I quit caffeine, upped my salt a lot and my energy is fantastic, no more dizziness, and no more leg cramps. Thanks so much! I put my salt in 000 capsules and pop one every 2 hours.

Learnt this myself doing strict keto carnivore 1-2 meals a day. I neglected salt due to believe i got chest pain from it. So my first symptom was thirst. But i just thought I could push threw it. Then dizziness, numb legs and arms, out of breath and then confusion. I went back eating carbs realised after 4 days i barely got better I thought it must be salt. So I loaded up 30g of sodium in one day in about, 6.5 tablespoon of sea salt in 4 litres of water. And I got normal after that. Then i did 10g sodium next days until I startet getting headache. Then I kinda knew I was sodium loaded.

Vegans on a plant based diet may also experience salt deficiencies. For years I suffered from chronic Exertion Headaches especially after any kind of excercises. Headaches lasted 24-48 hrs. To the point where I had to give up any form of intensive sports...even golf. Cut a long story short...adding Himalayan salt to smoothies, vegetable broths etc was the cure! Gone are the headaches and now I enjoy exercising again. This is vital information that you will never find in medical journals etc. BTW when I forget to follow my salt routine headaches come back. This works!!

I believe ive found you and this info divinely.....i drink only florida spring bottled water with a fresh squeezed half of lime or lemon in every 16.9 oz. 4 to 5 a day for 4 yrs now. I train intentionally ( cardio), in the heat of the day to promote sweat. I also drink about 3 cups coffee daily. Of course im aware to add salt to my meals to compensate for salt loss, but never knew the amount. Im 63, and use the extreme heat and humidity to strengthen myself to adversity. ( retired now,but worked outside entire life here in fl)...so, thank you kindly. I look forward to getting your book!! And to adding salt to my citrus water.

Very interesting discussion about keto and salt. I have not experienced the effects you spoke about which made me think about what I eat. I use soy based condiments when I cook. Braggs makes a product Essential Amino which is a soy like product. Using this adds salt to your food

Eat 250 grams of pan-fried bacon, 100 to 150 grams of tomato paste without sugar, and a decent salad. Problem solved! I guarantee your heart weakness will go away, and you'll have tons of energy. For the record, 100 grams of pan-fried bacon has 1700 milligrams of sodium and 550 milligrams of potassium, bioavailable magnesium and essential fats. Bacon is a superfood; tomato paste is also.

I've been so stressed about fluid retention. The only way I was able to fix it is by reducing my sodium intake dramatically
@Jewlz4ever
@Jewlz4ever 4 года назад
Daniella Cipollone, apparently the type of salt is what determines water retention. Regular refined white table salt will definitely cause water retention. But unrefined salt like Celtic, Himalayan, and Redmond’s salt are full of beneficial minerals and do not cause water retention. This is just what I have heard, so experiment at your own risk.

are you sure this is the cause of it? becoz i added pink salt and all my bloating and stomach fat reduced by alot.i eat what i want including lot of carbs so only salt is the factor.

Low potassium can cause water retention that is commonly blamed on "too much salt". See Dr Eric Berg channel for examples of deficiencies and their effects.

I haven't added salt to my food and I have been eating foods with the lowest salt quantities that I could find, for the past 3 years, and I don't have one thing wrong with my body. Kidneys are working great, cholesterol is also terrific, no water retention etc. How do you explain this ?
@AdaptYourLife

Ecosez Roman many folks smoke their entire lives and never get cancer or get ill, doesn’t mean smoking is good for you.

@@AdaptYourLife So how come, if I get even a small taste of salt, I feel a bit dizzy, and a bit stressed in my heart region ? At one point I ate some food that actually had salt in it, without me knowing it, and my heart started beating like it was in a marathon and I got dizzy. And when there is no salt in food, there is absolutely nothing like those symptoms.
@AdaptYourLife

Ecosez Roman I’m not sure, our advice would be to seek medical advice. Certainly doesn’t seem right to me. As a matter of interest, do you follow the Standard American diet?

@@AdaptYourLife I'm Romanian, not american and I live in my native country, so, no I don't. Ecosez Roman this is the Adapt Team answering, I would tend to agree that for a diet high in carbohydrates, salt should be limited, for a low carb or Keto diet, Salt is vital.

Water quality is key in salt balance. Alkaline water keeps you hidrateded on kitosis. Salt water baths, and mineral Creams are escential to homeostasis.

What, glucose helps salt absorbtion. So if previous you had x amout of salt and knew what it was. Then keto says. i need more becasue less is absorbed. Mind blown. Thanks I knew keto acidosis was more bunk. It's much more complicated than that
