I worked 3 years for Marriott hotels and in the yearly meeting they told us (kitchen staff) once that the restaurant made over 3m in pure profit, after some applause the gifted us 50$ Amazon gift cards… everybody was pissed of as fuck
With my last job I discovered a scam where customers were getting referral-based promotions (like 100s of accounts in one address I mean, and they were all referring each other to get promotions) and I reported it, foolishly thinking I'd get a raise out of it. By my estimates the company had lost over $30,000 to this scam and I prevented further losses. All I got was an employee recognition award and no money. I got what Chris Rock said on the Everybody Hates Chris episode "Everybody Hates Bad Boys" in response to a character who asks what do you get as Employee of the Month; "Your regular pay and a kick in the ass."
To be expected from low skill work. It is what it is. High turnover jobs are never going to have a boss that gives a crap, because they are not told or paid to give a crap. They are paid to expect people to quit or need to be fired constantly, and to get ready to cycle the next random person in very quickly and efficiently.
Worked at a nursing home as a CNA for many years. Worked at one place where they promised us a big raise at the end of the year if overall attendance and performance were good. Call-offs were the lowest they ever were in years, falls decreased, bed sores decreased, and we aced the annual state inspection. For all our hard work, we got a whopping ten cent raise 😅😅. I quite shortly after that.

The pandemic caused a lot of people to think about stuff like this and that also includes me and realize that you know what? We don’t have to take BS from employers and quit. People now have more options nowadays because employers are scrambling to hire.
@Rukidding me?! The nursing field is f**** in general. We have too many places that are run by people who have never taken care of a person in their life. But, they have a degree, so that's all that matters. It's caused a lot of people to walk away from the medical field because of all the BS from employers. Then again, I know it's not just the medical field that has those problems. Employers have to start stepping up if they expect the same from their employees. Otherwise, we are going to keep seeing what you just stated. It's really sad.
That’s why they also have a safety or performance expectations talk just before or while while eating so they can say it was for a legitimate business related meeting.
Don’t feel too bad, we used to get monthly pizza. But ever since covid, we don’t get those anymore. Employee appreciation month we didn’t get or hear anything about it. And we were supposed to get our raises in February, now we’re not getting them till April lol
The car salesman is pretty darn good though. But you can tell he has worked at Walmart for at least 2 years before he started his RU-vid channel. He knows all the ins & outs of that place😂😂 I mean, I've never worked there, but I do shop there. And he has me sold😂

I used to work at sams club once and One time where we had the "we are a family" type of meeting. My co worker at the time (which is a 65 year old fork lift driver) asked if we are getting a pay raise and the manager just stood there then the 65 year old looked at me and the rest of the crew and said "I guess where not getting a pay raise just same old meeting as usual". Then he walked out. The rest of us just stood there trying not to laugh 😂
Bro that’s better than what they used to do for workers back at my old sanitation job. There was an old man that used to work with us and he’d been in sanitation with the company for over 25 years, and when we were having our daily stretches and meeting before going in to clean our manager says “Oh and let’s congratulate Alfredo for 26 years with the company, everyone clapped until someone asked “So what’s he getting” the manager looked stumped and then he reaches into his wallet and pulls out 20 bucks and a 40 dollar Dennys meal card.😂 Later that night we all made a plan to throw the oldman a party/potluck on Friday night and we brought him a cake, and someone gave him a 100 dollar gift card, plus we had tamales, egg rolls, pizza and tons of chips and soda. Our manager having his ego hurt went and brought him another gift card and gave him a company jacket that people usually either get when promoted to supervisor or had to buy for like 80 bucks.
I remember when it was inventory week and we worked crazy OT to get the store right. These managers had the nerve to give us $5 gift cards to Walmart… I told them they can keep that shit

Mannnn, when I worked at Big Lots, the managers always bought a bunch of Pizza from Pizza Hut and I would snag like 5-6 slices everytime. We even had cane’s chicken and for some reason, they brought out a fruit tray with cheese on it. You best believe I took a bunch of cheeses home and cooked them with my eggs in the morning, lmao.
My coworker who’s like 60 btw, made an outstanding $2Mil in sales last year in her department alone and she was gifted belvita cookies and a $25 Google play card… we’re a union store and if she were in a non-union store the incentive would’ve been $10,000🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ I felt so sick for her I can’t even look her in the eyes anymore
I would've suggested she leave the company, but at 60, she's more than half a step to retirememt. But on that last day, I would lay it all out for the cheap ass management who felt a box of "digestive biscuits" and a $25 gift card was an apporpriate reward for $2 million in sales.

I knew a master plumber who has been with his local union for 15 years and takes home 225k a year. In Texas, that income will get you a mini mansion. Don’t compare government unions to public unions.

I’m a teacher and for teacher appreciation week this year, I walked in my class that morning and there was a “thank you” card and a lanyard for the school I work at. An old lanyard they had left over from last year. They gave them to the teachers for teacher appreciation week. I would have much rather had the pizza lol.
Used to work at goodwill donation attendant and in 3 weeks we made over a million $$ and to show their appreciation management literally made us a giant cookie.........A fckn cookie
The only thing your forgot is the day after the supervisor sends out emails stating “due to money issues, your wage will be cut by $1.25.” Then you check in indeed and they are literally hiring new people for $1.25 more than the base salary. I worked for a Walmart distribution center and this is so accurate and when it’s time to get the pizza the managers hand it out like you are in elementary school and as you are eating it they remind you how long you have to eat it.
In my experience being a hard worker just gets you fucked over. Once they notice your a hard worker, they will start piling more and more work on just you. And for your “reward” you will get a pat on the back and some half assed encouragement.

Use to be common practice to give people a raise, but low skill workers are over saturated now days, so it makes everyone very replaceable. Only solution is to get a valuable skill.

I’m an underground lineman, we just finished a huge project, hundred of new homes will have power because of us. The boss gave my crew one hot and ready pizza from little Caesars. We generated 100’s of thousands of dollars in revenue….so that’s where we stand
So much for being the appreciated "frontline workers" they kept going on about during the plandemic. I dont work at Walmart, I work at publix and that's the same shit they kept spewing. Also giving us $50-$100 gift cards that were taxed and ONLY for publix during that time.
What's funny is that if everything is going smooth and getting (mostly) done on time, it's usually because you finally don't have a ridiculous amount of work to do. Not because everyone just magically wasn't 'lazy' all of a sudden.

LMFAO I knew the pizza was coming before I even watched the video. Glad I am no longer a Correction's Officer. They illegally held our overtime for months and would give us crappy pizza like it mattered lol.
At the factory i use to do maintenance in they would give us the leftovers from chic-filla,bojangles,dominoes and a few local restaurants from the office lunches and when they would bring customers by they would just sit the leftovers in the break room and like a pack of hungry dogs you had to be quick to eat
Quit my old job and recently started a new one and after a few weeks it’s clear these managers don’t give AF about us lol I swear it’s like that with most jobs

We use to get a pretty good Christmas bonus. This year we got like ten M and M’s that were made in the color of our company logo that said thank you on them. We all felt really appreciated.
