Looking great, Brandon. Glad you're making progress. Keep the build videos coming. You'll love the mini split. I have one for my shop here in Ohio and it works great! Take care. Bill

Chris with A Glimpse Inside, is probably the video you’re referring too. That’s the way he framed out his walls in the same type of shop.

Could very well be!

This is a bit late,,, lol. But you think it would have been better to do match the width of the metal studs with a 2x3 so that everything would have been flush? It would given more floor space? By a couple inches I suppose… 🤔 Great seeing you post videos again! Missed you brother! Good job on the new shop!

Well my original plan was to allow room between the metal studs and the plywood / drywall so electric could be ran there but it ended up just dropping in from the top lol.

Thanks for the tip to get around the brackets/bolts with a forsner bit. If anyone has an idea of how to get around cross support cables, let me know

Looking good man! Why not just plywood all 8 feet? Tools everywhere! Except for cost I guess… I have no idea what a sheet of drywall costs
@WalkersWoodworks
@WalkersWoodworks 2 года назад
Ya cost lol. Plywood is $35 a sheet and drywall is $13

Hey how are you going to run your electric I noticed you didn’t drill out hole to run inside the walls so I’m guessing you are going to run it outside the wall. shop looking great can’t wait to see it done

Man looking great; just curious, what size building is it? I can see 12' high; what are the width and length?

Brandon, what is the silver insulation? I need to put that up first in my metal barn.
@WalkersWoodworks
@WalkersWoodworks 2 года назад
Its just 1/4" radiant foam. I've seen some other stuff similar called double bubble.
@ericjohnson9080

Does this have builder installed bubble type insulation here?

Green plate should be on the bottoms of the frames. Depending on what Drywall you select your young lungs are gonna love the mold. You did mention a mini split and I hope that helps.
@WalkersWoodworks
@WalkersWoodworks 2 года назад
I don't know what green plate is lol. I'm assuming pressure treated?
@W4TRI
@W4TRI 2 года назад
@@WalkersWoodworks Yep. For the moisture and condensate off the metal stud. Another idea is rubber flashing between. You are protecting the wood and other degradable materials from water.
@W4TRI
@W4TRI 2 года назад
@@WalkersWoodworks Yep. Green tint from the pressure treating and that it is a bottom plate against concrete or in your case galvanized metal. You can also put in some rubber window flashing between the stud and metal. Anything to avoid wood contact directly with the metal over a large area. Condensation on your metal is going to wick up over time. Same with contact of Drywall to the area. Try and find something for the bottom section of wall that is not paper/wood based.

What did you do for your ceiling?

What is the insulation you have on there already?
@WalkersWoodworks
@WalkersWoodworks Год назад
It’s just 1/4” foam and foil type. Mostly just helps with moisture and condensation.

You're gonna do gray. I bet.
@WalkersWoodworks

I think I may do a two tone. Darker gray on bottom and then the ply white or off white
