TLDR: 45 minutes to an hour is normal. If you just want the answer and not all the filler.

What if i left a window barely cracked and a small rainstorm hit us last night… seems like driver seat is darker on the edge. I was just gonna run re circulate with heat-a/c on for like an hour but its 40 deg outside and pretty humid… do i leave doors windows closed after drying or let the cold fresh air in?

I used to work in water mitigation. You need two things. Air movement and dehumidification/dry heat. However if it is more humid in the car then outside of the car the car will also dry with just air movement. Research psychrometrics. Might help those with issues

I use the Bissell spot clean Pro never had a problem with drying time because first I communicate with the customer to let them know it may take a while to dry and I also live in Texas 😂

This is such a great advice. Let your customer know how long it'll take before hand, and it's not an issue.

How do you prevent getting water spots? I usually have this issue with gray colored seats. I live in Texas and sometimes with the heat and sun beating down on the seats I notice the water spots after doing the extraction. Any recommendations on how to keep this from happening ?

@@megsan5805 white streaks may be your cleaner. If you use a heavy cleaner you sometimes have to clean the heavy cleaner with a lighter cleaner.

I have a Pro Heat, but I also have a Rigid Shop Vac. I think a good 5 hp shop vac would get that last little bit of water out!

Thanks Oscar great video. I'm working towards getting an extractor. I have an old Bissell kicking around my garage which I will use in the mean time. Is there any advantage to using a wet dry vac to help get rid of extra water/cleaner

I like using my ridgid wet/dry vac after I pressure wash carpet floor mats if they are super dirty. The vacuum takes out a TON of water. Just make sure you take the filter out before sucking up that much water

I see alot of videos on shampooing carpets and seats ,etc.. But hinestly none of these channels ever express how important it is if the customer picks up the car with out it drying all the way. You need to tell them that if they are gonna go home leave windows cracked a bit. You also need to make sure you detailers are spraying some type of bio ,or scotch guard so that the caroets/seats will not get any mold/mildew or bad odors.

I just got mine extracted today it’s a Subaru crosstrek and I’m just worried it will leave a moldy smell after drying? So far I don’t smell anything funky and it’s almost all dry completely. Should I leave the windows down some?

My seats aren't stained, but the fabric is hard and matted. How would you clean fabric to make it soft again? It seems like the previous owner used dish soap to clean them.

Winter makes shampooing hard even after I sucked as much as I can and still takes a really long time to dry. I will be using less water next time. Last customer I had to shampoo 4times because it was that bad and after few days the carpet was still wet seat are drying good is there anything I can do to dry the carpet faster when I have to get it that wet? I thought about maybe a heater or something

The whole process of cleaning took 4 hours, by the end of 4 hours he said 80% of the car already dry, then it took another 45 minutes for the remaining 20% to dry completely.

But you are detailing a clean car. If car was salvage and nasty from out of control little kids, one obviously took a poop in back floorboard. It's 4 degrees, and the car was detailed over 8 hours, 3 days ago!! It's still wet. Not only that the fumes were so strong my eyes were burned, I mean blood red, eye drops won't budge it. But it's super clean. Help!

Turn the heat on max temperature with the A/C on feet & face with recirculate off.

@@ernesto401986 Depends if winter is 30 degrees or -10 degrees. Depends if you do 1 seat or the whole interior. Depends on the quality of the extractor and the experience of the user.
