After messing around with slingshots for nearly 5 years, I’ve always wondered how much the gauge of latex (it’s thickness) affects your shot speed. Will shooting with different band thicknesses make me more accurate? Or will it have little to no affect on anything at all?
In order to answer these questions (or attempt to do so), I decided to run a little experiment. After building a new slingshot ammo catch box, I cut 6 different band sets of 6 different latex gauges shooting 3 different ammo sizes with each one. Once I finished analyzing the results, I was ready to share my thoughts on this (hopefully) exciting experiment!
