The name comes from the way he made things seem like he was saving people (angel) only to end up torturing and killing them (of death).

Japanese dr’s did the same thing to Chinese. Problem is their names are too hard to pronounce and the west seen them as subhuman anyway

I don’t think it’s THAT weird to have a playground named Mengele…it’s not like it’s named after Josef. The good that his family did shouldn’t be erased by his evil deeds. I don’t think the things named after his family should be renamed. That’s like the US erasing & taking down confederate statues… history is history. You can’t erase it just bc it’s not good.

The episode repeatedly mentioned the Mengele family’s strong influence in that part of Germany. However, it failed to note that the family remained in contact with Josef throughout his new life in South America. Cars, money, contacts, and they got away with it.

It isn't erasing history, it's reconciling it; huge difference! We can always learn about history through books, movies, etc. It doesn't have to be learned by atrocities in history being bronzed and glorified.

He was radicalized in college? Gosh where are we currently seeing that today? The US desperately needs to get a handle on the radicalization being done to young people in their colleges or we are going to see similar results...

Question or a thought. What Doctors like Mengele did and their thoughts behind it. Where he or they had no feelings for the victims. To me isn't that the same as a woman going into a clinic at 8 mo pregnant to abort there is no feeling for that baby it's a living thing, living inside another living thing. It's not about a person's right to choice. But at the same time, how much of a difference is there between the two?

Most doctors now will ONLY abort an 8 month pregnancy when there is no way to save the baby and the mother will die. At 8 months a baby can survive quite well after birth. Most abortion laws require the procedure is done before the second trimester which is before 12 weeks.

Abortion is a major dilemma for you u.s. citizens. When i was 17, my girlfriend got pregnant because we didn't use protection and we were unexperienced and unconscious of the risks and the consequences. She got an abortion and that doesn't make us serial killers.Bringning that baby into the world would of been a major disaster for us at that age as much for the baby. What kind of a life would that baby get with two kids as parents ! Getting brainwash by your goverments about abortion since the 60s in a country so messed up by beliefs and religion is not an opinion that I reely care about. American society is one of the most messed up in the world with is guns , is crime rates , Donald Trump , drugs, etc.etc.etc. having a kid is a huge responsability. Since then my girlfriend of the time got 3 kids when she was able to take good care of them after her studies and getting a good job. That is a responsible person not living in illusions.
