He has one of the best footwork of all time. How he gets to his hook shots, fadeaways and step throughs is unstoppable. He can do a fake reverse spin fadeaway and use the step through wit even using a right hand layup off the glass as counters. His post game off the dribble is unstoppable, never seen anything like this. He has a ground bound style of game with not a lot of fancy stuff, just a bully ball style wit finesse. There’s a certain rhythm he has that gets defenders constantly off balance
@clumsyaf6250
@clumsyaf6250 Месяц назад
Well said, love he’s style of play poetry in motion
@anthonycelestin3559
@anthonycelestin3559 Месяц назад
@@clumsyaf6250 He can literally get any shot he wants in the midrange or in the paint. Teams got to trap him & double him in order to stop him but sometimes he splits the double by doing that up & under step through move across the lane & he makes the shot over 2 guys. It’s hard to double Brunson, it seems like u got to double him from the top of the key & double him before he even makes a move or a shot. Also Coach Nick only broke down his midrange & post game arsenal but never broke down his 3 point shot. Brunson is also taking and making more 3s this year compared to last year, attempting 7 threes per game on 40% and he’s taking more pull up 3s & stepback 3s. Knicks can win it all wit the roster they have now and they maybe better without Randle cause Randle is a ball stopper that’s inefficient. Brunson is such a hard matchup, teams will be in trouble if they don’t find a way to gameplan against him
@WHG369
@WHG369 Месяц назад
@anthonycelestin3559 not better without Randle. Brunson has to score too much. In the playoffs it's asking alot 35 pts per game. Randle was a beast b4 he got hurt. It gave Brunson time to rest on the floor and less interior work meaning less wear and tear. All that post play along with the charges. We are fortunate he hasn't gotten seriously hurt
@anthonycelestin3559
@anthonycelestin3559 Месяц назад
@@WHG369 I understand what your saying but Randle can be detrimental. These last few years in the playoffs Randle has been a brick machine. Sometimes Randle hurts the team more than he helps it. But you’re right, it’s a large offensive load for Brunson to carry by himself without Randle. I’m just unsure about Julius Randle, he’s just a wild card and he’s consistently bad in the playoffs

Brunson is a player who has great fundamentals. again and again, players who have that are very successful. it may not be as flashy for some people (it is for me though) nobody can negate effects of players like Brunson, Luka and TheBigFundamental Duncan. While Duncan is in HOF, Luka probably is already in it if he stops playing today, if Brunson continues this trajectory in the future he will be in as well. Coaches of young players should take notice of that. What Mavs were thinking when they let him go is beyond me...

There's the Sistine Chapel. And then there's Jalen Brunson's footwork and the speed with which he makes decisions in the paint to give himself a chance to score. That's something even someone who doesn't really get the sophisticated details of basketball can see - with his mouth open. Nothing gives me more joy than watching him go to work - and hard work it is. No individual payer since I became a fan - '68 - has me shaking my he'd so often that I need a neck brace. The world sucks. Jalen Brunson is an artist who has the chance to create a masterpiece every time down the floor. I wanted 40.

He gives his all during the playoff he is tough ,he is incredibly skilled and crafty he just made me fell in love with the player. You are no mavs fan you just talk for the sake of talking. We are doing just fine without him. Top 3 team in the league after the trades

@@happypill6195those aren’t mutually exclusive… there’s no question Donnie and Cuban royally fucked that situation. Brunson was willing to sign the 5/$55M extension twice and the Mavs said “we’ll see” then tried offering it immediately after the trade deadline passed (ie they were absolutely trying to flip him for a “superstar” and got no takers) to which he rightfully said nah. Idk if Brunson becomes THIS good-or gets the chance to demonstrate it-playing 2nd to Luka but letting him walk for literally nothing in return when you could’ve locked him up through 2026 at $11M/year? That’s one of Cuban/Donnie’s worst screw ups ever. At that money you still could’ve gotten a Kyrie or another max guy AND had Brunson on the best value contract in the entire league. Just because it seems to have worked out well for both sides doesn’t mean the Mavs didn’t fuck up. And we still don’t know if there will be future consequences that’ll be traced directly back to that decision. You’ve already had to spend your entire decade’s draft capital to in part overcome letting Jalen walk just to finally put some pieces around Luka. That’s a massive sunk cost. Now god forbid Luka doesn’t sign his supermax or sours on DAL-Kyrie will be gone, you’d instantly be a bottom 5 team or worse who has to give away unprotected lottery picks through 2030. I’ve just painted the apocalyptic scenario, but I bet you’d feel differently if it occurs knowing you could’ve at least still had Brunson if every Mavs fans worst nightmare does become reality.

@@dsmith2420 bruv i m not gonna read all that lmao. We got Kyrie who in a playoff situatio is a much better player. You will see brunson exit in first round and you will see us going to the WCF

@@happypill6195 100% nobody can dispute that. Doesn’t mean failing to lock him up for $11M/yr through 2026 wasn’t still a bad mistake. You’re still going after a Kyrie type #2 with Brunson at that value. And he very well may lose round 1 facing a 7-seed PHI or MIA is brutal.

A shame for the injuries on the Knicks, I thought they would be conference finals lock and could maybe upset Boston. With Randle out it's gonna be very hard

They have gotten better with moving without the ball 🏀 but they still could get better at it.

What does the NBA rule book say about shoulder checking the defender with all your weight over and over? I see Giannis doing it too and wondering how this is legal? If a defender started shoulder bashing the dribbler it would be a flagrant. If I tried this in a pickup game I would be fist fighting people every weekend. It’s odd that this is allowed.

I know this might sound crazy, but imagine a backcourt that featured Luka Doncic and Jalen Brunson. Two young stars both entering their primes and playing off each other really well. I reckon if you had them on the same team at any point, you really wouldn’t want to let one of them go because you didn’t want to pay one of them… I reckon that’d be a big mistake, it’s just a good thing no one has made that mistake before…
