Me as a PTSD Guardsmen seeing the treatment center next to the Servitor Factory.... "I'm suddenly okay with seeing my buddy Flayed by a night lord in front of me" Edit. Since this comment is getting traction 24 hour Horus Heresy Video, Tau for the next video and lets have Isyander be the Hype man for Erebus so I can say "Where is your God Emperor now?!"

The Space marine 2 thing is even worse. The blind guy was blinded trying to clean up a fuel spill (after multiple days without rest or sleep) and was to be converted into a servitor as punishment for incompetence. The only reason he didn't get his brain cut up is because someone has to dive into the septic tank and the ad mech consider the job to be beneath a servitors augments.

For a moment i thought you are going to mention, how the admech is likely just severing the connection of self to body from servitors instead of properly mindwiping and destroying it. So there are likely servitors who have their old self just imprisoned deep within, with no way to express themselves.

None of them know what they're building, why they're doing it, or about anything that lies beyond their planet. 10:05 that's not actually what dark age of technology means, the dark age of technology WAS actually those good times you were talking about and was the golden age of humanity but due to the Age of Strife most of that tech is lost. Is that an SR-71 model kit!? That’s my favorite plane! It can sustain speeds of mach 3.2 for hours, can cross the USA in an hour, and can fly higher than any other plane. Even now it’s unsurpassed in speed and altitude.

I like the theory that the Machine rebelion in 40K was an I robot style rebelion rather than a Terminator style rebelion. Machines that were programmed to protect human life learned of the warp and the threat it posed and all they could do to try and fulfil their programming was to A) try and force a galactic factory reset by wiping out all life in the galaxy and then re-seeding humanity after the warp has calmed down. Or B) Give humanity a forceful push into transendance by uploading their minds and then purging the fleshy soul filled part that is connected to the threat.

I remember hearing one 40K short story where a Noble heir visiting a forge world was servitorized after he reflexively insulted the Magos upon sight of the human suffering. Even Nobility isn't a protection. and it wasn't an accident either, as the Magos saw him being dragged away and smiled cruelly.

@@kevinwalker6840 Justin D Hill is the author of the book. As for the in-universe reason, many noble houses buy specialty-made servitors from the Mechanicus for a myriad of different purposes. A toy servitor would be able to animate and play with their masters, unlike a real toy, and as such would be much sought after. They could also serve as a secret guard for the heir should they come under assault, as many servitors are equipped with hidden weaponry to defend the nobility they serve under, should the need arise.

I'm gonna offer the olive branch, a vote for T'au. I will also proffer the idea of a book club for Flesh and Steel. It's a pretty good novel, and the novel is whete the scene of the kumquat being tazered into a pit came from. The main character is just as uncomfortable with the goings-on there as Koda was.

I don't know if you two have played Darktide yet, but if not, the main "healing station" in the game is a medicae servitor that's fused to a stationary machine that injects you with healing fluid, and retracts back inside the machine when it's out of juice. The only thing is, sometimes when it retracts back into the medicae station you can hear it saying stuff like "Can you take me with you? Please, I am so lonely." Or "System failure. Why does it hurt? Help. Help. *Help."*

The "mixer" is called a mechanical mixing unit. The UH-60 has the same thing. It takes input from the flight controls and routes the output through rods, levers, and cables to the component being controlled. For helicopters it can take cyclic movements which controls pitch and roll, routes through the mixer to the swashplate to the rotor blades so you can turn and climb and such.

Also, used to work on CRTs when I worked on arcade games. There have been color tvs for quite some time. Like the first ones were from the 50s through rca but were crazy expensive compared to other units. For arcades they got around color in a really cool way. Some of the 70s and early 80s games would have an upwards facing monitor that would reflect off of a mirror that had colors and designs on it. My favorite example is the original space invaders cabinet.

Missile guidance systems are actually pretty low tech in the grand scheme of computing things, you could absolutely do one with a graphing calculator. The tricky bits are just the gyroscopes used to tell it how its moving, which definitely isn't computers, just some fancy whetstone bridges, whatever sensor it has for seeing where its target is, and for advanced ones the bluetooth between the missile and the radar which is tracking where its target is. And aside from the Bluetooth, all of that is WW2 tech. Of course, you can also get a pigeon to guide a missile for you, so it could very well be that they just cram a servitor into the missile and get it to guide it to the target.
