As a beginner at guitar i understand quite a few things like a your rundown of notes and chord selection. But there is something to it that you do that really uplifts the song. The funky rhythm with those percussive strums really adds a new dimension to the song. The improvs and ad libs in the effects, instead of planned mechanical playing also makes it sound better, more personalized and spontaneous in a way.
