This has been known if you stack damage amplifying gems you will hit harder than a whale i tested this within my own clan as we have several 9k players ( 7-8) and a bunch of 7-8k players (5-6) we have 1 player who has a bunch of terrible gems but there 5/5 rank 10s zwenson hellfire fragment Pheonix Ash howlers call Echoing Shade Frozen Heart BSJ Seeping bile he went with the cheapest route for the most resonance but he only has 1 gem that increases his dmg by X% with his 9105 resonance Then theres me with Rank 10 Power and Command Rank 10 Pain Clasp Rank 10 Fervant Fang BSJ 4* rank 6 Bottled Hope 4* rank 6 Concentrated will 4* rank 6 Frozen Heart 4* rank 5 Howlers Call 4* rank 5 I went for almost pure dmg modifiers for gems im sitting at 3420 resonance we tested as barb on Inferno 2 blood rose and just used Charge + Cleave (for gloom dmg buff and crit) His max crit was 345k (9100 res) my max crit was 468k (3400 res) we have the same reforges no vengeance proc for the 100% dmg buff and both have maxxed out essence mastery his cleave skill is listed to do 38,682 dmg and my is listed at 26,422 dmg but thats the difference in base dmg based on resonance, once my dmg modifiers kicked in my cleave is doing significantly more dmg than his, Veiled shot was saying this a long time ago comparing a Berserkers Eye to rank 10 5/5 gems and it was mathing out to the Berserker's adds more dmg, me and the clan mate had a argument about it so we decided to test it out and to his surprise he was pissed when he saw the difference even though he had 3x my resonance.
you should always awaken your Main Hand and off hand weapons slots first this allows you the most amount of customization with what slots you want a benefit from since you can equip any of 2 different essences in the main hand and off hand slot. you will always be able to have a useful awaken bonus by selecting the weapon slots.
Great content here! 🤟 I came back after a couple months off of just very light play. Just got into Inferno 2 and with 1500÷ resonance. I play open world 99% of the time now. Even being a low spender, I still played heavily in PVP prior. But just got really tired of all the PVP stuff. Got to be an Immortal for a couple season passes with the old crew but that got old with the high participation demand too. So i left said crew and took a couple months off. Got back into the game a just over a couple weeks ago, clicked up with a lower level Shadow clan, and now spend majority of my timr in open world, dungeons, and randomly helping out low level players in Hell difficulties. Much less demand on me and still helping out others. Win win.
Hey Echo, it’s Mega. I joined your clan like a week ago or so. So I have 3k res, and I really just wanted the wings! Lol! I’m not big on BGs but enjoy the shadow, or immortal activities. I still get melted by players with huge resonance. Whether you have 1k res or 3k I have found it just doesn’t matter when it comes to BGs and the whales. I have no need to pay more for more res at all. Thanks man!
Resonance gives a multiplier of the base attributes on all gear. Secondary and primary. Hands, head, shoulders, and all 4 weapons give damage, while everything else gives you life. This is what resonance effects. Just dmg and life from gear.
Great video, Echo! I really dont see a reason to get high reso unless you are trying to be Immortal or rule BGs. To be honest, its really not worth it at all.
Couldn't agree more here. Everyone's biggest argument with this game is that its so p2w. But like...what are you winning? Don't need to spend a penny to enjoy it. I personally don't care about being immortal or getting matched with all whales in bgs as there's really no extra reward for it. So without that, there's no reason to ever spend. It's not p2w at all.
@@WhyTry321 agreed. I think a lot of this comes from not understanding the end game. I can't fully blame and average person for considering this game p2w because it's not very clear what "winning" is. Personally I consider Immortals just a whale side quest. I am hoping the new game mode gives F2P players a PVP option. That's when things will get a lot more even imo.
When i started a yeat ago i got all 5 star gems i have em all like rank 4-5. But now since i returned recently to game im thinking replace a few with lower gems.
I totally agree with you that you don't need huge resonance to enjoy the game unless you want to participate in Battleground it's just pointless because it's not just resonances, there are normal gems.Yesterday I watched somewhere on youtube where he raises all normal games to the tenth level and other games slots...
For all players, do you think its worth it to spend the time to gather all the normal gems from the hidden lairs? Personally I think it matters as much as resonance in BG's. Normal Gems have base attribute multipliers also.
I agree with Res not being all that important for some players. I came back to the game and I'm playing differently now. Staying an Adventurer and not worried about BG's or shadow wars or anything.... Just enjoying casually playing.
PvP is crap overall anyways but the pay to win is soon to affect some pve and raids and such aswell.. we just havent gotten there yet.. but u can already calculate ur gear cr for inferno 2 already as its max is 1257 on all greens and about the same for legendary items.. then calculate that and look at requirements on inferno 2 and 3 raids for instance and see the diffrence
I made a new character today and lvl'd to paragon 32 and got to join an immortal clan on my server. I have a 1018 main which is currently shadow. Just wanted to try the immortal side out. Hopefully they last a few more weeks lol.
We should have Resonance For average battle ground For example (50 - 1.5k)(1.5k-3k) and then (3k-Above). Then if a whale having 7k regulated to 3K. His Resonance should be around (3k average) also.
I just started playing this about a week ago with 3 of my brothers. We are all having a blast together running dungeons and raids. Probably wont end up PVPing much but I'm not worried about it at the moment because there is more than enough content to keep us occupied for now.
i'm not really into battlegrounds or PVP, I just enjoy killing monsters. I made sure that my monk is leaning towards killing monsters faster and not really into PVP. I do enjoy PVP a bit but its not really my thing but I do enjoy group work though like "party" or "raids". But i do enjoy upgrading gears and gems and see what it does to my powers and monsters but only (super strict) when there is extra moolah to spend on. But I am happy (and astonished) for those who loves to spend that much on their character/s if that brings you joy then go ahead.
I think Blizzard should modivate us to even wanna purchase away to wakan a legendary gem and it should give us double resonance I think that would make people wanna go for gem awakening cuz like for a free to play players that's huge like we can't compare to someone who spent quite a bit like good for that person ofcorse but Blizzard hadl to meet us half way somewhere where we can also participate at that level of competition
Great video again. Surely as the game gets older and less and less people try to max their character things will go back to more of how Warcraft works??? Nobody in the future I suspect will need anything more than 1000 resonance to be competitive in battlegrounds
They should allow awakening starting at lvl 5 for 5* gems. Maybe only giving 1/2 to benefit until lvl 10. That way it’s just not a whale mechanic and allows f2p + low spenders to awaken 1and2* and not feel like it was wasted money if they migrated to 5*s
I had a mothers lament rank 5 getting 150 res and 34-36 cr, swapped for a 3* hff rank 3 and got more res and cr than a 2* rank 5, im not saying everyone should get all 5* gems but for me the cr and res are far far better than any 1 or 2* gems, they just don’t provide enough cr and res and therefore not worth ranking up, guess it’s all to everyone’s preferences
Not sure if you are still looking at comments from this video... imo, what I am not seeing is what a f2p player needs to be able to play current end game pve. Example, at paragon level, what would it take for a player to farm all INF 4 content? What about INF 5? This is where I would like to understand how Res plays a part. You said in the video that Res only really plays a part in pvp. I disagree. You have to have a certain amount to farm / play top end content. Thanks Love your posts.
This is a myopic and dare I say it incorrect view of battlegrounds. I'm at the top of my crusader leaderboard and I don't have the most res. You can grind battlegrounds at any resonance. You generally only get points for winning and you don't lose points for losing. The people at the top of the leaderboards just play the most. So by grinding battlegrounds it at least gives you access to all of the keys in a season, which are important for your secondary stats. And then if you want to keep going you can, every team gets a whale or two, they're all random parties of eight. It ain't eSports. Just go in there and see what happens, it's prob the most interesting gameplay in DI
I would disagree. For casual FTP with low res Battlleground is the most boring aspect of Diablo. You’re literally just target practice for those with high res. I don’t mind loosing but would like to atleast have fun and that can’t be if your in and out of battle in 3 seconds.
I wanted big wings smh🤦♂️literally the only reason i spent money upgrading was to get the bigger wings 😂😅. I got them now i could care less about spending money. Currently sitting at 3300 res and will probably max out around 3700 res i dunno yet. The 2 new weapon slots hepled out alot with res for ftp players.
This! It can actually hurt you getting high reso if you don't have great secondary stats because then the game matches you with other high reso players in things like bgs and vaults, but they likely will have whaled out on Normal gems as well.
@@Twyer24lol yeah ppl don't really understand how big of a difference it is for pvp. And plus low or avrg spender under 3k reso will have avg or below avg secondary stats no one secondary stats is really op besides whales that buy lots of gems
I’m a medium spender, at 2.2k res and I picked the game back up about a month ago. With lvl 14 gear I am top 10 in inferno BG, and I have no issue eliminating stronger players for the most part.
High reso-having maxed out legendary gems boosts all item stats a verry high percent when the gems are at its max inside the gem this has been seen boosting like 22 percent or so on all stats..
So in reality having higher reso like 3k or higher is highly useful and probably required for inferno 2 raids.. the proof is in the game.. look at the inferno 2 green items its 1257 Max cr same for legendary items.. so knowing this u can calculate ur approx Max cr and then look at the required cr for the raids and ull see if ur at the required cr b4 having entered inferno 2

We have guys like kunzite and had jt and lida who left the server. Kunzite group of allsaint sif lol all around max res among everything else lol we as immortals keep skipping them in vaults
Do you think pve players they will ever get these charm. I'm playing the game for a year and I never get 4% damage I think it's something to do with your spending this is not right
If you want to grind and be at the top of the leaderboard, you have to spend money. Low reso players are soft caped before players with 3k+ resonance to make sure that low spender can't be rank over a whale. I have a 62% win rate with over 300 wins and the game wont let me get more raring to participate at the top of the leaderboard.
Echo, you can actually grind resonance. I'm 5k res right now, grinding my way to 7k res. generating 1M plat per week with 60 alts. 30 hours of game play per week. it's possible.
60 alts should gain a lot more than 1 mill plat a week I use 1 alt right now the alt generates 53-56k plat a week you get 147 gems per week (63 lairs + 84 from party gems) thats 49,980 plat + 2 charms per week at 4200 plat + 2100 plat from daily goals rewards. If your running 60 alts that should atleast be 3-3.3million plat a week, 12-13 million plat a month. but either way as a general rule i would tell anyone under 4k resonance to make an alt its a far better way to get your main stronger per hour spent than actually playing your main. 1.5 hrs spent on a alt farming gems per day is better than 6-8 hrs spent on your main farming greens/leggos if your goal is to make your main as strong as possible. A single alt bringing you 220k plat a month >>>> than anything you could have farmed up during that month on your main.
Dude do not do a video about "how important is Resonance" without even mentioning WHAT Resonance does in the game. To other players reading this, your character's Resonance does one thing: it increases the BASE DAMAGE and the BASE LIFE of all of your equipped gear slots (the base stat at the top in large text on each piece of gear you're wearing, in the game called "equipment Base Attributes", and that's the one and only thing Resonance affects. Literally all you have to do to test this is check those stats on your gear, then pull the Legendary gem out to lower your Resonance, checking those stats again afterwards. Use a Gem that in no way directly increases Life or Damage in the test if you don't believe me. Resonance works as a percentage-based multiplier on top of each gear slot's Life or Damage base stat, and that's it.) Obviously, having more Damage and Life is yes, useful in PvP, BUT ALSO PvE (Dungeons, Farming, Raids, Challenge Rifts, everything). It is NOT JUST A THING FOR PVP OR CYCLE OF STRIFE PLACEMENT, it is for every game mode, because all it is, is additional Life and Damage, and lots of it when your Resonance is high.
Its pathetic that they dont want to give us this kind of endless system in D4 for PVE/PVP environments. Maybe not exactly like this but an endless ability to build with world tier difficulty climbing to match...They want us to pay irl to enjoy the game we already bought... Greed to the max. PATHETIC.
Chasing the 3k wings. Almost. Will make a full stop financially after. It does cost a pretty penny indeed. Plus with the Inferno brick walls, that try to force newer/lower CR players into spending to catch up faster, which fckkkkk that imho. That's why i believe Blizz is never getting better, only worse, no matter the revenue, and we need to help eachother as much as possible, like this golden man, with these unskipable vids.
