I disagree. A lot of Japanese are feeling frustrated with no socially accepted outlet for their anger. There is enormous pressure to fit in. So when someone blows a fuse like this guy it gets pretty bad. The Japanese also like to go all the way when they set their mind to something, so this guy built a gun himself to commit the deed.

Actually not surprised, alot of Japanese people are already getting frustrated with the Japanese society and the pressure they do against the common folk. Crimes are not that much big in Japan but usually if someone commits it, it's usually pretty horrible.

For me, as a 19-year-old, the image of the prime minister was Mr. Abe. I did not agree with all of his policies, but after hearing the news of his death, I feel like I have a big hole in my heart.

And unfortunately i do not know what policies he do (being a Filipino), but i can only say that since he was a right-wing nationalist, he downplays their wartime history and it angered both the South Koreans and the Chinese, the countries that were annexed (plus North Korea) and were invaded and massacred; respectively. However, the killer said it had nothing to do with his policies, it's about the church...

Although they were ready, they did not imagine it coming. Knowing well that their nation has tight laws on firearms. Perhaps they assumed that the threats would consist of throwing stones or stabbing, nothing too severe. Besides the gun was homemade.

This is just a ridiculous comment. It looked nothing like a shotgun and was tucked in his clothes. Security are not superhuman, they cannot outrun bullets when they spot a gun. The only way to prevent these events is by having vetted audiences that are searched before hand, which is not something Japan has had to do previously. American presidents would hold impromptu events in the middle of the street too if there weren't 200 years of political assassinations in our country.

In my view, Japan should start to become more vigilant in the streets and in service shops like convenience stores, small cafes, department stores etc. The crime rate here is slowly rising because of the lack of discipline they're getting and some teenagers are becoming more delinquent.
