I think the works pipe. When they showed the line of 2 stroke pipes Bills makes. The one on the right all blued out with the pie cuts. Is Tig. It has to be.
+Marek Sumguy I dunno, I just feel like if it was tig welded the quality would look 30x better and the all around structural integrity would be better as well. But I guess there's a reason he uses his method
+Andreas Kl Defiantly not cheaper. Hes Oxy Fuel welding. All it is is a torch head, hoses, 1 oxygen tank, and 1 acetylene tank. Which you can get for a couple hundred dollars vs a whole welding machine along with Argon tank, torch, hoses, etc.
jdh023 , you don't understand. Its not about superior welding its about the lost art, the look , going back in time. Obviously TIG is the choice thesedays because it is superior.
+motoxbuddy its not a lost art. your just not in the welding industry. its a big world with a lot of shit going on I could see how you could assume its a lost procedure. but frankly its not, its used where its needed. like brazing and re-fusing saw blades and countless other things. acetylene welding should not be used to weld pipe. tig would be the correct process. and it should be purge welded.
Many people asking why they use oxy acetylene and not TIG. For this application it's better. It heats up a bigger area (HAZ) so there's reduced stress buildup and it prevents cracking. The brackets are bent roughly into shape but still need fine tuning. Having a torch handy is essential. Adding filler is easy if there a gap. There's a good reason virtually all mild steel two stroke pipes are still oxy acetylene welded.
@Badass Skeptic Bill's Pipes are a small manufacturer. But their pipe design makes the engine work better than the others. They have the ability to get just the right diameter in just the right spot. Not everyone can do this regardless of how much money they have. I would buy Bill's Pipes any day of the week!
2Stroke Tyson and?? I still see bills pipe and that and fmf is all I run. All the times I got a bike with a PC system on it I ripped that rubbish off and put on a fmf or bills
Best pipe that added instant power to my 125, had a PC before the bills pipe and did nothing for my bike. felt like having a standard pipe on. But when I bolted bills pipe on WOW! is all I can say..
nah bro my pro circuit bike is still going strong, the nickel plating seems to be peeling in areas but other than that no reason quite yet to go out and get me a new pipe.... You have a bills pipe on your bike bro?
This seems a lot more primitive than I was expecting. But it makes me want one more now. Had most of the others, but never a Bill's. Just visited the site, but I didn't see my new bike fitment listed yet.
excellent echappement !!! tester et approuver !!! idem fmf et pro circuit , aussi bon, excellente sonoriter et tres bonne puissance a tous les regimes !!!.
Good to see this experienced buffoon of a welder has a profoundly deep understanding of the importance of wearing the relevant safety clothing for his particular field of expertise. He truly is a guiding light to all upcoming safety conscious young craft engineers. I blame Bill for his slap happy approach to adherance of the most basic safety standards in such an enviroment. Might be a great product but I just hope the insurance broker doesn't happen to see this video $$$$$$$$
Knock three times on the ceiling,,, twice on the pipe, means you ain’t gonna show. That funky grove tune is worth the price of admission alone. Getting jiggy with that bad boy. More development is in the pipeline.
the pipe that is blue linded like the heat lines on that. do you guys make those for 85 sence they are awsome and i need to get for Christmas. i have 2008 rm85 amd 2003 rm85 hoo much would it be to get 2 of those pipes
All the fast rm 250 s who were not sponsored were using bills pipes on their bikes because they work. FMF and PC have the cool logos and stickers but bills has the goods.
There must be a reason they are not GTAW welded. They do the same at FMF I think. (EDIT) "we are like an ugly fate chick. We have to try harder." lol this guy is my hero
+jonno85uk I have one on my rm250 too. Crazy top end, but I don't enjoy it that much since I'm a woods rider. Hopefully I'll get my flywheel weight put on soon to help with that.
Tack welding doesn't take much. It's pretty common for people (including myself) to just close their eyes while completing the tack. Tack welds are only meant to be temporary till the final welding can be completed.
its not because he's tack welding. with oxy fuel welding you don't need a full mask because it's not as bright and/also because uv rays aren't given off.
Are you interested in quoting us a set of dies that will produce a 90 degree elbow that is small on one end and larger on the other for a line of our 30.5cc engines? We can supply the drawings.
Yes that's how we learned too. Well most of us. One kid reached up to pull his goggles down with a lit torch and burned his hair and head bad straight to the hospital and stunk the work area up
I don't get why they oxy weld the pipes together instead of Tig? The only reason I can think of is having less reinforcement on the inside I guess a flatter weld
its just generally a starter bike, and those right it GENERALLY, but not always, have no idea of aftermarket parts, or how to ride, as its a starter bike.
theres a report that a magazine did on like all the top brands and bills was known for the mid range. my yz250 would rip from down below so much sooner than the stock pipe
hallo from indonesia, borneo west kutai barat,in small villij barong tongkok,i have suzuky satria 2 stroke 1999,me make a motorcross, only thet sound not good,if like to buy how much, but dont too expensive im cannot buy, please info.me how i got 1,thank you sir,gbu
Dam I'd love to weld up those pipes and fabricate them.. I don't understand why they haven't changed over to Tig welding there exhausted there would have to be a reason maybe better weld penetration more flat and easier to control the weld puddle
Verdi I'm pretty sure it's because when you take a piece of cold metal and join it with another cold piece of metal using localized welding is not ideal. The surface that wasn't heated to the same temperature as the welded surface will undergo a molecular change once heated in uniformity by a running engine. Thus creating areas of fatigue, eventually distortion will take place and cracks will form. Not that he is welding aluminum but welding aluminum with a torch and flux is stronger than TIG welding. You temper the joint and area around it to even hardness.
hey FMF and ProCircuit might be good pipes but seriously, i rather support a small business like these guys that actually build their products by hand and not mass produce
Can some professional welder tell me the basics of welding, i want to weld a 4 stroke exhaust and some framework and i really need some tips and tricks and a welder recommendation
What would happen if you put a 4 stroke pipe with i mean like no expansion chamber on a 2 stroke what would happen and what would happen if you put a 2 stroke pipe on a 4 stroke?
+Honda Cr 500. the 2strokes always have the poppimg noise thats just the motor warming up my 2stroke its an 85 even when its a 160 degess after a race it will do that its just the motor theres nothing to worry about😊
i started making pipes in the sixty,s all hand rolled and gas welded its the only way ,it neat if you are young as i have got older the welds are crapier, you cant see and your hands shake
