Hey Kattvalk! That greenish colour is actually cyan and it’s one of the primary colours for ink instead of blue! The primary colours most people know are actually for light 😳 The ones for ink are cyan, magenta, and yellow :)
The unboxing vids are a staple of your channel I would never want to miss. Though I think there is also a lot of untapped potentional. Like, there are art challenges, draw this in your style, style swaps, OC challenges, design your own character lists and much much more! I see a lot of these on Instagram and use them when I feel stuck in my art. It refreshes my brain like a nice summer breeze...
I enjoy the Scrawlr box videos, but I'm also a huge fan of random art supply challenges. There used to be a RU-vidr that would dump all the supplies she'd get from Art Snacks into a bin and then blindly pick four or five of them. Then create something with just those. I enjoyed it because we got to see those old supplies from previous unboxings being used again or odd pairings of supplies. If you try it, I suggest removing all the lead pencils you've received. She kept all the pencils she had received in the bin, so pretty much every video there'd be a lead pencil being used.
@@cautionartinprogress9268 Honestly, I can't remember. She had a kid and then disappeared off RU-vid several years ago, but her idea always stuck with me and I'd do it at home with my own supplies when I was bored.
Any art challenges are always a favourite of mine! Always down for an unboxing video for sure. I watch all of your videos so I’m happy no matter what you post ☺️
I actually am mixed when it comes to an audience member of your content. In general, I love unboxing and testing out art supplies videos, but am not a fan of studio vlogs. No matter how much I love the creator, studio vlogs just bore me, and because of my disabilities, when I'm bored, I basically, near automatically, fall asleep. So if I want to have a day in the world of the waking, I can't watch too much in the way of studio vlogging. That said, I love unboxing videos, and of course YOUR unboxing videos so much that I clicked as soon as I saw it. I didn't even give myself enough time to remember that today is a Waffles posting day, which I wait all week for! So that's a pretty massive deal. So although I really just can't do studio vlogs (to the point that despite how much I LOVE Baylee Jae, I can't watch her videos any more because of it 😥) I am super excited you're going to keep posting the unboxing videos. I also love seeing what other stuff you come up with :) Basically what I'm trying to say is that I personally am cool so long as it's not only studio vlogs, not because I don't like them, but because I legit can't watch them lol, and that I'll watch so long as you're creating ^-^
@@nefertitimontoya aww thank you! Yeah, I have a lot of opinions, have lived a very interesting life, overshare, like to support awesome people who make art videos (among other things lol), and waaaaay too much time on my hands lol. Seriously though, I really appreciate that you noticed me :) I've been better, I am pretty disabled so I almost always am "I've been better" or "I'm ok" when people ask, but I have been able to do art lately, so I am happier than I've been in a little while.
No pressure! We love you just for being you! If I had to recommend anything, I would say I like the videos where you make art with your cats! Maybe like a washable ink (water based) pad to stamp their paws on paper and make something mystical with that? Or even a drawing of your cats in a magical realm with their paw prints used as flowers or leaves?
I would love to see you finding different art-challanges to do! Seeing other kinds of media would also be fun, such as sculpting or really any kind of crafting ^^ Or maybe finding a prompt list and follow for a bit? ^^
A fun challenge could be a random mixed media piece: make a list of the types of art supplies you have and pick two or three to use. You could also see if there are any brands that have multiple kinds of art supplies, so the thing connecting everything would be the brand. I actually like art supply unboxing, it's fun comparing how different RU-vidrs react to the same supplies!
I actually dig the studio vlogs and the unboxing videos. As a frequent shopper, I like to see the process behind the creation of the things I purchase - I just enjoy that. Through the unboxing videos, I have actually found a lot of really good art supplies after seeing what you've done with them. I am enjoying collecting the prints of the art challenges you've done using all one color, so more of that would be cool. Just find what works best for you creatively and do that.
I love watching you draw on paper. I love the way you design on the computer and then transfer the images. I like the feel and energy of the hand, it shows in the completed art work. I also like your witchy aesthetician. And the kitties! I guess I just like seeing actual artwork being made. Trying different media would be fun! I see a series of witchy kitties done in polymer or air dry clay.
That kitty is so cute !! But also your abstract flowers are so good. Future ideas: Take your camera en art supplies outside in the fall to capture all the pretty colors. Make a portrait of your kitties, drawing and for a challenge a bigger acrylic painting in a style of a fameus master like VanGogh, Rembrandt etc
That kitty came out so cute! And the way the colours in the flowers bled into each other was really satisfying :D Art challenges are always fun to watch! Maybe you could do a character design challenge where you ask people for prompts (colour, species, medium etc) and then combine them!
I love your content but maybe you should challange yourself more with other art media (like sculpting or mosaic?), maybe using the same art so you will have a continuity ♡
We come here for your content, whatever it is! As long as what you are doing makes you happy, that's what matters. For a suggestion, maybe do some landscapes with cats or other creatures.
You're my favorite artist I follow and I immediately watch anything you post, vlog, unboxing, art vids, the whole shebang. XD My favorite videos are the illustrations, and the one color cat monument challenges most of all!
I really like the videos where you incorporate some craft supplies into your paintings. Like different papers, scrapbooking supplies, different art materials etc. How about craft foam for 3D-Elements ?
Ever think about playing Minecraft? You may find it a relaxing change & a whole new media for art. I appreciate the unboxing videos- I learn so much, please keep it going!
I would like to see art made with mixed media, and collages eg take an actual photo and edit it adding your whimsical characters, anything to bring a bit of magic to the gloomy reality, also you can experiment with 3d art, make small colourful sculptures, also your art is perfect for puzzles you could make a few and make them available for purchace at you shop. Anything you chose to do I'll be happy to see, stay safe and happy and creative! 💐🤗🙏
I like your alcohol brush marker skills so I always want to watch more of that. I also like blind picks like the three marker challenge or cat picks my random prompt :)
*Kitty Cat Tarot / Angel Cards series. *Cartoon Including your babies🐾 *Cat chooses my art work (like before) *Mother Nature Series -where you use something natural to help e.g. wooden sticks, rocks, grass. *Mushroom people with names.
I agree with you. These flowers you made they are gorgeous. The kitty cat is also beautiful 😍 and I don't agree with you about the lineart. It is beautiful. With the black lines. It is just the hard lines that make it all pop up so nice. You don't have to be so hard on yourself. I love it... ❤️
Big pie-in-the-sky creative idea: draft a [clothing item] pattern for yourself, design a repeating pattern digitally, have it printed on fabric and use it for your pattern. Muffin-on-the-neighbor's-windowsill idea: Get a blank, build-your-own-instrument kit and assemble and decorate the crud out of it. (I know Thomann has some relatively affordable ones that don't sound awful when done) You could technically even auction it off after, either for charity or to fund the next "big out of comfort zone creative project"?🤷♀ Twix-in-the-pantry level idea: graduate from that one video where you did blow pens. Get some spray paint and see where you get. There's even chalk spray paint, if you want a big, outdoor canvas, but not deal with long-term consequences.
I personally really enjoy your art boxes videos, not just scrawlrbox, but all the others as well. I also miss the challenge videos, like the 3/5/10 marker challenges, or the challenges where your pet chooses your art supplies (one with a choice of toned and black paper would be nice, and the second step would be metallic watercolours, acrylic paint or coloured pencils). I've seen other comments suggesting sculpting and mosaics and I really like those ideas too.
First, I’ve been a subscriber for years and years. You are still my favorite and I’ve seen every video you have made. I love your cats, and your nails are so beautiful lol. I love your art and sometime would love a procreate tutorial for beginners? Keep being you, you are the best!
I never really comment anything but i have to! I love all of your video. They inspire me so much since I was in high school. They helped me get through tough time in Art School and inspires me, when I'm having artbloch. Keep drawing, love ya~!
I have enjoyed all of your content. If.Sometimes you need to make videos that are easier and more.relaxing for you then that is fine with me. You have to take yourself first. I watch a lot of art videos generally. I like to see what people are working on it if they participating in challenges. I tend to work on my own artwork while watching. I really like the red flowers the best also. I really like the cat also
It would be great to see a tutorial video from you on the topic of drawing with markers, or other drawing tips! I myself am no longer a beginner artist, but I draw in a digital format, but sometimes I want to go back to basics and become a little better in traditional art
I like the red flowers best, too. They were a surprise (unexpected?). The purple you created was awesome! Aubergine? Now that you are more familiar with how these products work, maybe you could come back with a second try. How would you use the products knowing what you know now? I loved the monochromatic stuff you made in the past. It was super imaginative. Have you ever made a book? Have you ever used classic works of art as models for art done in your style? Would love to see your modern version of Mona Lisa surrounded by aubergine flowers. I enjoyed your video very much.
Thanks for the unboxing! I'm a ScrawlrBox subscriber. leaning artistically, but not an artist, so it's fun seeing what you do with the contents. I too passed on eating that candy -- though I usually look forward to their little treats. One sniff and I knew it wouldn't be a treat to me.😜
Hi Kat! I think youre fine liners are permanent (india ink probably), you just need to leave them to dry for longer. Like some of mine are so “juicy”, I leave the line-work alone overnight or heat gun it, so I can be sure they are bone dry, when I come in with watercolors or acrylic inks. Just a quick note, so youll get the best out of your supplies :)
Love it. The supplies and art work are great. I was going to say you could use the ink colors to make a similar color to black but you have a pure black with the pens so it worked out good. 👍
As someone who has an eclectic channel due to lots of hobbies as well as having a day job, I understand. Sometimes I make easier types of videos to post in between ones (such as art videos). Sometimes I have low energy or low motivation and also don’t have a specific upload schedule so upload whenever I upload.
I only found your content recently (in the last 6 months or so), but I really love watching you try new art supplies or the unboxing videos. I'm also a big fan of the studio blogs as well :) Maybe you could try doing another 'one-color' challenge again soon to add to your kitty-rune collection. Maybe Orange with it coming to Halloween soon-ish?
I've just been skipping through the video a bit (been struggling with a complete lack of focus for a while now) and I see a bunch of people talking about how to improve your content, so I assume you asked/talked about that. I think it could be really helpful to incorporate chapters, I find myself skipping a lot in videos sometimes, and sometimes I then just stop watching because it's too much work. Convinced quite some people have that, and chapters or timestamps really do help. Edit: and I see a lot of comments suggesting to try new media. Reminder for everyone that it's fine if you don't feel like expanding and just want to keep working with the media you know and like. A lot of people online try out so many different things, which is great, but there is absolutely no need to, do art for you.
I love your channel and art style it is relaxing, fun and colourful. I love watching your art box unboxings and challenge videos of making things under the theme, similar to this video, and I love your blogs so would be happy with the channel continuing as it is truth be told. However if your looking for ideas and things we would want to see added to the channel I suppose maybe some themed or bigger projects be that still painting/ markers but a set of drawings or it’s becoming autumn so maybe more autumnal and Halloween projects coming in. If you wanted to do something a bit more out of the comfort zone you could maybe try other mediums. You already make clay pieces for your shop what about a making my painting into a sculpture and say one of the fun cats or trees with creatures around it could become a little display piece could be fun and different?
Just a thought: do you watch other channels? LorriMarie Jenkins does mixed media. Shanouki Art has something called the Full Deck Challenge. She makes art on playing cards. That’s quick art! A lot of channels have challenges. You could creat your own challenge. Or not. Do what makes you happy. 👵🏻
Does anyone have any other people they are subbed too that do similar things to Kattvalk? (Or the waffles one or kasey golden) I just love these types of videos but it’s hard to find people I like to watch XD
