Morgan & Morgan screwed me when I hired them after I got hit on my motorcycle. They left me with less than 1/3 of the settlement, definitely wouldn’t recommend.
i know this story is about JJ...but come on, you gotta feel the heartbreak for carl edwards.i never knew exactly why he left, and this sums it up pretty clearly.a janky championship format, making it to the top 4, running solid, and get screwed cause nascar wanted to play games.what a trip.
For me what really cements Jimmie Johnson as the possible GOAT of NASCAR is when in 2004 he won the very next race after the Hendrick Motorsports plane crash that claimed the lives of all 10 people onboard. To recover from such tragedy and come close to winning a championship in the face of that, when so many great drivers would have been derailed (for a recent example, see MTJ after Sherry Pollex passed away), cements prime Jimmie Johnson (and Chad Knaus for that matter) as being, for lack of better words, "built different."
@rcguy902 dales the goat yet couldn't make passes without wrecking people half the time? Takes more talent to pass cleanly. Oh also who has more wins then dale? Jimmie obviously and in a shorter amount of time. Pretty sure that says something.
@@JeremyLeechthese moments are fake and everyone knows it. And the ratings prove this. If you want to give drivers some incentive to not be content with a "top-10" finish at the end of the season, then differentiate finishing positions points wise. Like F1 does, for example. Even a kid, based on unofficial "top-xx"s can create such a system (40th is 1 point for finishing last, 39-31st +1, 30-21st +2, 20-16th +3, 15-11th +4, 10-6th +5, 5th +10, 4th +15, 3rd +20, 2nd +25, 1st +30 which is 190 points for a win). But there is too much meth and coke down South to do this. NASCAR will continue to endlessly moan about sinking ratings and ask themselves "why to do?".
@@РоманБекиров-с4м every sports tv ratings are down. You can’t blame that on a points system that hasn’t been a full season since before their biggest year. Let the past stay in the past. Adapt
@@JeremyLeech are you high? Playoffs exist in NASCAR since 2014 and the ratings are sinking with Titanic like steadiness. And no major from of motorsport (or any major sport) faced the greatest decline in the 21st century than NASCAR. Hiding your head in the sand won't help it. Attempts at race and championship manipulation don't help either.
I missed the accident because of my cable but it was always my favorite Championship race of this playoff format. Very sad that Carl stepped away from racing and I never saw him on TV ever since.
Sooooo right! Like don’t get me wrong, I like Jimmie and he’s one of the greatest drivers, but this playoff system doesn’t reward the best driver of the year a championship anymore!
@@Brian5995M And it hasn't since 2004. I mean, I'm not saying it never happens, (it happened in 2005, 2006, 2009, 2012, 2013, 2017, 2019, and 2021) but when it does happen, it's only by chance. I agree though, this doesn't necessarily warrant hatred towards Jimmie Johnson; the man was just doing his job. You can't blame a guy for doing what he gets paid to do.
Crazy to think about but winning 5 titles in a row does get forgotten. It's possible the popularity of NASCAR took a hit because no one could stop Jimmie, but however you look at it 5 in a row is just an insanely ridiculous feat.
it's truly not that significant when you realize under the old system that rewards the best year-long performers, Jimmie would have (only, lol) had three titles. Just my two cents.
We’ll never know but with what we know now about the final four race and nascar being involved near the end… did logano get told to go easy on the next restart? Did nascar want Jimmie to get that 7th and then Blaney pays it forward to logano for his.
Because NASCAR threw a pointless caution that bunched up the field eventually leading to Carl Edwards wrecking and screwing him over. I hated that race!
The most impressive thing of JJ's 7 championships... is that *ALL OF THEM WERE WITH THE SAME SPONSOR* . *Lowe's. Sponsored him from his rookie season... **_all the way until the year after his seventh championship._** Seven championships... with the same brand on it...* Dale Earnhardt had GM Goodwrench as his sponsor for 6 championships. But the first one was with WRANGLER Jeans. And Richard Petty was sponsored by STP ever since 1972 until the day he retired. But by then he was already a 3-time champion. But Jimmie had a loyalty so big from his sponsor, that it stayed with them until his ultimate achievement. Worth it? Yes.
Jimmie Johnson is one of the best NASCAR drivers of all time. 83 Career Wins, 7 Championships, and a 2 time Daytona 500 Winner is just a little bit of his legacy, I started watching NASCAR a year before his 7th championship and to see him win it the next year was insane. There will never be a another 7 time champion, there will only be three, Earnhardt, Petty and Johnson the three best NASCAR drivers of all time.
He's bearly even top 10 he benefited from weaker comp a flawed playoff and chase format and cheating crew chief Jimmie may have as many titles as dale but he's not on dales level
2016 was just… I almost wish he retired then. Carl I couldn’t believe he stepped away and I didn’t blame him either. 2006 he was the kicking post for nascar starting at Daytona and … it never got better. Joey would get his Kyle would get his before and after 2016 Larson would do his thing And Johnson would never be the same driver after Pocono 2017 which ruined him like it ruined Gordon and Kahne… and Sadler but we don’t talk about that as much as we should. Dark cloud and everything for survival I guess. Anyway…. Great video. I had the 2016 Phoenix front clip of Johnson but decided to sell it simply because he wrecked it up so bad wrecking into Austin Dillion. I DO have a rookie front clip but am having trouble identifying it.
To call it Luck is to me weird. It does not matter what part of the chase or final 4 race you would like to chop it up to luck. It just does not make sense. The only thing that was kinda lucky was the Dylan lupton caution. But even then JJ was still only 3rd of the final 4. The next 2 restarts happens perfectly for JJ and he wins. Not really luck in my opinion. But besides that another great video rawgator
JJ is the GOAT. I know a lot of fans (or anti fans) think he didn't deserved it because the other guys ran up front all day. But think this....JJ started at the back and PASSED...EVERY....CAR....ON....THE....TRACK. He was there when Edwards and Logano took each other out (one of the most stupid things in NASCAR history). And JJ was there near the front on the last two restarts. He didn't cause these cautions, but like any driver, he took advantage.
@@LyleFrancisDelp of course he did in fewer years than Dale the flawed playoff and chase system makes it far easier Jimmie was overrated and nothing compared to Dale Jimmie merely just benefited from a flawed system and cheating crew chief truth hurts doesn't it
@@rcguy902 The chase has no bearing on number of wins. You can make that argument for total championships if you like, but JJ still had to win those races.
So undeserved. But it's how NASCAR rewards championship these days. This joke of a playoff system gives birth to fake champions like Logano and Blaney and has robbed so many drivers who rightfully earns the championship. 1 race doesn't define a true champion. Bring back the Winston format please.
Rigged implies they had a preferred outcome. They just wanted it to be exciting. If Busch's team hadn't botched the pit stop, he'd have been the one to take advantage instead of Jimmie, and NASCAR wouldn't have cared.
Any real nascar fan would know he isn’t really a 7 time champ. They keep changing the point system. It’s a joke era. He wasn’t the only person winning. Plus he had Chad knaus. The 1 to 1.5 mile tracks dominated those eras in which Johnson could win at. No more rockingham or north wilksboro and other tracks. The point system is still a joke and nascar is a joke. Brian France ruined nascar. Daytona and Talladega are fun to watch but you can’t win a race without help. Give back the horsepower, nothing I say will prevent jj from being claimed a 7 time champ. Had nascar not changed the point system Jeff Gordon would be a 7 time champ. Carl Edwards would have won a championship. I think Tony Stewart would have 4. The rise of Jeff Gordon and rival Dale Earnhardt made the sport fun to watch again. After Dale died nascar became a joke.
They kept changing the system to try to stop johnson, and they couldnt. And stop with this nonsense, you are changing the results of the race only by changing its point system. This is completely dumb. Drivers would drive differently if the system were different. Its that simple. Jimmie Johnson is your 7 NASCAR CUP CHAMPION, you like it or not. This nonsense of keeping the results on track and changing the point system is a complete joke to fit your poor, poor argument. Someone already did the math and if nascar had the system that formula one today, jimmie would still have, at least, 6 titles, if you like to change the point system of things... so what? Deal with it.
Carl wrecked him self. He even said as much after the race. "We both did what we had to do" when asked if he had hard feelings about wht happend. Carl rightfully blames nascar for the wreck calls they threw the phantom yellow so they could get a gwc
