Dr. Charlie! Thank you so much for this video! Although I have upper back issues, your information has been helpful even while just watching this today I have discovered my first tool, and learned my first Yummy motion to help myself! A wonderful concept! And I am so glad to see people who are treating the whole person, not just the one or more 'physical' issue.. thank you for going so in depth on this, and making it so clear, and Thank you Joey, wishing you all the best too :)

I listened to the whole video. Did he really HEAL his discs or did he just learned to move in ways that didnt feel "yucky"? What I got was that i basically have to learn to just live w injured discs and not make it worse by knowing how to move. 😔

Hey Cole! You don't have to live with this. You're not seeing the complete process here- as Joey started working with us not long ago. In the early phases of an injury when pain is high- you MUST get creative and find ways to avoid yucky. Doing things that constantly aggravate the problem (mentally or physically) is grounds for continued pain. Once you calm things down- THEN we can begin building back to full activity (gym, running, walking, sport- whatever you'd like). It's a process. Think of it like this... "You don't have to live with a papercut or a broken bone, do you?" If not, then realize that you don't have to live with a disc issue (it can heal too!) Avoidance is not the end game- but often a necessary part of the process to optimize the healing environment. Make sense? That being said- there are ways of moving that be more advantageous than others... and I think that it makes sense to understand some of this long term. No pressure Cole, but if you're interested in getting some help (like Joey)- just visit www.drcharliejohnsonpt.com/apply - set up a time to chat and submit your case for review. thanks for watching! Hey Susanne- thanks for watching! As I hope you can understand, it's impossible to general exercises that would make sense for you without knowing specific details of your case. Infact, I'd suggest that you wouldn't want me to as they could easily make you worse or be inappropriate for you. Would you be open to me reviewing your case personally to confirm if/how I can help? I'm 41 years old, 6'3 and currently 279 lbs I've never had back pain or sciatica problems. However, I did go from 311 lbs to 241 then back up to where I am now in the last year in a half. I feel like I lost muscle when I lost weight but gained back fat when I gained weight. I'm also flat footed. When I bend sideways to the left, my right inner thigh hip flexor area starts to have a nerve like pain. My IT band area on my right leg is constanly tight as if the muscle just above the knee, up to my hip and over through my hip flexor have a constant cramp. When I sit and lift my left leg up, I have a shooting pain from my butt area down the inner front of my leg that stops at the knee. Can't pinpoint what exactly is causing this but I know this happened after I woke up in the middle of the night due to a massive cramp in my quad area. I'll be going to the chirpractor soon. Just trying to get an idea of wjat may be going on here.
