Word! He was always too humble a producer fah me. I’d see him in the vids & be like he not a bad CMB rapper. Once i found out he was droppin dem joints, I was SHOCKED & looked at him in a totally different light.
@@avon_mackNeptunes definitely had their own sound it was 🔥 I miss those days when you could hear a track and get excited cause you can tell by the beat who produced it.
Juvenile's "Gone Ride With Me" is the greatest beat ever produced. That whole 400 Degreez album was insane and produced by Fresh. Give this man his flowers
That one was definitely good, so good that I used to listen to the instrumental version on repeat. But he had so many good ones:Momma got ass, I got that fire, Still Fly, 400 degreez, HA, #1 stunna, Get your roll on, Bling Bling, Cash Money is an Army, Playin’ it Raw, Thug’n (BG),T.I.’s Top Back, In my Life, Set It Off, Project Bit*h, Go DJ (lil Wayne), Way of Life, 500 degrees, Follow me now, and of course the one that put Cash Money on the map - Back that azz up!
Great beat! But my personal favorite was 'Drag'em N tha River' beat 2 🥶 cold! Mannie did his thang with Cash Money for a long, long, long, long, long time! Mannie Fresh is the Man period!
Yea but 8 sounds wouldn’t sound good in todays music because people are so used to hearing more then 8. Back then if that’s all you can put out people were forced to groove or like only that many sounds. Ain’t nobody making a hit on 8 sounds today. That’s why mannie fresh beats aren’t in any of todays music. I bet he can’t even make a hit with 8 sounds anymore.
@@Handle9 never said it wasn’t cemented. Times have changed. Keep it that way. Just like him telling kids to try to do that today they don’t have to either genius. 🙃
Maaaannnn, that "Cash money is a army", that "Block is hot", obviously that "Bling bling", the "400°" title track bruh...you couldn't miss. Mannie was really doing his thing.
Jam Master Jay made me want to get into DJ 'n. His scratches on Run DMC's Raisin Hell is what I used to study and duplicate when I got my first turntable. So I appreciate this comment!
As an east coast Philly native, I think Mannie is one of the most underrated producers ever. His knowledge of hiphop in general goes unnoticed. He’s not just a south artist, he is the epitome of hip hop. Dude never fails to amaze me with his knowledge of music and djing.
He really does have a pretty extensive catalog. I was just listening to BG’s “it’s all on u vol.1 & 2 and it made me really appreciate Mannie. He def has a unique sound. Many of his beats have this very upbeat, bright kind of sound (that’s the only way I can describe it) BG- “get in line” is a good example. I also was recently listening to Big Tymers - Ballin’ and was just amazed out how well that track was put together with the bass line with Bun B. Sound like he used a live bass guitar in some of his beats? I will say though the man is an amazing producer but no the best emcee lol. Although he is pretty damn funny. I def agree with you on him not getting the same recognition many other producers do.
@@droboyjrman those albums were classics bro. U mentioned them and brought back a whole lot of memeories. If u want to hear a great Cash Money album tho.. go check out BG Chopper City. Not the Chopper City in The Ghetto album. Im talkin bout the original Chopper City. U never hear anybody mention that album but that was when BG was ar his best And he was carrying Cash Money by himself.
@@droboyjr yea somethin like that... He mighta been like 15. That was when he was still called Lil Doogie and Lil Wayne was on there too... But he was called Baby D. The group was called BG'z. And then BG took the group name and made it his own name. It wasnt a classic but it was an ok project. Cash Money was still tryna find their way at that time. UNLV Uptown For Life and Juveniles Soulja Rag album were two other classic albums that no one ever mentions from when CM was still local
Mannie is so awesome. My generation of producers from Paul and Juicy, to Beats by the pound, to Dungeon Family, which are all amazing, but had multiple producers to get and give input, Mannie only had himself. Legend for real

@@Mobcityrecords100 sampling his old music yea it can pop with the right artist. I’m talking about him making a fresh beat with 8 sounds and a artist rapping on it… lol ain’t happening. Because if it can happen it would be happening. Simple.
@Eldridgesf it is happening tho lol. plenty of big producers are using 8 sounds or less on today's tracks. Practically every beat on the radio is just an 808 with a clap or snare and one melody, if there even is one.
@@RustyAShacklefordexactly 😭🤣 that dude obviously doesn’t know how beats are made.. it’s not hard to make 8 sounds great if you’ve been established for awhile
@@brandonmoss7976 lmaooo facts but Turk wasn’t really a rapper he was more like that cousin that always in the studio with u giving u moral support but bout whatever never get old to me
Those 8 sounds were essential listening 👂🏾 as a teenager growning up in the hood, everytime you heard a mannie fresh beat it was instant mood change no matter what was going on! SALUTE 🫡 Mannie Fresh one the best to do it 🏆.
8 sounds? That's crazy. This man is truly a genius. Beats aren't as hot as early Cash Money and they do have computers. Maybe they should get rid of technology, so they would be forced to be creative.
That’s why Mannie Fresh is one of the pioneers of Southern Hip Hop. He has an impeccable ear for music. The term: less is more, certainly he exemplifies through his creativity. Got him paid too!
"Back That Azz Up" is the perfect example of Fresh's authentic creative genius in music production. 20+ years ago and still never gets old. Still *Fresh.
Mos Def He (Manny Fresh) is One of the most underrated producers of all time and honestly low-key one of the greatest rappers and pop artists of all time.
Mannie Fresh is a musical genius. Cashmoney didn't have a lot of artists like No Limit but all the artists they did have became super stars. When you think about New Orleans you gotta think about Mannie Fresh. Great interview 👍👍
This guy was literally the only producer on ALL of cash money beats this guy is definitely one of the best beat makers producers in hip hop of all time
