Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

Do 25 bomb bays instead, then you can have exactly one bomb per 0.05 sec. Also move them towards the back and turn them around (so the bombs launch backwards) to avoid self damage.

Also work out the blast radius of a bomb and space them out so they only partly overlap to increase the bombing area.

Yo I fly rc planes too. I by stuff off of flite test and then build planes. I took a plane to a lake and it was a plane that went around 100 mph….. the wind took it, made it point down and it went probably over 100 mph into Lake Ontario 💀 it was shallow so it hit the sand under neath and now it’s busted like hell 💀

4s delay on that, if u want constant stream of rockets divide 4 by the amount of rocket guns u have then for the second one times the answer by 2 then so on so fort 3 by 2 4by 4 etc

It would probably be easier to use, since rockets have automatic aiming. He'd be able to make up for the lost damage by increasing the number that hit the target.

I got an idea on a potential improvement that would allow you to pitch down. Instead of building the bays pointing down from the belly. Instead have them point backwards out the tail. You'll end up with a kind of wave shape as they deploy, but you don't have to sacrifice any aerial control.

@tickledbrown I don't think it would react fast enough to prevent annihilation though. It could work though but my money is on the bombs.

I'm just starting to watch the video, but I think this concept should be applied to your rotary bomber from the video with Yzuei. Edit after watching the rest of the video: I think the biggest weakness in the "wingsuit" design is the narrowness of the bombing path. Something like a traditional bomber design with a wide wingspan and additional sets of bomb bays on the wings might be the way to go... but it would probably need a fighter escort, because I don't think it would be fast or agile at all.

when I was doing the airborne campaign I set my bomb bays on the 1-second intervals so 8 bays would drop in pairs. Not continuous, but long enough to hit most targets in a single pass

You chasing the speeder gave me an idea. If the speeder tries to always stay in front of you then try to chase it at the speed of sound or faster to see if the speeder can break the sound barrier with you

for anyone wondering, there is a simple calculaton you can use to find how many you need for any weapon for example the old tiny cannon would fire once every half a seccond and the normal cannon 1 seccond, since the smallest delay you can make is 0.01 seccond you just devide the fire rate by 0.01 but this would just be for max firerate because thats more fun

What you need is something to aim in the direction you want the bombs to go or to calcular where they would go

Great vid scrapman! If you follow the other comments’ suggestions to have the bombs flies out the tail of the vehicle it would be significantly more accurate to aim your nose directly at the target. This saves you having to gauge your horizontal angle of approach as well as your vertical. It’s the same reason that until accurate aiming reticles we’re invented dive bombers were so popular! If you approach in a rolling hill type flight pattern it will ensure you hit your target far more. Love the aesthetic of this plane btw!

Hey, ScrapMan! I got a multiplayer challenge for you: Skypiercer. Basically, build high speed agile planes with no ranged weapons, just a long swordfish-like snout and you try to bring down as many bot planes as you can. Whoever gets the most in the shortest amount of time wins.

It'd be interesting to see a 5x5 grid of bomb bays, offset by 0.05 seconds to the sides. It's also probably a good idea to, because of that initial velocity, turn the bomb bays backwards and set them further back rather than the center, to decrease chances of hitting yourself. You could probably also do some logic on the bomb bays that will sense when you are going downwards that auto-shuts off the bombs, and more logic to auto-turn on the bombs when above a certain height (ideally the height to avoid taking damage from bombs) or when pulling up. Essentially automating the infinite bomb bay entirely.

My question to you becomes how many days do you think it’s gonna take 30 40 50 and that is depending on the complexity of the build mind you and the course I have been doing watch this from the beginning, and that big jump in to the end so I wouldn’t know the answer to the question😅

Hi scrap man, I love this idea, and I have an idea that might solve the blow on pitch down problem, make the bombays facing outwards at the back of the plane in a upside down stair case pattern, the very top bombays are the furthest out, and the bottom ones the furthest in.

A good change of pace would be you guys doing an irl remote control airplane build challenge, there are a lot of relatively simple kits/plans, if yall buy used transmitters you can keep the budget pretty cheap. Idk, just think itd be interesting, especially if yall did custom designs out of dollar store foam board. The foamboard is actually surprisingly durable and easy to repair, some packing tape and maybe some glue for anything that breaks and its usually good to go.

What about using this as a theme for the next Trailmakers Build To Fight episode? *_NO GUIDED MUNITIONS CHALLENGE_* _Objective:_ Down an enemy plane with your weaponry, Best of 3 matches or whatever you think is the best. _Limitations:_ *No homing weaponry.* This means no Smart Cannons, no Miniguns, no Rocket Launchers - only Naval Cannons and Bomb Bays allowed. See who can best the other in a fight where your only aiming option is wiggling your plane's nose!

I feel like a wingsuit design along with a longitudinal alignment of the bomb bays (which also were aimed in the direction if travel) was maybe not the best decision for an infinite bomber, and I'd love to see a bit of a rework, but all the same, fun video o7

Idea: there is a glich when if you put the bomb bays close to a aircraftcarier (literally just land your bomber onto an aircraft carrier) and press the bomb button, the bombs will glich through the upper floor and explode on the lower one. You can play a game where you dissable the Names and one of you is driving on the lower floor (pics a place there) and the "seeker" tries to hit him with bombs from the upper foor

I really wish the timing on things like this were multiples of 4, so you can do this sort of thing with better symmetry. I think some of the guns are similarly timed, making gatling style guns tricky. I realize the new minigun is there for this, but its not what I'm looking for.

Since the bombs seem to be effected by momentum i wonder if you could make a device on a vehicle to use the bomb bays more like a projectile weapon. Basically slingshotting bombs at people.

Sorry Scrapman, I've already done this. I could have either ruined or helped your video with the stats I've posted in your videos before. 1 second to drop everything, 4 second reload. 0.15 off-set will give you an alternating drop between one set to a whole second and one offset. This would mean about a 0.06 (for your numbers) offset, so 0.06; 0.12; and 0.18, would get you quadruplet note bombing meaning more saturation. And this is basically rolling thunder. The enemies on the ground will hear you fly by and then the progression of explosions rolling up to them as each dropped bomb explodes in succession.

you should have a battle where you only use bombays and you all have the starting bombays you have on that one and everyone has to buold around it ... but the only propulsion your aloud is perpellers, and that is had to be able to fly for prolonged time... it could be that can work as a sub or somthing else also... but as long as your still a funtional bomber your not out of the battle

I did over 500 bombay on a b-2 Spirit plane and it's very fitting because it's a very tactical stealthy bomber plane and it destroys everything and I mean everything in its path and it's submersible because why not.

I wonder if it would be possible to make a spinning servo bomb launcher. Maybe two to counteract each others' torque for stability reasons. Have two round-ish rotating drums in the center of a plane that will spin while in flight and fling the bombs constantly in a circle around the plane as it flies. Not horizontally, but vertically.

next challange make it a MM but with less bombs, also you could make a MM that has everyone get all the chirpos in a single pass and carry them all to the tonws in one go, that would probably be very hard imo.
