these footballs were made for super bowl 40 18 years ago and the process is almost the exact same for every nfl football today

They're in the process of opening a much bigger and better facility next do to this one. This place has very little room to move around due to the volume of footballs they make. They're going to continue to make them this way in the new facility, along with adding NBA Basketballs, and more. I grew up blocks from this place and had a tour years ago.

I think those are not for covering cuts but for preventing them.

The first footballs were made out of pig bladders covered with leather. So...the leather part was the "skin for the pig." When Mr. Goodyear figured out how to vulcanize rubber, they stopped using pig bladders.

Only their top-range, genuine leather college football and NFL balls. Their merchandise/collectors' stuff and artificial leather balls are made all over the world like in Vietnam, Turkey and what not. Wilson itself is owned by a Finnish conglomerate.

@@I_WANT_MY_SLAW No the footballs they are making in the video are made of real leather and are mostly handcrafted. The footballs in the video cost about $100, composite footballs are much cheaper

In the 80' you could get a Wilson footballs for 35 dollar but now Wilson footballs 150 dollars
