In India patriotism means just shouting and showing how much you love your country. In japan its all about contributing to your country through hardwork. 🙌
Japan was a dharmic country for 1500 years it was after Meiji restoration that dharma had less influence in Japanese society until 1700 Russians used to call Japan as little India

I feel jealous from Japan how a country with no resources become a superpower just bcoz of Unity and selfless love for the country and when I see India people start burning infrastructure and destroy public property it hurts I hope one day think school will make a Case study on India 🇮🇳 about how India became a superpower
You need to understand for Japan people are its resource and they are some of the most disciplined and skilled people in the world... That is the best resource a country can have.... On the contrary India may have more natural resources but has a huge unskilled, lazy and indiscipline population... We would always prefer free money than hard work... I am not blaming anyone here but it's just in our nature..
@@kunal25roy Nothing about nature here. What we need is brainwashing of kids and drilling in them the values of nationalism and ethics. The situation here is so pathetic that a girl in my class got offended when someone outside shouted vande mataram.
If you observe most people who became industrial workers after 1945 are ex-military(1.3 crore)... discipline is part of their life and a great thing is they passed it on to next generation.
in my oppinion the agnipath soldiers would be the 1st step where, after 5 years these soldiers would turn into disciplaned worf force and will work in thr best manner possible to help india groww
That’s very old news buddy. And tbh it was not friendship per se, it was more akin to the enemy of my enemy is my friend. The way Japan acted with the Chinese and the Koreans, I can say with 100% certainty that if we kicked the Brits out and Japan somehow survived the war, they would have slaughtered us like dogs (they would make the Brits look like saints 👀)
I've heard a Japanese news somewhere that bus drivers started a protest in Japan, not like burning down buses or damaging them, instead they did their job , ran their buses but refused to accept payments from customers , a smart protest without affecting the transport eco-system
Japan 🇯🇵 is very interesting. They lived over 200 years in isolation just to emerge as a world power in "a very short time". Then it took a couple nukes to stop them and recovered in "a very short time". There's a Japanese saying ' anything crafted in Japan, takes a century to master '. Feels like they have mastered growing in a short time.
Japan received billions of dollars in weapons, materiel and technology by American and European powers for volunteering to fight the Russians. Before that, Japan was a poor nation. Japan did not have electricity until the Americans had built a power station. Japan is a nation that was created by the American and European powers. In a sense they were like China today Before the 70s or 80s . They spied on western civilizations. ( their technologies & innovations) It wasn't until 1978-79 or so that they learnt to build superior cars. It came very sudden, within a years time.
@@shashibhushangotur3150 And where are you now? I just returned to Bangalore,India and will soon in Samsung Headquarter, Seoul. As Electrical engineer from IITB
I have deep admiration for Japanese people. But their work culture is very hard on their family lives. We should learn from them but also remember family and free time matters.
Absolutely right! It should also be kept in mind that the Japanese and Bharatiya civilization differ from each other. The culture and mindset and history is very very different
It's just overly exaggerated. Nowadays it's not really tough. They worked hard because few decades ago they would spend their life in one large company. For promotion, they would work hard. Nowadays jobs can be quit easily. It still isn't best though, but government is pushing it, and the system would keep improving. They also have labour unions.
This is very true, but let's remember the reason why they are so diligent with their work. They have had to rebuild their country and economy (no small task), so their strict dedication is absolutely necessary. Their parenting style and value system of not putting their individual wants and needs before the good of the collective also plays a part. I wish my country had such drive and vision!
I really like how American companies are simply based on money (like GM would cancel deal with supplier if it gets lower cost from another one) but the Japanese are based on *values and care* . They went to help suppliers in back and forth operations to keep things smooth and hence Toyota outclassed GM. And in India, Tatas do the same
Nothing like that u know what all the Japanese army after fighting were diverted to factory hence they were disciplined all the Kaizen TQM can be sumed up simpy as a disciplined workforce
I am a big fan of Japan but you need to see the video The Dark Side of Japan - and even that does not cover all the negative aspects such as the brutal working conditions of the salary men - who are not allowed to leave their desk for lunch; the ritual humiliation in front of colleagues if you make a mistake, the racism towards non-Japanese etc. India does not have the ethnic homogeneity and serf-like collective mindset which many younger Japanese and the millions of 'shut-ins' who never leave their bedrooms once they become adults have rejected.
Their is one more reason behind their miracle growth that is at that time they have mostly young people whose average age lies between 20-30 and that helps them. They had guided their youngsters in a right path to grow the country. What india can learn is that we also have currently 65% of population age is less then 35 and this is the time we become the massive economy . So we need to guide our youngsters to grow our country . Ultimately we all just want country growth.
A huge percentage of this young Indian population is unskilled when compared to global standards. You cannot use human resources unless they have adequate skills. Just the existence of a young human isn't enough.
@@EdwinTyler so what you think when they were at this stage they have their youngsters who know every skills . Obviously not , their governments implemented right process . They skilled them and use them in a right way . That's what need to get it in our country.
15:41 and 15:35 that's the points , that's it....... • The attitude of the people is the most powerful instrument to a country's prosperity , and • No matter how many policies you come up with if the people ( a major number )are complacent and do not have the attitude to grow the country will never progress .
I spend few days in Tokyo. One striking feature was 'no wastage of anything'. Few years before this visit I had an opportunity to meet a senior Jute specialist in Kolkata. Japanese are die hard loyal to quality. It's in their genes. We Indians have many things to learn from them. Thank you for this video.
Defeat is not end of Japan. In future we will be the strongest nation : Emperor Hirohito. Today Japan has made this statement true due to its discipline and hardwork. But Japan is going to face some major problem like population decline, aged population, stagflation and Japanese economy has stucked on 5 trillion dollars from the 90's
You talked about the just in time method which is included in our syllabus of cost and management accounting, but the way you explained it was outstanding. You showed the practical applicability of the concept. I just love your case studies and wish all the best for your journey.
Its also worth stating that post WW2 - Japan's security and defences are guaranteed by US. This allows them to divert the limited resources in more productive areas - ex upskilling, infrastructure etc.
Great video overall. Some considerations: 1. Defence spending wasn't cut voluntarily and cheap credit was provided by US for building a bulwark against communism. 2. Japan wasn't colonised and it's wealth wasn't plundered. 3. Indian public sector workers weren't inherently complacent. They were looking out for their basic needs not provided for by the government, whereas US credit helped Japan to provide better social security.
I am a student but I don't agree with u, most of the indian don't pay taxes they uses some underhand tricks to buypess them... And too he honest the gov employees which u talk about are all people like us who goes to work their but they only think do corruption.. Instead of blaming other we should just work hard because after all we are the one's who run this country
The real reason was the Korea war. After the US occupied Japan, the US was ready to punish Japan. The US decided to not allow Japan to have any heavy industry. The Japan could only rely on agriculture and certain light industry. The Korea war broke out. The US badly needed nearby supply chains. That enabled Japan war time industry to recover very quickly. Japan and Taiwan were two of the biggest beneficiaries of the Korea war.
Amazing summary of why Japan is successful. Just wanted to add that the concept of "Monozukuri" is deeply embedded. And, Japanese take immense pride in their products and always look at ways for continuous improvement or "Kaizen".
Hi Ganesh🖐️ I just want to thank you and your team to help us understand the complex topics in simplest way. Japan’s education system is not just regurgitating memorised texts. It teaches responsibility as a citizen, civic sense & civic duties, & a very dedicated work ethic. That India can emulate. Defence spending: Japan had the luxury of US defeence umbrella & being an island nation had little to worry abt from less powerful neighbours at that time. India does not hv that luxury. India has to spend even more on its defence than it is already spending. Japanese democracy is very turbulent & like all democracies corrupt. But the line is drawn when it comes to Japan’s National interest. In India it is opposite. Indian politicans act as stooges of foreign countries & the vast majority of educated & affluent & individually wealthy Indians are mor concerned with making their personal Fortunes at the cost & to the detriment of India. The amount spent on “minor irrigation projects” & “ rural development” over last 70 years will attest to the FACT that it has all been one massive laundering machine for siphoning out money into pockets of politicans & bureaucrats. Not being a democracy has ONE tyrant. Indian democracy has 5Lakh tyrants at all levels of the food chain whose gravy train squeezes the common man & small businesses. A nation with such a system can only take 2 steps fwd & one step backwards & remain a nation with “potential”, a potential whose realisation is a mirage, though, one would like & hope to believe otherwise. ⚓️⚔️🇮🇳
@@VitaminProtein4256 I think he wasn't talking about literal education but was applauding the brainwash done by the japanese to instill moral values and nationalism in the kid's brains.
If you observe most people who became industrial workers after 1945 are ex-military(1.3 crore unemployed from military)... discipline, hard working and selfless love for their country is part of their life and a great thing is they passed it on to the next generation.
And we Indians are so lucky that we have politicians who question the integrity of the soldiers who risk their lives for us and they question them while standing in the fukin parliament, how truly lucky we are.
The main thing you forgot to mention is their honesty and extreme perfection behind their success. Love your contents and thanks for your great contribution.
When govt is securing citizen's job, its citizens responsibility to work extra hard to return the favour. But unfortunately the govt employees in India are the most lazy and corrupt and in almost all cases, govt institutes makes a loss annually.
In India ,people burn Buses and Trains for Jobs where as in Japan, People are burning 🔥 their brains for innovation and quality work. Difference is felt between both countries the way both economies are performing. As an Indian, I request all to take inspiration from Japanese people and also learn about " True Patriotism " . Jai Hind 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
It is the attitude and aptitude of people that makes all the difference. Changing the Psyche of the masses is not simple. Riddled with many challenges such as the mindset 'What is in it for me?'. As if that is not enough there will be lot of invisible forces both internal and external that will constantly try to play on the emotions of poorly informed people and sabotage the whole game.
US actually did not allow to keep Japan it's army. They wanted to control Asia. India cannot afford to do that. Even after USA bombing they are friends. US control most Japanese army bases.. India technically cannot learn a lot from Japan. The demography is different, situation is different and threats are different.
I thought US wanted Japan to keep its military so that it could combat the Soviet Union and Communist China , but Japan themselves decided to demilitarize

Comparing Indians with Japanese no way they value time most .. Most of the people in India actually don't want to learn let it be school, college, job , but want a upper middle class status that's the reason we value entertainment more often
i had a trainer from japan, he learnt little small words of kannada rather than English... i asked why they don't learn English his reply is very simple, they don't focus on unwanted things........ yet he is the most humble person every met with principle's and focus....They interchangeable manufacturing is far ahead .
How do you come up with such interesting topics:)) Kudos to the Think School team😍🙏🏻❤💙 I think there are many reasons for Japan being so developed and rich even after the Nuclear Attack. 1. Japanese people are really smart and hardworking same goes with the politicians....They have a futuristic vision and that's why it's said that Japan is 10 years ahead the world 2. Support from the US (as many have said in the comments) Edit: One more point I would like to add is the Quality of Education.....Indian education system is a trash But that doesn't mean that the Japanese society is perfect (Everything has pros and cons)
Ok. Now hear the real truth: *every USA ALLY (MOSTLY SLAVE COUNTRY) ARE DEVELOPED AND RESPECTED* after defeating Japan the United States led the Allies in the occupation and rehabilitation of the Japanese state. Between 1945 and 1952, the U.S. occupying forces, led by General Douglas A. MacArthur, enacted widespread military, political, economic, and social reforms. *AND REASON BEHIND IT WAS RUSSIA* USA knew that if they don't help them, Russia would and Japan could become an ally of Russia. And one of the biggest enemy like North Korea. And INDIA we had our own policies, India was, India is, India will remain on it's own. We are not slave countries like EU or south korea and japan. Whatever we have, we have paid for it. So we don't need lessons we are not Japan. Jai hind 🇮🇳 🙏🏻
This video gives a great insight into the government's and citizen's relationship and the difference between just seeking the profits like GM and the Japanese way of managing a company. BLESSED TO HAVE THIS CONTENT FOR FREE
The fact is japan does not have any conflicting neighbourhood countries. They are seperate country in its culture and does not share any land. Indian has geography problem, where it has army deployed in dessert, mountain, snow, coastal (sea) and land. Very good Analysis.
1. Discipline 2. Dedication, devotion, loyalty to country,3. Less corruption. Japan moves. India behind because 1. Corruption and selfish mentality 2. Less discipline 3.no value of talented people. 4. No unity. 5. Leftist mentality.
Post 1990 "LOST decades" Japan is in a sluggish economy phase.. the society is ageing, there is social withdrawal among youth - Hikikomori, Japanese work culture has led to Karoshi- death due to over work... Japan has reached the sixth stage of demographic transition ( post mass consumption stage) as per some experts .....
Something similar to hikikomori is happening in the west too. It's called NEET, a term coined in the UK. These NEET community is extremely toxic af. I just saw a post on an anonymous community forum called 4chan wherein the guy who made the post explains why black lives doesn't matter.
Sometimes I really feel India just doesn't innovate or make bold moves when I see the achievements of East Asian countries. We just seem so stuck up in the past to step up and acknowledge our sad situation and change course. Hope it won't be too late before we wake up for good.
Japan is a monoculture nation, deeply spiritual and disciplined in social responsibility! These values and their need to raise above their humiliation of defeat and destruction made them even more committed to go forward without failure and every individual contributed to it!

I mean it depends on how you see it. Maybe he felt with Abe gone now, his importance needs to be emphasized much more. Or maybe he put it in there as a tribute. OR maybe he really is trying to milk the trend. We can't say for sure.
Main point is that Japanese are not divided on the basis of region, religion or language ie they all come from same culture and ofcource the small population
First of all the Indian Govt. Jobs need good management. When there is no pressure at the job & given too much respect, productivity becomes 0. That's why a Private company owner has very good knowledge & better understanding than the government employee who get fixed pay on monthly basis & gets a fair hike each year, in front of them a business stakeholder has urge to build a larger business everyday so he can earn more profit. Lastly, most of the Indians are interested in filling their own pockets instead of working for their country & do something productive.
That used to be true and still true in many cases, I work at a private company that manufacture data centre components. we were approached by RBI's Architects who wanted to purchase our solution and we were stumped by the amount of knowledge they had about our products and when I asked them how do they know so much? they said they need to clearly articulate why they chose our products over another in the market for internal government audit. That just made my day, we are changing may be not as fast as the Japanese but surely we are. The sad reality is many Indians want India to become like Singapore or Japan which is a clean and developed nation but will never be like a Singaporean or Japanese this needs to change
Who told you there is no pressure in government job, all the government departments are highly under staffed and are on tight budget, highly bureaucratic nature of these jobs leaves no space for innovation and flexibility which result in demotivated staff and decreased productivity.
Govt employees does more job then private company now this days. 1 man does 4 mans job. Check the vacant post of govt sectors. While private company pay low salary and 2 worker for 1 worker salary. Private company killing the market slowly. While keeping the whole or more profit. Don't forget all the money private company use is tax payers money credited from bank. 1st of all stop supporting corporate salavary We r human being we also have family and desires we can think can fell we are not machine.
@@Warrukbadikpapa private companies do not get their money as tax payers money from bank , if then why do they pay taxes . The thing you are implying might be the tax credit which some companies get . Private companies get their money from hard earned profits ,hard earned investments from others , and loans from banks . Actually ,it is when loans are given out that money is created, check out credit creation theory of money . Atleast private companies do something productive, produce real goods and services which help the economy and PAY TAXES WHICH ARE USED FOR FUNDING THE PUBLIC SECTOR AND THE GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES , which is not upto the mark as we know.

As an Indian-Japanese, I can truly say both the nations are awesome...... 💜💜 IMO, a problem in India is that there, Patriotism is only felt among Indians usually on Independence day and Republic Day. On any other day, everyone are like "Apna Kaam Banta, G maraye janta". People here are divided more by Hindu/Muslim/etc instead of being united as an Indian. And most importantly, development and repairing in municipal level is "shaata". The roads in my hometown Kharagpur (Bhawanipur Mathpara to be precise), West Bengal, is still the same as the day I stepped on a bee in childhood. Japan on the other side, has true patriotic citizens!! (Hate me if you want, But I can truly say that). They also believe that their work is their real religion, their "dharm". Not like they are atheist, they Just don't make a fuss about it. And if there's a 4.6 earthquake at today morning and the roads got cracked due to it, I can bet my whole life savings on the fact that it'll surely repaired in 3 days.. But hey, yk Japan has a high rate of patient with mental illness (including me). Here work hours are very tight, I work as a High School Maths Teacher and a private chess coach and there were days when I didn't sleep at night, once for 12 days in a row... (May sound fake, but I slept for that whole day- believe it or not). India on the other side, has a _quite_ some-tolerance policy!! If you're not feeling well, get a rest and contribute more on next shift!! Want to go home early for some Puja/occasion... Just tell your manager and get out! Here in Japan, it's quite tough and rare to get a leave early. This comment was not to judge and declare which one is better. It was just to remove some 'misconception' between the youths who might think "Japan is heaven" based on what they see in Anime and Hen 🐓Tie 👔 (based on true experience). Both the countries have their ups and downs, just choose which one suites you the best) 💜

Japanese are really hard working people but sadly the work culture in Japan is toxic due to which there is almost negligible social interaction resulting in lower birth rates and depression but still we can learn a lot from them
Yeah suicide rate is high and young people actually die at jobs cuz of exhaustion, and not having more free time and settling down, if they just relaxed a bit it will help out alot
Japan is one country that everybody loves, especially the Indian people and our Government has had a significant relationship with them from decades onwards we inspire from them a lot because of many factors like Governance, Public, Business models, Their Economy and finance, their hard work and smart work and they are having one of world's best technology, Robotics, Innovative models in everything and also Fast-growing economy and Japan has a world's-best Disaster Management. Japan has one negative point that is people take stress a lot into them due to so much work they do this is leading to so many suicides new concept in this called Mass suicides, it is worrying the Government a lot and in their demographics, another point to be worried is Elder people (60+age) are very high in number than youth and young this makes them think about future insecurity. JAPAN - INDIA are one of the oldest and strongest bonds in the world that every 2 countries should have and it will continue for centuries for sure. JAPAN's leading Multinational companies in the world in Fortune 500: 1. Toyota 2. Honda 3. Mitsubishi (Automobile, Industries, Conglomerate, Electric) 4. Nissan 5. Nippon Group (Telecommunication, Insurance, Steel) 6. Softbank 7. Fujitsu 8. Aeon 9. Panasonic 10. Canon 11. Bridgestone (Automotive) 12. Suzuki 13. Mazda 14. Subaru 15. Toshiba (electronics) 16. Nikon 17. Sony (Conglomerate (it is in the top 10 in Japan I forgot to write in top)) and around 20 more are there in fortune 500 but these are very well-known noted companies. Thank you.
Now i understand why Japanese business owners value relations when doing business. One thing i like to add, in Japan during the initial years, students are taught how to become responsible citizens. Only after that, education begins. Nothing like that happens in India. If i am not wrong, to solve this issue, Netaji and Ambedkar both wanted military training for all able-bodied citizens to impart discipline, patriotism and good behavior. But the idea was rejected by Nehru thinking, it will turn India into a policing state that can negatively affect democracy. I think Agnipath in one way is to try out that idea.
@@amanverma7033 no, our education system is not that good, but its not useless either, if used correctly then it will still benefit you a lot. Just saying dont say that our School dont teach discipline and punctuality. We may not have have that quality of education but without doubt have good level of moral and values if not better.
Japan developed because of USA. If anyone has ever watched Abhijit Chavda's podcast, he knows what I mean to say. In his words, Japan is essentially an American colony, under permanent military occupation. Japanese policy making has influence of American politicians. Even today, they "consult" with US Military Generals before taking any decisions. But but but, Shinzo Abe was a gamechanger. He wants to get independent. He wants to become Atmanirbhar (the Japanese version). Shinzo and his successors are slowly trying to have their own strong military, thus reducing their requirement to stay under US military protection. Especially after Ukrainian crisis, Japanese will not trust the Americans for their security anymore. It's the beginning of the end of America, atleast in the Indo Pacific. Japan and more importantly, 'hamara pyaara Bharat' is going to become the key player of Indo Pacific.
@@churchilkamkb By that logic, Bangladesh should start "consulting" with the Indian Armed Forces, since we saved that country from Pakistan, and granted them independence. Plus point, we didn't even bombed them, and killed a few million people. And extra bonus, we don't even rant about human rights.
Hahaha i wonder who makes such whatsapp University knowledge... japan is a long term ally of US. Japan needs US n so does US need japan. Lol they r even condemning Russia and standing against Russia putting sanctions on Russia. N u say Japan is going away from USA.... maybe u watch République channel a lot it seems🤣🤣🤣
But some important questions that we genuinely need to ask are, "Why did Japanese growth become stagnant and why has it been like that for the last 30 years ?" Who turned the switches ?" "Are their best days behind them ?"
A point I might add: Japan was already a very much industrialised nation when it participated in WW2. It's not that Japan completely lost it's industrial expertise, but lost it's production units during the war.
