For what you guys were saying about the grading: Todo is the only student who is already a Grade 1 sorcerer. Inumaki (and Kamo and Mechamaru) is semi grade 1 which does mean he's already been recommended for Grade 1, hence why he wasn't mentioned with the other five. There's only 4 official special grade sorcerers at this point, so Inumaki definitely isn't one XD (the four are Gojo, Geto, Yuta, and someone who you wouldn't really know yet, but should appear this season)
@@Sergio-wm5du Yeah at the end of S1 he's the only official semi-grade 1 in Tokyo school (although he's only the highest rated in his class if we're only counting 2nd years in Tokyo without Yuta)
@@FireFx sorry I was half asleep when I responded before and misread what you were asking, Yuta isn't special grade yet, there's only one (maybe 2, Gojo might be the second but idk if he is one yet, Geto definitely isn't yet) at this point. They were just talking about grades of modern sorcerers in the pre-discussion so I was clearing that up
Megumi wasnt really taken in by gojo, youll see more but in s1 when gojo met megumi he said that megumi was sold to zenin by his dad who is also a zenin. So gojo just stopped megumi from being sold. Even to this day we havent seen anyone who is in gojos family or even anyone who he calls family. Megumi is zenin by blood but he has no relation to them
Gojo is more like a sponsor for megumi and his sister. He mad sure megumi was safe and he checked up on him but im pretty sure he didnt live with him because megumis sister isnt a sorcerer so that would be forbade by jujustu regulations.

And megumi was skilled from the jump he beat all the local gangs and delinquents in his area in middle school remember? Gojo and Geto are both already Special Grade Sorcerers at this time. They were specifically chosen for this mission because they are the 2 strongest sorcerers. As Gojo says in this episode 'We're the strongest'. It's basically like having 2 Yuta's in the same year at high school. Edit: Ensuing debate has shown that Geto was 1st Grade here. Gojo was probably Special Grade but we can't say for sure.
No, they were grade one. Promoted to special in the year after the mission, which is why 99 went to congratulate them and ended up talking to geto. But Tengen wanted them, and more specifically gojo, for the mission for other reasons.
@@landmerry_6742 It doesn't say that in any version of that chapter that I've seen. PS: One of the English scanlations does have Tsukumo saying she had wanted to 'greet' Gojo as well as Geto. Is that the part you're thinking of? Is it explicitly saying something more in the Japanese? The official English translation just says she wanted to 'say hi' to Gojo as well.
This is the first react channel that I have seen that actually recognized the younger version of characters and even got the significance of Fushiguro as that last character's last name. Finally reactors that paid attention or even remembered things from season 1.
Not sure what reactors you’ve been watching, because every single one I’ve seen reacted to combination of Zenin and Fushiguro (although not everybody came to the immediate conclusion he was the dad - some toyed with other options). But everyone leapt straight to Megumi.
Just so you can situate better in the time line and the characters ages: This arc is 11-12 years before the first season. The year is 2006, the movie is in 2017 and the 1st Season is in 2018 Here, Gojo, Geto and Shoko are 16-17 years old (in the first Season, they are 28y) and are Second Year students Both Geto and Gojo are probably Special Grades already (or they became it in less than one year later, in 2007, no further than that) Mei Mei an Utahime are not students anymore. Mei's age is unknown but Utahime is 3 years older than Gojo (so here she is 20 and in the 1st season she is 31)
The animation in this season is next levels greatness. This first episode was just incredible, I can tell were in for something special this season. It's going to be covered in glory.
I believe they changed directors this season? Apparently the character animations were “toned down” to make way for environmental and combat animations. That’s just what I heard

They worship Tengen and want him to evolve. They think that the erasure of the Star Plasma Vessel and resetting of his technique is a bad thing. Yaga used the word “impurity” to describe how they feel abt the vessel.
When they are talking about Tengen-sama, they are not referring to gender. For the sake of translation, they have to add "he, him" or "she, her" in English. This is the difficult part. In the subsequent scene where Gojo and Geto are talking on the phone, they are talking about Gojo's first person. This is another difficult part to translate because in English the first person is only "I".
Yeah when I watched the leak I saw them talking about "Ore" and I was thinking "how the hell is Crunchyroll gonna adapt this, normal english speaking people don't know the difference between the respect of different japanese pronouns. And there isn't really any english equivalent" XD
@@lulubop19 I mean no one would really know that besides Tengen at this point so "He" isn't incorrect, Japanese just doesn't really have gendered pronouns so they didn't use either in the actual show as OP said. And Tengen said they aren't a gendered being anymore after living so long so it doesn't really matter, I imagine Kenjaku feels similarly

It is only at this point that Tengen was revealed to be a woman. And even Yuki, who used to be a Star Plasma Vessel, thought Tengen was a man. So, at this anime arc, it is correct that the characters think Tengen is a man.
Being recommended for 1st grade is the first step to being a first grade. Because Inumaki is already a semi-1st grade, he would’ve already been recommended sometime before. There are only 4 special grade sorcerers, including gojo, geto and yuta.
Just for clarification GRADE is used to describe the person's power on scale going 4, 3, 2, 1, Special Grade (with special grade being the strongest), while YEAR is used to describe their school "grade" with higher being more senior. It can get a little confusing because of the fact the school and the power scale are intertwined so much but not related. Also that we typically (at least in the US) use grade to denote seniority in school. I What the year is used for is basically to tell you who their fellows are. For instance, in the main time period Yuta is a 2nd year along with Panda, Inumaki, and Maki. While Megumi, Nobara, and Yuji are 1st years.

In relation to why the religious group doesn't want Tengen to assimilate a new body, Getou expains it to Gojou during their phone call. Basically the religious people worship the "Pure" for of Tengen and assimilating someone would mean he becomes "Impure".
One of my fav episodes of the season but it took me a couple of time rewatching it to really appreciate all of it. DIdnt know what the hell was going on at first but I learned to appreciate the interactions between Utahime and Mei.

Also to clear up the ending....Megumi is in no way state ir form related to/adopted by Gojo.....he is a Zenin in nature but because his pop took his wife's name, Megumi also has Fushiguro.
SPOILERS Gojo stopped Megumi being “sold to” the Zenin clan, but I’m not sure exactly what was meant by that, as Megumi is already Zenin (well, half Zenin, half ). Megumi was too young to be taken in by the school at that point, so I’m not sure what happened in between.
@@dajtoad1 MANGA SPOILERS because toji had left the clan before megumi’s birth, megumi, by extension, wasn’t apart of the zenin clan either. Only by blood is he related to them.

We talk about Megumi being ‘sold’ to the Zen’in, but at the same time, he seems to be totally free to take his place amongst them if he wants, no charge (at the end, he seems to be the designated heir)

Few years later they disappeared and gojo popped out and told megumi that his dad sold him back to the zenin clan because he developed the zenin’s hereditary technique. Which is to control 10 curses. (Shadow dogs, the frog, the bird, the elephant, the snake). Gojo stopped that sale and took him under his wing

My first introduction to your channel was you guys watching JJK season one so it’s freaking awesome to be back and OH BOY buckle up because Hidden Inventory/Premature Death and the Shibuya Incident arc are the two best arcs in the series but honestly every arc pops off from here on out. And yes that is Toji motherfucking Fushiguro THE daddy of Megumi and of JJK. Also this will be the most wholesome and sweetest season of an anime you will ever see. I am lying and crying as I remember. But shit about to go crazy.
Actual fun fact: This episode was leaked 12 hours before official release, it had BAD fansubs. I watched it, Gojo in the basketball court here says 'Is that a moral argument?' In the bad fan subs he said 'Is that a sex theory?'
I saw that (after seeing Crunchyroll version), as some reactors used leaked version. The looks of confusion on their faces at some points (especially that one) were hilarious! Lesson for everybody - wait a few hours for the official version.
I can’t remember if they are ‘officially’ special grade at this point, but they both have special grade capacity. Although SPOILER Gojo is about to get a significant power up. Not because he suddenly gets more powerful as such, just that he gains further understanding about what he can do and develops skills (at this point, he doesn’t have red or purple, or use 6 eyes and limitless to full capacity). In the very latest chapters of the manga (so stop if you don’t want to know), Gojo has powered up yet again, but also, it’s about use of technique, not “I am suddenly, inexplicably more powerful now”.
