One time because I was *psychotic* I did the whole 2nd arc in one week sun up to sundown on a college winter break. I did all of azteca AND ALL THEIR SIDE QUESTS in one go. I did all of khrysalis and side quests in just around 24 hours. Never forget
as a recent new player i loved the second ark even though it was long the atmosphere and story was really good, but i can see how someone who played before those worlds were released could hate it especially if you are trying to get more accounts through it, but when played for the first time seamlessly together as a story its very enjoyable. it took me about 350 hours to beat the whole game with storm
I'm a new player too and I was worried the game was going to become too easy but I've been loving the difficulty curve thus far. Azteca was really the first challenging world for me which I like because I have to come up with better strategies to solo. Khrysalis i'm only half way done with but it has been even more enjoyable with the new shadow spells.
@@parkedcar5 Most people go along with the majority and the majority may not like chrysalis, but it certainly doesn't make you or them right. A better way to phrase it is the majority of people like the top 10 box office movies all the songs at the top of the charts. Usually they are terrible, the odd exception, just showing you that the majority often get it wrong and go along with everybody else. I didn't like it on the first run, I hate bugs but playing on other wizards, I definitely find it an enjoyable world. It was certainly a lot harder the first few times and sadly lots has been highly nerfed. It's sad what they have done to the mobs and non-cheating bosses
Personally I loved arc 2 and at the time it was when I was most active. People shit on Khrysalis all the time but it was a two parter update. It was so hype getting to experience that live. Old Azteca was actually the worst though and made me quit for a little bit.
I'm so glad past me did it all. So current me didn't have to do it. I legit don't even remember doing any of it but I was literally at Rasputin in Polaris when I stopped, and I don't remember getting that far. I remember going to Polaris, but I thought I was at the start.
Honestly I prolly would have played Wiz for another couple years if Azteca hadn’t crushed my spirit lol. I just remember gritting my teeth through it, getting to Krysalis, and dropping the game entirely
I start the second arc soon, I've been solo'ing the first arc and am currently at dragonspyre. It may be my bias for from soft games aswell as ds3 . But I absolutely love dragonspyres design and atmosphere. Kids card game with ghost of soilders, scumy wyverns and stuck up instructors/teachers are awesome . Kinda like a from soft game mixed with monster hunter aspects
if you like the eldritch elements of certain fromsoft games youre gonna love the fourth arc, especially the design of novus. its not eldritch in the sense that we expect but youll just have to see what i mean when you get there
I haven't played in maybe 7 months to a year maybe but I remember finally getting to Avalon after finally getting through Celestia (Zafaria took me no time at all to get through and actually enjoyed it a bit) and as soon as I saw how many quests were in Avalon and the next world, said no thank you, and I logged off and haven't played since. I might play again sometime I tend to do this a lot where I will play Wiz nonstop for like month or two and then stop playing for half a year to a year, I do this with all of the games I play lol.
Great job man, they got a bit silly with the length of the last two worlds. Not to mention it can be a long trek between quest-givers for no reason. Hope you fair better in the next few worlds.
Actually the reason why they take so long is the stupid back and forward that you have to do, if they can establish a complete button without returning to the original npc that would work wonders and just accept the next quest.
Whenever i go back to the game to get the nostalgia feeling again the second arc (between Avalon and Azteca) is when i usually quit because it's just dragging way too long. Haven't gotten a character past it in 5 years
Don't even hate the second arc much, I just wish KI would clarify how Morganthe became a bane to Celestia, Zafaria AND Khrysalis despite the fact she was just a teen no more than 10-20 years ago in game.
@@MrHoodenizer Honestly don't blame ya. Avalon is especially egregious because not only was that the world to give us Teen Morg (thus throwing a wrench in the timeline), but the only reason we came to the world, the Sword of Kings, ended up doing jack all in the overall plot.
@@standuseroreo3954 That still just doesn't explain how Morganthe is explicitly stated to be part of the reason Celestia fell nor her battling against the first queen of the Elephants in Zafaria, when she was a teen in Avalon.
I would not recommend skipping the 2nd Arc. That one is actually good. The villain is a lot more interesting. Avalon was the best. So much better than the first arc
Bro, the second arc, despite having a cool villain (who's not as cool as the first arc villain), is what killed my enjoyment for Wiz because it was so boring doing the same thing over and over again. Blade up Buff spell Hope for crit Repeat 😅
Back then the arc being as long as it was, was okay. Now I am making new wizards instead of having a single wizard and there’s so much I have to take in at once and it’s a drag.
I've always said they need to introduce level scaling, a level squish, and/or group story arcs together. People get to pick what world they want to start in within said arc, and can freely focus on the campaign or side quests to their discretion if they have completed the campaigns all the way through on at least one main character. Once you hit the next story arc level tier, you are automatically given the option to begin the arc, despite your progress/completion in the last. Same rule follows if you want to explore other worlds within the same story arc. You wouldn't need to complete all main story lines in order to properly reach the next level tier for story arcs. Reducing the amount of experience needed could also help. Level 1-50 • Wizard City • Krokotopia • Marleybone • Mooshu • Dragon Spyre You could be hypothetically speaking level 10 and start in Mooshu if you wanted. The point of level scaling is to match mob difficulty and world interaction to the individual player level. If you are out in the world leveling and a level 32 wizard accompanies your level 10 character, you both would see different hp/mana pools for the mobs respectively. Even a damage multiplier might have to be added to ensure for your respective level the npc is pushing out damage contextual to your level, but that may be more important as we get into the latter story arcs. A level squish, I would imagine, would take more time due to how sensitive gearing/crafting is respective to the side worlds as well. There might have to be an overhall to how we gain our spells eventually as well if we get too high in character levels/numbers, where a level squish will be needed. Hopefully doing this incentivizes more people to explore and play the game at their leisure, juxtaposed to dragging through and pressured into a pay to win corner with level boosts and packs to unlock gear and spells. I think we give KI enough money as is where they should undergo a major face lift like this for the game.
THANK YOU!!! I’ve been saying this a lot! If KI want to bring in new players, they’ll need to make adjustments to the older worlds as that is whats going to be the deciding factor. Khrysalis is totalitarian a turnoff for any play that actually wants to play the game. LvL 1-50 can literally take about 2-3 days of 2-4 hours of play time each day.
just got thru arc 2 for the first time and yeah i agree completely, khrys was actually fun especially with the darkmoor trip between it, azteca wasnt even particularly bad or annoying it was just so fucking boring.
Ngl, I quit after dragonspyre, shit felt so long, after seeing ur arc 2 time I honestly don’t think I’ll go back. Fun watching challenges but I felt like I was going insane doing the same card combination over and over and over with a feint or 2 thrown in for bosses.
it took me 5 days for arc 2 and 2 days for arc 1. but that’s because i use cheat engine and have my alt max storm to help me quest. for someone solo questing without these things it varies
I made a new char 7 days ago, he is now lvl96 and i played like 4 5 hr per day (not every day) I am boosting him with my 160 storm and using cheat engine , i finished azteca in 6 7 hr
So many wiz quests are run to place kill 3 enemies run back and i think if filler like that was cut we'd be in a better place with some worlds' lengths
I say new players have it easy before I stop playing for a good min my last wizard I was working on was my balance just started Mirage when I came back to quest on it I notice some of the boss fights that where hard are easy then when I got to the sands of time and did the too boss fight before Old Cob and him where easy and they use to be hard even the final boss in Empyrea was easy and it was way harder the first go around if you did not have death to use juju newer players don't know how hard the third arc use to be.
it will take most people way longer than 66 hours because of darkmoor. I gave up on Darkmoor after some time because i simply don't have the time to grind something that depends too much on RNG. most players aren't kids anymore, we have jobs and it's hard to commit the time for darkmoor
the fact azteca is so long bores me, and made me quit and return within a 3 years time frame just to finish it. The mind doesnt like repetitive things as it gets bored easily
66 hours for half the game is not that bad. Is like 1 month of playing 2 hours per day. But it’s just me I like the game so I enjoy every bit of story and content.
0:12 A landfill is an excellent way to depict the dumpster fire that is Azteca. It's the worst world in the game BY FAR in my opinion... Also, 4:05 completely agree with your opinion on Khrysalis, yes it is far too long, but my god does this world get way too much hate. The story is actually good, Dyvim WhiteHart is the best companion character in the game, and it's the only world, in my opinion, where you get to see the actual change you are making through questing. You enter the world on the losing side of a war rooted in hatred but you slowly but sure flip the tide on Morganthe.
And arc 2 is easy tbh I over leveled with meta gear but still as long as it is bosses are fun with their cheats and as strong as you become in the 2nd arc it’s worth it
Honestly 1st arc is meh and I stop and start, doing wiz play to mix it up. play some arc 1 then 3 or 4, may 2. You have 7 schools to play. Even though it feel like they ripped arc 1 quest to shreds it goes by too quick these days, compared to 2012 when I began. I much preferred arc 2, having more difficulty, aside cheating bosses i enjoyed these worlds, the different visuals, was much more fun. KI if you are reading this do not remove any quests, you already nerfed it to heck. Do something about farming times in Darkmoor and later worlds gear, it's not a full time job FFS. I don't want to complete worlds in no time flat and remember this is meant to be 15 years of content, it should take a lot of time, people need to not be in a hurry. It's like when you drive people want to get where they are going to fast and miss so much in their haste, besides if you have driven slower you'll notice that car that sped past you miles back is only one car ahead of you at the traffic lights. Take your time and enjoy the journey. New worlds only come out every year so you rush and you farm to get "best gear" every 12 months in later years for a tiny upgrade. The point is the journey not rushing your experience. Also KI many players like to solo or with a friend, so scale late game content so it's fun and not frustrating/annoying/insane because we don't have 4 players. We want and need good gear too and spending hours is not fun for something with 0.0001% drop rate. We probably need the better gear than these full teams. Current devs have no sense how to make content that strikes a a balance. See Lemuria end fight in easy mode, it's an end fight but is like fighting mobs not bosses.
