Well caught on the glissando in the harsh vocals. It's the kind of thing I'm only used to hear from specialists in harsh vocals like Will Ramos or Britta Götz. I might have heard Masha Scream or Adrienne Cowan pull it off, would have to check. For more on Dan's moves between different clean and harsh, go for Burn Butcher, Burn next. Three different cleans and five or six different distortions, a really cool and dramatic instrumental arrangement, surprisingly musical for all the changes.

I like your analysis of your reaction to Dan Vasc. He has such a tremendous powerful voice that is so incredibly versatile. I really would love it if he would put DVDs out of his RU-vid performances, because I like to watch how he forms his mouth and even his stance while he sings. He puts a lot into his performances that when he starts to speak afterwards, it seems like an entirely different person. He performs with his whole being. Thank you for your analysis. Great reaction and explanations! I have learned about jaw and tongue placement because of issues with my daughter - well it seems as tho most of the world (especially Americans) have much smaller jaws these days which causes a cascade of issues. I pay attention to anyone I see and this is one thing I noticed about Dan right away - his jaw is an example of what everyone's should be. His genetics, his upbringing in Brazil, his diet as a child as he was developing are all blessings for his health that most Americans just don't understand. I have wondered if this is also a huge bonus for his vocal abilities.

Hi, you must have a good ear, and I wondered why nobody ever seems to mention that last note that he holds. Is it just me, or towards the end, does it actually sound like metal, as if its played on an instrument, or are my ears hearing something that no one else hears? I can't explain it very well, sorry.
