@@666Necropsy hes got a video of them up where he blows them, think they lasted 2 songs but he was only putting 2-4k wattts and not the 12,000 i thought.
I'm an old school music fanatic, an whether you know or not, Jensen has been around since the 70's!, while other companies have come an gone, Jensen keeps on putting out quality stuff, on the low, low!, had a Jensen amp on my components, in kick panels by the driver, an passengers feet, an 5 way 6by 9's, in back, an they were rocking, with my 2 12's pointed up, ran by a crunch amp!, That Vette was slapping from 09 to 14 serious!!!
Back in the late 70's and the 1980's Jensen 6x9 coaxials and triaxials dominated! Pioneer 8 track (later cassettes!!) "Supertuner" and a 10 band generic underdash equalizer was what EVERYONE had running! We used to cut "file folders"( the tough green ones used in office file cabinets with the metal hanger strips in them! Lol) to repair blown/ripped the paper cones by gluing carefully cut sizes glued in place with "finger nail polish hardener" stolen from mom's make up collection! Believe it or not it worked great ! The finger nail polish even fixed the minor rips in the foam rings!!
If yall remember , they killed the rockville freeair , i would buy them all day over the jensens. Ive got rockville in my wifes ride, and they are great and have outlasted and are louder and cleaner than alot of expensive subs. I guess its all on what you want to believe. Idk care that people diss on them it keeps the prices down for me ha ha.
I bought 8 Autotek SUPER SPORT SSW12D4 for $25 each with free shipping and no tax 🤯 they are duel voice coil with 500rms. For $200 it's going to be a dangerous budget banger!
The new Jensen amps are actually not too bad. They do above rated power and have some type of dsp built in too. Haven't used one myself but there are dyno videos on RU-vid about them.
I've always wanted to buy some low cost woofers and try this, but with even more.. Cone area is king! Old school Orion XTR's beat in a nice ported enclosure and didn't look much different in quality.
Looks as tho, they used the same magnets, for the past 20 years on most their car subs lol. I remember my teen years bumping some Jensen XS bass 10"s it's basically that same magnet.
That's crazy for some extremely cheap subs. My buddy is a young dude and he wanted to put some bumps in his car, so I gave him my two Pyle 12s in my custom made 3/4 MDF box (that I tuned to 30 hz with a 12" Aeroport) and a whack Lanzar 3000 watt (Maxxsonics amp, so probably 400 watts maxx and I'm fairly certain he bought a Walmart wiring kit so he's using 8g cable) and it actually bumps a little in his car. He wants more power having sat in my Accord, but don't we all? Lmfao
I remember doing this when they were called road gear subs way back in the day. Its fun to play around with subs that we don't care about. Cool video. Funniest part, I've seen people spend way more to end up with way less.
Considering Jensen was bought by the Italian professional driver manufacturer sica a few years ago, who has been making professional pa drivers for over 40 years, it's no suprise what we see here in terms of quality. Jensens quality will start to be like it was back in the 50's 60's 70's again before they got bought out by the Chinese in the mid 80's early 90's for a few decades and turned into just a brand name to milk money from people who trusted the name. Glad they're undoing all that damage that trading hands caused them over the years and they're still continuing to make progress after the acquisition of a proper speaker manufacturer finally, their guitar speakers are certainly great once again as well. Glad jensen is finally starting to get back to making quality again and being serious again, it's been to long for a proper brand revival.. If they did this for 30 bucks each, imagine if they actually got serious about car subs and started really going for keeps... If they keep up everything they are doing right now, they'll be the giants that they used to be in the audio world like in the past. Great video man. www.sica.it/en/ Merry Christmas brotha!
@@fabelgamer7410 Proof? I'd like to see more of that man, there isn't any other jensen besides a transformer/choke company that isn't related at all. As far as their car subs, it would make little sense for them to trust such an incompetent manufacturer like audiovox to their name when they already are wholy owned by sica... who has a solid reputation for making some of the best drivers in the world, it would make little sense for jensens car division to be owned by audiovox, who as a brand have been bought and sold many times themselves and isn't the same audiovox of the past, like jensen was for a long time until sica picked them up, they are just a name and not much more... The only other jensen I'm aware of makes transformers and chokes as i said above... I'd like to know more if you can provide more details about the car devision, there is no way these subs were designed by audiovox, if so, it was certainly a lucky break or fluke.
There is a guy, on ebay, that sells MTX subwoofers for cheap. They are replacement subs, for older Thunderform enclosures. Most are sold in sets of 3 subs. Instead of building subs for my wife, she wanted a budget build. So, i bought her six 10" Thunder series subs($160 total..shipped), single .75 ohm voice coils each and wired all in series, for a 1 ohm final load. They're on a 2k full bridge amp, from one of our sample amps from a build house we work with. It sounds amazing, box is 5.85 cubes after port, bracing and displacement...tuned at 26hz (she likes demo type playability). Gets down, and is a little windy for a budget banger! I am hooked on doing budget builds for local people, and they're amazed. I have a few customers, that over the years, ii have built custom subs for, that are hearing these budget builds, and are coming back for them, lol. Great work Parker!
I have four Sundown SA12-D2s wired to 1 ohm and an Orion HCCA 3k watt cheater amp in my Accord and they make my windshield flex. They're definitely a good setup. I made two boxes to fit the trunk and bolted them together. They really slam and I'm only using one out of three 0 g power and ground inputs. BigDWiz strapped one to his dyno before and he made 12k watts with that amp at full power, but I only have a 360A alternator and all 0g cable with the gain turned about a quarter of the way up.
I did there of these in a Custom built box some months back in my Malibu taking my 1200w Pioneer Champion Amp at 1.3Ohm and they was slappin. Even at the tourture test bumping Gucci Mane Coca Cola bass track at full tilt.
That was awesome and everything I intended to see! Super cool video Parker! You were straight chees'n when they started banging, that was great! Merry Christmas Parker, have a great one. 🌲🌲
Ghetto Walmart subs coming through in the clutch! LOL! Hell now if your in a a spot and blew your subs and need some shit to throw in to get by with some bass for a couple weeks, 30$ Jensen special from Walmart is the ticket! LOL!!!
love the vids!! been working on 4 memphis 500w 4ohm subs...had a skar rp1500.1d for my son and we had to send amp back, but was sounding good for 4 ...80$ subs....he was least 146 in his toyota and need to put 2 subs in a ported box and get em out of the sealed box...but trying to do it on a small budget too...bout 500 in it all so far ..
BUILD AN SPL BOX! I used to chase points for dB DRAG using 6 DUAL tens on a Soundstream Goliath Tarantula 6500. Sounded good! One by one they popped lol. Was still fun showing off with subs i paid less than 20 bucks a piece for though :)
For the price I'd choose Jensen over the other cheaper ones like Boss or Pyle. Jensen seems to focus on as much quality as they can for how cheap. The others are concerned about the looks of the subs. And I like the way some Boss look just not perform.
@@erik120719 I just picked up 2 of the mofo 12d2 and running them on a hiphonics brutus 1700.1D, bro I couldn't believe how hard they bang! They're nothing like my old school eclipse, but they do the job and my 12 year old daughter loves them. Lol
This is awesome! You can get a JL Audio 12 W0 for $140 that does the same as this $30 sub. Both made in china. Now I know the JL is better quality but hmmmmm thats a HUGE price diff.
I bought one 12 and got it bridged on a 1000 watt amp and it doesn't sound bad , I honestly had never heard of it just ran across it online for like 35 bucks lol
Before you blow them tune it to a daily setup and see how good/loud they are at safe power level on music l.Curious to how much those cheap subs will handle and at what db.
Its funny that jensen car subwoofers have always been inexpensive, but they are huge in pro audio. Used to be THE guitar speaker. Their transformers are used in the very best amplifiers and preamps. Along the way they've made a few jewels. I used to have 4 jensen xs1212's. They were one of the first huge roll surround subwoofers I ever had seen. They were $15 each on black Friday at an electronic store in Cleveland ohio in the early 2000s, that i cant remember the name of. Wasn't circuit shitty or best buy, but a quite similar store. (Possibly electronics express?) I put them in my extended cab s10 on almost no power. Probably 200ish watts. The x-max of the truck roof was absolutely insane 😅
Jensen has started showing up lately because Dual recently bought the jensen name and Dual has stepped it up lately making some decent budget gear under the Dual and Jensen name.
@@analogaudiorules1724 namsung (dual) owns them.. Dual amps are not that bad for what you pay.. Now the subs on the other hand.. Head units are fair at best
Man Jensen, power acoustic, SPL , and American bass to name a few are all cheaper brands that have been in the game for a while making decent quality product on the lower end.
There's a 50 in it, just gotta figure out what frequency that box, truck, and sub combo likes to get the most db per watt, then manipulate the cab to get more, open the door, move the seats around etc.
BRO I use kickers for my home audio subs as well. I'm not alone! GG. I use either an Xbox power supply or if your PC savy a PC PSU to power a 300-400 watt amp to run them. MUCH cheaper than home audio, although I know people will usually start preaching about Sound Quality. but it sounds damn good to me, and my bank acct and angry neighbors can vouch for this. 🤣
@@athotboy5050 yeah i have four 10s and two 12s i run the two 12s with 6.5s and one inch tweeters on my front and four 6.5s on my center channel and on the rear four 10s with mids and tweeters
"Little speakers" they appear to be the same physical diameter as the 6 twelves that were put in that enclosure for the fundraiser thing he talked about all the time leading up to that weekend
I did an ev2 like that it shredded the cone of the "passive radiator" from the former the triple joint held the cone around the triple joint shredded tho some where around 1250 watts hahaha I did that in a ported kicker box hahaha
@@steveclark9934 darn straight full song demos for 4 full song before It even got warm.... let's just say I wired to low by accident and I had to correct it 3x power on a sub isnt the best in the word especially if you know your clipping
@@steveclark9934 I’ve been running 2-18” EVL s for 2 years now. This summer seemed like they finally broken in and play well . I’m sending 1200-1600 per sub. For the price you won’t be disappointed
@@2013HotNewMusic dude you misundertood. I'm not saying that the brand would have been top of the line but in the 90s fosgates, jl, kicker, Lanzar...their top quality subs were basically what these Jensens are. I''m also referring to the early 90s not late 90s btw.
@@2013HotNewMusic I don't know how old you are but back in my early 20s in early 90s having a 200rms sub was badass. All of fosgates, jl's, or whatever you want to bring up had 'badass' subs that were 200rms or even less. I had some really nice Lanzars that were rated at 150rms each, 10". They were considered some of their best.
@@jorgem50 In the early 2000s I had Jl w6's/w7's they both rated over 200 lol. I wasn't even the top dog in my city I wouldn't even consider those top of the line back then.
Jensen seem to be pretty good Oldschool car audio and budget gem or budget bust put there amps on the Dyno and they made more than rated, just got the Jensen 1000watt 4 channel and 1200watt mono amp for Christmas gonna do a little budget system in one of my cars and pickup some Jensen subs to go with it.
What’s the first song you played after you let us know you broke them in? Love your vids btw your one of the reasons I started trying to up my subwoofer game, went from a single pioneer ts-a300d4 to two sa12rev3’s
Can you double up on those speakers. Make it somewhat isobaric and Bolt the speakers together so you're running two speakers per hole. He might be able to get the resistance down to 1 ohm as well and max out the amp.
