What other pros and cons can you think of? Assuming we are using a real life versions of Wolverine’s Claws. Other cons include: 1) The three claws might not be as effective as a single concentrated blade. 2) Due to the curve of the claws, there is a risk of getting your claw stuck in bone or armor. 3) If you don’t hit your target precisely, you risk bending and breaking your wrist upon impact. 4) Because of their design, the claws are kinda awkward to slash with 5) Against a sword, your range will be limited. We do have an extended version of this shot breakdown that mentions some of these cons for Members Only. Join now! You can also purchase this exact Wolverine t-shirt using the RU-vid shop feature! It's shown in comics that a big flaw is he has to have his wrist and hand in right position bc they'll go through then on the way to come out, the actual length of his claws goes past his wrist and if you bend his palm back, you can slice his own hand against them.
As a martial artist, a rarely feel like wolverine is seen using his claws in the manner in which they would be the most efficient. I feel like a centuries old warrior who fights ninjas should have some real visceral tricks up his sleeves.
Cons: You'll have no chance against a guy who is able to manipulate magnetic fields. But there are a billion different superpowers, what are the odds of that happening?
How is that his wrakness. his healing factor keeps it from killing him. That's why he's healing factors never at full strength. It's always on overload because it keeps the adamanium frim poisoning him. Don't mistake the movies for the source material
@@polishherowitoldpilecki5521he doesn’t the poisoning just made his healing factor weaker didn’t really hinder him since the trade of for slightly weaker healing for invincible claws is better than regular bone claws for top tier healing
Adamantium can only be forged once according to the comics and once cooled will retain its strength and durability. Wolverine also had a secondary mutation after he came back from the dead that allowed him to heat his claws almost white hot.
@@zakkmylde1712 I rarely hear the fact that adamantium blades are very resistant to heat, sure they get hyped up as virtually indestructible but that's in their normal state, When a metal is in its heating point and further it could be altered or even split or it's met with something of that heating point. Maybe in some comics wolverine has that mutation but it's hardly mentioned, and when movies have to add logic to the mix well, virtually indestructible can't be a thing.
con 5: is will, endurance or intolerance a slight extension of one claw alone can cause some excruciating pain type of shit what will make you drown in your own tears fortunately fr my boy logan he is a tough and resilient soldier who has experience with extended bone claws fr most of his life so a pain like that would feel like a mosquito bite but fr a average folk most of this would be sooooo unbelievable painful it would literally distract them in any combat scenario
@@shaxarts Because there’s nothing to notice? He’s saying if you had metal claws that aren’t indestructible like adamantium, you’d have to sharpen them
@@Jazz_Jacob He said that you wouldn’t need to sharpen them due to the healing factor and then turns around and says you would. It’s not about wether you would or wouldn’t it’s about the blatant contradiction.
@@anguiruscd_55 “pro #4, they’re (fictional adamantium claws) indestructible, that means you never need to sharpen them….” “Let’s talk about the cons. Adamantium isn’t a real metal, so if you actually had claws like these, you’d have to pop em out and sharpen them each time” If I misheard him, I’d think it was a contradiction too.
Fun fact it’s actually stated that Wolverine’s healing factor is actually quite weaker than it was originally was because a solid chunk of it is dedicated to fighting adamantium poisoning.
It honestly doesn’t make sense tho. If the adamantium is indestructible how does it poison him? That would have to mean little bits of the metal are breaking off into his blood stream.
@@Solznmid they aren't really indestructible so i think it might be that the adamantium gets into his bloodstream while he's fighting absolute powerhouses like Hulk and Apocalypse
@@Solznmid Blood comes from te bones, so... when his healing factor is doing all its process a little bit is always going to his blood, and nothing is really indestructible at a micro level. And remember... this is comic shit, don't use too much logic or it will fry your brain.
@Solznmid Adamantium is not indestructible, just extremely tough. And it doesn't need to have tiny bits floating around, it just needs to react with something either in his blood or bones since his entire skeleton is coated. Even if it doesn't, his immune system could still see it as a threat and try to reject it.
"If a guy comes after you with one blade, you should definitely run. With 6, holy cow, you should run faster!" Also, Logan shares the same first name as Wolverine, and is an edged weapons expert, so yeah, perfect dude for delivering this breakdown. Love it!
@@chimchar87 That depends on if there's anyone else running from him. If there are other people then you only need to outrun them, he'll be too busy butchering them to worry about you.
Another problem is the impact on the wrist and tendons. Three blades have a lot more resistance and they are quite long levers. A single blade rotated 90° would be infinitely better and would be far more stable. So, Assassin's Creed had the better idea...
Also, everytime you deploy/ take out those claws, ur wrists have to be in a straight line as your forearms. Otherwise, the claws will come out of your palms or your wrists depending on the position of your hands.
V-sauce did a video years ago that described Laura claw as being better for combat simply because all her force is being directed into one blade instead of three. So she has an easier time cutting
See that would be true if adamantium blades didn't instantly cut through everything. It doesn't matter how much force you apply as long as you have correct edge alignment.
con: whenever logan takes out his claws, he rips through his skin, the same goes for retracting because his healing factor heals the flesh that was destroyed so his claws have to go back through his already healed skin
Don’t forget the fact that when they are extended, it is actually very painful because the body heals when they are retracted, and the claws damage the skin and tissue to extend, and then you have to actively fight pain of pieces of metal shredding your fists
Also what you reveal and retract them it will hurt a lot and more without the healing factor Like Logan said while being asked if it hurts “every time”
Tell this to a Lion, Tiger or bear. Each of whom, which have 5 claws on each hand, and could literally tear you to pieces using atleast four of them each slash. Yeah, the cutting power is lessened so much.
@@Markbell73You're ignoring the fact that all three of those are insanely strong compared to a human, and weigh anywhere from 300 to a little over 1,200 pounds. Some bears going up to 1,500. The smallest out of all these is a female lion with an average of 280-300 pounds, but still stronger then the strongest humans. The cutting power is lessened, it just has insane strength and weight behind it that makes it so devastating to a human. Watch what it does to bigger animals, their claws aren't so bad then.
@@kano8 and you are ignoring the fect that Wolverine also has super human strength. Atleast equivalent to a tiger or bear, if not more. Hence why I made the comment I did.
@Markbell73 he has super human strength, but due to the metal in his body, it's heavy, and he can't fully use that strength. Sense the metal was put in him, his strength went from super human, to that of worlds strong men.
@@kano8he can though wolverine is literally the same size as the animals listed,if not more…on top of that’s he’s also really fast meaning he definitely has above human strength, probably just not to a crazy extent like spider man of course. I’m pretty sure all that combined is what makes him so dangerous
Yeah I always forget without the healing factor how inconvenient and painful a weapon like this would be. I remember being shocked during the first X-Men film when Rouge asked "Do they hurt? When they come out?" Logan answers "... every time." It didn't occur to me he felt them rip through his flesh each time😮
That's why he'd have Berserker rage. Because, think about it 🤔 everytime you fought an opponent. You'd get have to feel these lacerations through your hands 😫😖 That alone would drive you insane in pain so to speak.
Yeah thankfully his healing factor does give him extremely high pain tolerance to the point where the claws feel more like a pinch and less like a harsh tear through your knuckles. But if he experiences too much pain, his mind goes feral since its very difficult for him to pass out from shock.
@@Netherwolf6100 No, his healing factor does nothing to numb the pain of anything. This is a man who used to regularly go to biker bars and pick bar fights to wallow and let loose. He knows he can heal it back but he feels everything.
I fell like the healing factor actually sharpens them, dull knifes means that they either lost material or bended a little bit, the healing factor puts it back in shape
One huge con that actually applies to logan too (or atleast logically it should) if his hand is even slightly bent while pushing out the claws, instead of coming from between his knuckles, they come from his palm or the back of his hand, which is cant even begin to imagine how much it would hurt. Same goes for retracting too, just in reverse
One big con, based on a shot of an X-ray of wolverine in the background, the claws are long enough and housed in such a position that they should be impeding any motion of his wrist and rotation of his forearm
Also, the claws are stored in his forearms. To extend them, they cut through his arm and between his knuckles. When he retracts them, he heals the cuts
Con you missed if wolverine doesn't position his fist properly his claws can wind up passing through the palms which considering his healing factor doesn't neutralize pain I can imagine hurts like hell
Actually, Logan is constantly being poisoned by his Adamantium laced skeleton. His healing factor is severely nerfed by the constant heavy metal poisoning.
Something I also noticed, since there’s no guard between the blades, if a sword gets caught in between the blades you can keep pressing the sword further between them. It will definitely deal good damage to your hands since it’ll also be difficult to get the blade out of the claws.
One more thing Every time the knifes come out, his skin and bones are actually breaking but healing at the same time. So every time it actually hurts him
Logan was the first action figure toy I owned as a kid. I don’t know where I got it, probably my folks but it was the burgundy yellow suit wolverine. Great times.
Another Con that people don't talk about Wolverine actually has super strength ( More like excessively above average) but because his entire body and arms are so heavy he can't hit at full force
wouldn’t that help him hit harder? the guy can obviously throw punches and run around. Putting a lot of weight on him would help. it’d be like lead boxing gloves
@@jestawell for this exact reason is why his punches don't hit as hard. Just like in real life boxing gloves are used to cushion their blows and weight down the users arms. A punch is as strong as the amount of force u put behind it. Quite literally F=MxA in order for him to produce more or equal force with heavier arms he would need to be punching faster than he can normally..which he can't therefore this would be a equal amount of force to less force in most cases.
More cons! They’re short. Due to them coming out in only 1 place, you can really maneuver them all too well. Stabbing with 3 points that close can sometimes lead to you not being able to push in. It’s like laying on a bed of nails VS laying on 1 nail.
Thanks UltraRow for putting my comment in the post, even though I got 28% people picked that idea and the 48% picked samur die Jack, I am still i put up my comment there. Thank you Ultra for this, keep on pushing through and break the heavens and keep up the good work btw ❤
about con number 2. logans healing factor would technicly heal the skin around your claws the second you use them so it would tecnicly block out all blood and germs, and even if it didn't his healing factor comes to the rescue again and just out heals it.
Funny thing is before he was experimented on his claws were just bone and broke like bones do, but he could heal them. Bone claws were his real mutant power and the healing. It was him letting the experiments happen that made his bones that special metal most people know and love at least according to certain people I've heard talk about him being dipped in a special metal that coated his bones. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about and it's not canonical, but maybe I'm wrong and it is.
I know they’re not super similar but it’d be cool if you covered TMNT Shredder’s claws. It’d be cool to see the pros and cons of them and then compare them against Logan’s
Con: because there are 3 claws, the force is distributed over a larger surface area, so when you strike, you will leave three shallow marks compared to someone with only one blade, who will leave one deep cut
Don’t forget that whenever he lets his claws out he has to rip his knuckles open every time due to the healing factor. Same for putting his claws back away, they would have to stab through his forearms to go back in
Con: because of his healing factor, he’s stabbing himself six times every time he extends them, since his skin closes around the hole each time they retract, causing a lot of pain on a sensitive body part.
Forgot to mention that if you don’t pull the claws out the right away it will cause pain and sometimes you have to forcefully pull the claws out if they get stuck
Not to mention that when you release the claws you cannot move the hand around, because the bone extends from the forearm into the hand and out between the fingers, meaning that the hands would have 3 metal beams in them connected from the forearm, which is why he moves the whole forearm when doing an attack at an angle, and not just moving the hand
I feel like they’d be very effective defensively as well since they’re so stable with your hands. Don’t need to worry about any outside factors moving them. Just a very stable weapon entirely dependent on your own movement, not its own.
With the thing you said at the end about the blood and germs, the healing factor would cancel that out, since it saves him from diseases and such other things
Also, sometimes, they get stuck when ejecting, so you'd have to pull them out manually. And, if your forearms and wrists aren't aligned, they could pop out of your wrist/lower palm
