This man’s journey has been insane when you think about it. Stuntman to stunt coordinator to stunt director to director. And has made a franchise that NO studio wanted AT ALL and made not just good films, but films with story, depth and action. A whole new universe in which so much can come from in the future. Respect.
@@ericlopez6866 Not mayweather i dont think he really has a vibe with JRE kinda thing, Jordan could have will have a great conversation on about young player today and KB death
A Short Text on Keanu Reeves’ Life 💭 Keanu was born in Lebanon. His parents split when he was three and he grew up with three different stepfathers. As a kid he was diagnosed with dyslexia and dreamed of becoming a hockey player. He played goalie for a junior league team in Canada but quit after breaking his leg to focus on acting. He lost his best friend, River Phoenix, in 1993 due to an overdose. He got married in 1998, experienced a miscarriage with his daughter in 1999, and ultimately lost his wife as well due to a car accident in 2001. In 2002, Keanu put the Matrix sequels on hold to care for his sick sister. He sold his house to move nearer to his sister, while also helping by cooking meals, cleaning her house, and preparing medication. He also donated 70% of the money he made from The Matrix to leukemia research. In 2006, when he was filming the movie "The Lake House," he overheard the conversation of two costume assistants, one crying as he would lose his house if he did not pay $20,000 - on the same day, Keanu deposited the necessary amount in his bank account. In 2010, on his birthday, Keanu walked into a bakery & bought a brioche with a single candle, ate it in front of the bakery, and offered coffee to people who stopped to talk to him. To this day, Keanu is often seen wandering around New York City, riding the subway, and interacting with people. A certified legend.
The last John Wick combat scenes are the best I’ve ever seen. Every single move is calculated. You can tell he does most of his stunts and trains martial arts.
I love that about those movies. John Wick 1 was amazing and they have only gotten better with each one. I know it’ll have to end at some point but man it’s gonna be a sad day when they do
Hi Joe my name is Mphuthumi Xhala and from South africa. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude towards you and your show for helping me through tough times in 2022 December. I had a very bad breakup and I was just feeling horrible. I consumed so much of your content during that time to such an extent that I would forget what I was going through. Obviously there wasn't anything that you said that was relevant to my situation but just watching your podcast covering all these different topics enabled me to be at ease. Of course later I would cry myself to sleep but the point that I am making is that you really helped my get by my pain. You might find this very wired but that is the reality of my experience and how you helped go through it without intentionally doing it. The topics that you uncover with the help of your guests makes one to pause and really think about stuff. You are beacon of light to the world that shines beyond the many borders of this world and touch people in many ways that cannot be imagined. Thank you Joe a lot for what you did for me. At the time I won't lie I didn't see past the situation I was just broken inside and unable to function but through watching many of your episodes the healing process was happening gradually. I will forever embrace and be grateful to you.
I'd love to see Joe having a truthful and meaningful session with Keanu. I'm pretty sure Keanu knows that Joe can reach for the heart, and he is not feeling comfortable sharing it to the world. He has a kind respectfull way to approach life.
Chad Stahelski is a legend himself, yet everybody whine about "not a Keanu, we need Keanu". Well, yes, Keanu would be great, but Chad is also great great guest and I'm glad to see him not less than Keanu.
There was a point during this conversation that Joe could have asked him about Brandon Lee. Chad was Lee's stunt double in The Crow. It would have been interesting to hear him talk about his old friend, Brandon Lee.
Damn. I was hoping he would have but maybe Joe doesn’t know chad was friends with Brandon. Could have then asked chad about Bruce Lee. Since I know Joe isn’t really that informed about him. I was hoping he would have asked him what it was like working with Stallone on the expendables but I guess he didn’t ask that either. Another wasted opportunity. I’m not going to sign up for Spotify if none of these subjects were brought up with chad. Stallone destroyed his body making the first expendables. Got shingles, broke his neck, broke his foot etc.
For an actor to be able to make the nunchucks look like a weapon that can be controlled and effective in a nonstop fight was impressive to me. Loved it!
I mean, we all know Keanu is a badass, but seeing the behind-the-scenes of his intense training is on another level. The dedication and hard work he put into mastering those fight scenes is unreal.
Wow love listening about what happens behind the scenes to pull off what we see on film. Chad is wonderful, I love listening to him talk and how much Keanu Reeves pushed himself to do John Wick…amazing how he pushed himself even when he had the flu and a high fever Keanu still worked his ass off!!!!
Obsessed with John Wick movies just like Joe. This podcast just jumped to the top of my listen/watch list. Like literally everyone has said a podcast with Keanu would make me so happy and excited. Every interview I see of Keanu I am always sad it ends. He might be the most pleasant manly man in existence.
My heart goes out more to the stuntmen and stuntwomen on set who literally put their bodies on the line and risk injuries and sometimes even death just to make an action scene look good
I can listen to Chad all day. Like just ask him a question here and there and just hear him out. Dude is just so cool and articulate. And he speaks with such a distinctive passion about his subject matters. And he knows his shit. He's just a totally rad guy. Keep on rockin'! 🔥🤘
Absolutely amazing to hear him explain how the bloody sausage is made. He lectures like an engineering professor ... can't believe how much I learned about the technical details of filming fight scenes in just 10 mins of him talking.
Haha! Closeup Keanu sitting in a chair "BTW, all the people I killed, the ones who had pets, I adopted those pets, but I couldn't do it alone" then camera zooms out to a room full of random animals, Jim Carry as Ace Ventura walks in with a shotgun and says "got your message, saved the best for last, lets go expand the menagerie!"
It would be the greatest thing just to spend a day with Keanu. Imagining riding around with him, stopping for a coffee, chatting for a bit, going for lunch, hitting a bar afterwards. He’d be the most chillest person to talk to.
Joe needs to have Keanu Reeves on his podcast. That would be one wild and fascinating two or three hours of convo, that's for sure. I'd love to know what his diet consisted of while he was training for the John Wick films.
This guy stood in for Brandon Lee to finnish the crow movie. Because of Brandon's death, a new standard of safety came in for how to use guns on set, such as don't point it at people, but cheat the shot to make it look like you are pointing the gun at someone ( That's what I was taught at film school at least). It would be interesting to see how it all operates on a Wick set.
As a martial artist, I love the John wick movies...though i do personally think that he uses way to much energy constantly throwing and going to the ground when fighting multiple opponents. But i love that he brokes number 1 rule of action movies: take the deceased or incapacitated enemies weapon and use it against his friends.
@@billywashere6965 and yet, as with many things, john mcclane was the exception. not the rule. Die Hard IS a christmas movie. and i would argue one of the best christmas movies.
I saw the first 3 Wick movies. As someone who worked as a set dresser, and also knows editing, I think they must be exhausting films to work on, but they are very well done. Keanu really is great in them. For me though, in action movies, I like more tension and drama than actual graphic violence. I loved Point Break, and I love all the Die Hard Films. They weren't just kill fests. They were heroes put in a position they didn't look for, but they figured out how to survive and win in the end. The Wick movies are more like live action anime movies.
Chad is a phenomenal martial artist in his own right. Coming from his training at the Inosanto Academy. Back in the 90’s, he was arguably the best kickboxer in the gym.
Him explaining the reset time with clothes, make up and timing the squibs to blow up with the dangers of blanks really drives home how much better CGI muzzle flashes and blood splatters are.
@@bonestorm2006 Good CGI is unnoticeable so how would you know? Not all squibs are good. I think Tarantino's use of squibs are cartoonish. And squibs in John Wick and the Raid which are CGI look great. So how would you know?
Really love to see Keanu on this show. Joe and him will have tons of talk about John Wick movies, training, mixed martial arts, etc. It will be one of the greatest episode.
The whole thing about dance, never imagined it would be important for film fight coriography but now that I think about it, makes total sense. Glad dance class was my best grade
I dream about a Rogan and Keanu Reeves podcast! How many of you already know that that would be lit AF! Perfect for me. I would probably travel to the 4th dimension! 😆
Please interview the writer of John wick. Derek kolstad. All the characters are named after his family members, John Wick this is grandfathers name. From rural South Central Wisconsin. I mean you talk about this franchise so much you might as well interview the originator lol. Would be a cool story.
Thank you for so much love and support, I appreciate your kindness. 🌹❤️ Please beware of imposters. I never ask anyone for money. Always report any imposter you see.
I was shocked at how intense and effective all the action was in JW4, even though we'd all seen it before and knew the formula. To still pull it off is impressive. That movie was like a modern video game, non stop action and just great! Totally surprised. I think this movie should hey Best Cinematography considerations. The usage of the angles, I think were genius. Kept it fresh, imo
