But then I just remembered he has bad sight and uses glasses. He must have weaker eyes for Saiyan standards so his fight experiences from childhood, including turning ssj2, didn't help to make his eyes resistant.
@@2-bit567 Haha not sure. It was a brief explanation. Unfortunately it's not practical for Gohan to be super saiyan all the time so he doesn't need his glasses for work apparently.
I mean these are the same people that somehow still have perfect vision despite constantly firing large, blinding beams of light from point blank. I’m gonna assume their aura is easy to see through by comparison-
Blinding themselves by their own aura is actually a brilliant tactic: that way their eyes can adjust to the glow, so that when big glowy beams are shot at them it doesn't hurt their eyes
@@Rose-of-Willow I think frieza was bullshitting like a conniving asshole he is would, in xenoverse they even say frieza underpowered the attack out of fear he may kill himself in the explosion which makes sense since him estimating the time till the explosion of the planet is another level of smarter than gohan
As an aura connoisseur myself. I can safely verify that what Vegeta did was correct. His plan was to blind Jiren, someone who uses his eyes way to much. But little did Vegeta know that Jiren had read Sun Tzu's Art of War. Jiren was ready for everything. "Your opponent can't blind you if you are blind yourself." Sun Tzu once wrote.

When they rush at each other with their ki aura on, it doesn't stays on for much long... and whenever it stays on they usually rush punch crazily, like a blind person. Also if its a ki blast, it's always on a straight line, or it's a "Vegeta Technique" where the number of projectiles make up for the accuracy, that is impossible with all the brightness.

Saiyans must have a superior eye resistant, even if it's still damaged by the constant stronger transformations. And then Gohan must be the exception, with weaker eyes that got more damaged early in life. On top of that he even transformed in ssj2 as a child. Then Goten and Trunks didn't get the unlucky genetics for eye resistance.

Yup. Cell and buu saga have statements for saying that the Z fighters fight by sensing chi (Dr gero fight) and sensing air currents (yakon Vs Goku) They don't actually really use their eyes to fight as their primary sense.
@@heroricspiritfreinen38 There's also the fact that the high speeds must be bad on their eyes, even if they have more resistant eyes than humans. So when they move so fast that its a teleport, they probably close their eyes in that moment.

i always thought super saiyan was basically emitting so much light energy that it heated up the air around them till it glowed yellow and went up like flames due to the heat gradient, but then DBS came and said "hey you know when you keep your ki trapped inside your body completely to attain god ki? the auras are somehow more pronounced, bright and opaque instead of being minimal!
It's explained in OG dragon ball that once you learn to sense the ki of everything around you, you don't need eyes to fight/move around Oddly convenient since their auras became so obnoxiously bright in later years
That is why their EYES change colors alongside their hair ans aura. So they adapt to the light spectrum and adjust (strengthen) their vision according to their aura and surroundings, also to their new power, which is why Gohan doesn't need Glasses when in SS and above. Also KI Sensing is probably a great asset as well, so...
Fortunately they don't really need to see their opponents at this point. Though actually, wouldn't it be funny if the auras also got in the way of their ability to sense ki? Since, y'know, they're completely surrounded by their own energy.
But then they had a very good idea. They used F5. You see, using F5 gave them a new perspective, allowing them to see an opponent they weren't able to see before.
According to the cell saga, humans cannot see what the Z fighters are able to, so their vision is likely augmented to allow them to see regardless of light. And Goku was leaving after-images in Z, so they’re likely massively FTL at this point, so the beams of light entering their eyes contain outdated information, making them effectively blind anyways.
But you can see them through the aura. If you’re only looking to or from the middle of the aura it’s pretty clear. It’s blurry around them because you’re looking though the entire shroud of aura. I guess.
As Vegito stated, a poor fighter relies solely on sight. Implying that they are quite used to not being able to rely on their eyes. Coincidence, i think NOT!

This is probably the reason why they would sometimes teleport out of position rapidly or randomly and why Vegeta's technique has such amazing accuracy. Edit: Added "or randomly"
Skiing in a blizzard when you have eye floaters: You know, MasakoX had come up with a form for Vegeta where all his other senses are heightened but he has to fight blind. Probably should spar with Krillin to realize what could go wrong with that.
