As a waste manager, we do lots of education but still litter, illegal burning and dumping persists. Our roadside collection is also free! For me, it's incentives and disincentive s that will work like refunds back on returned packaging and end of life products. Our system will hopefully start next year after 10 years of pushing it.

We need to help these poorer communities and countries build the necessary trash disposal infrastructure needed to prevent plastic pollution in the first place.

Excellent! Reuse of old building for community development and education - so many sustainable wins in addition to taking plastic pollution out of the oceans 🌊 It would be great to see water fountains here where visitors can fill up their own bottles with clean drinking water or other drinks, a small step we should all be doing at our homes, schools and offices

And not only plastic pollution, all pollution going into our water could end today if we as a society would simply make it happen. I'm glad the Ocean Cleanup Project is operational and making good progress. Every person alive on this planet can make their own contributions by simply NOT THROWING ANYTHING INTO THE SEA!

Notice how the Ocean collects and herds the trash for us to pick up? We will take the trash out of our Ocean and we will limit the amount of trash going into our Ocean, now.

Its not enough for you to educate the population. You need to work together with the communities as well as local, state, and federal governments to build the proper garbage collection and disposal infrastructure to prevent plastic pollution.
