How Many Books Did I Read On My Physical TBR This Year? *not a lot* 

Don’t beat yourself up Des, you still read 36 books which is better than nothing. I think doing an unhaul sounds like a great way to start off a fresh year, with books you actually want to read. Another suggestion to maybe go along with your 5 book buying limit is to only allow yourself to buy a new book once you’ve read at least 2 off your existing physical TBR, that way you’ll always be reducing the number by at least 1. You’ve got this! ❤

7:53 i made a bingo card for my physical tbr for next year!! And i'm only allowed to buy a book when I finish a row on the card. So i made multiple 4x4 charts, each box is a book and i mixed them up so i wouldnt have all my most anticipated reads right next to each other. So whenever i read 4 books in one row im allowed to buy a new one. I might even get a tbr jar and put the titles of all the books in there and grab random ones to make it through the charts

Don’t beat yourself up! You’re not a regular book girly, you’re a booktuber! If it weren’t your job, you wouldn’t have bought so many… keep that in mind!

You still read a decent chunk of your TBR! I wouldn’t be too upset! Also, buying books can be just as fun as reading books, so as long as it’s still bringing you joy I wouldn’t be too hard on yourself. An unhaul is a great idea though and there are plenty of places to sell used books (ie pangobooks)

this is actually super impressive how much you were able to read! plus an unhaul sounds smart! who knows, you might gift someone their new favorite book

Something I do when I feel my physical TBR is a little too high for my liking, I will start grabbing about 5 books and start to read 20-30 pages. At that point I will either know 1. If I like it, 2. If I like it but not in the mood currently will I want to read this later, and 3. This can go to a new home. It really helps because sometimes a book sounded good when buying but 6-12 months later it’s not hitting the same lol

reading 36 out of the 190 is still a good thing!! i read very little off my physical tbr as well, but the ones i did read i was so proud of myself! definitely doing an unhaul at the beginning of the year would be such a great fresh start to the new year!

unhauls are so therapeutic and really help me when i’m trying to feel a bit less overwhelmed by my physical tbr. i would defo recommend!! i also think it helps with general motivation for reading when you only have books you’re really interested in

This makes me feel so much less alone with the amount of books that are my TBR. I have 70 books on my TBR currently. I do think the amount you have is crazyyyy but I believe in you! For me buying books and reading them is a form of therapy and it’s something I enjoy doing when I get to treat my self! And I just got into reading maybe July of this year and I just wanted so many books and I couldn’t resist!! Also destiny I do suggest if there are any books that you don’t think you’ll read you should donate them to a little libraries or even do giveaways!

I really think you should 100% do a realistic y haul girl, it’s totally okay, books are literally so easy to go crazy on we’ll buy 10 books read 2 then buy 10 more like every month and end up with so many books, girl just in the past 6 months I collected over 100 books on my TBR. 😂 I’m done buying books unless it’s a new release I absolutely need.

I put all my tbr books on a different shelf even if it means a series is not together. It just helps see how much I haven't read.

our reading journeys truly evolve over time. one season of your life you might be more interested in a series or book than you will be come the next. so books you bought because you were interested in them before but a year passes and you haven’t touched it yet, doesn’t mean you failed as a reader or you’re buying too many books. we all, whether it be physical or through a list, have a never ending tbr. i think that’s the beauty of reading, having the world at your fingertips and finding the books that speak to you in any given moment in time. books are constantly be recommended every day among every facet of the book community and it’s hard to keep track of the ones you want to read unless you buy it or write it down, whatever your go-to method is. i, too, have a very extensive tbr but i’ve ignored it for the better part of this year because there are so many new books surfacing that catch my eye more than the books on my tbr, so they become an addition to my more “immediate” tbr. as a mood reader, i WANT to read the books i can’t stop thinking about and if that’s not something that i bought a few months ago, but rather a book a friend recommended or that i saw several times on my fyp, then so be it. there’s no right or wrong way to reading or accumulating a tbr, be that physically or not.

Don't worry❤. I was in a seven month reading slump so I constantly change my Goodreads goal lol. Thankfully I'm now definitely out of that but I've definitely read a lot less books this year.

I successfully went from 80 books on my physical TBR to about 20 last year, so maybe I have some tips that might help 😅🫶🏻 1. I didn‘t allow myself to buy new books, except to continue a series I‘m reading, to buy limited edition special editions that I really wanted, or when I had a giftcard, or the books for my bookclub. 2. If I really wanted to read something that wasn‘t on my physical TBR, I got it from the library or read it as an e book. You can always buy the books you liked for your bookshelf later! (except maybe special editions) 3. I didn‘t start any new series until I finished all that I had started or that I already owned. 4. I sorted through my whole TBR and grouped them into moods/seasons, e.g. when would it make the most sense to read it, winter, spring, summer, autumn… and made a TBR bookwall. It really helps to visualise it!

Unhauling books can feel really good. I recently unhauled three that I either started and just knew weren’t for me or that I just knew I didn’t want to read. It made me feel better to not see them anymore.

I know that one of your 2024 goals is to get through a big chunk of your physical tbr, so another good way to make it seem like that is to just unhaul your books. I know I personally have books that i’ve collected that i don’t want to read. Years down the road, if you find you want to read it, you can always repurchase. But there’s no use keeping books on your physical tbr that you don’t want to read anymore. It helps reduce your physical tbr while opening up room for potential books you love!

First of all, DON'T beat yourself up!!! The fact that you read 33/36 books is amazing as well! And second of all The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes is one of ym favorite series. It has several plot twist shocking, there are so many connections and the cases that Holmes solves are so un predictable so its just a great series. AND you don't even have to read them in order. You can read them in any way you want. Some of the BEST ones are "Hound of Baskervilles" "The Dancing Men"(short story) "The Scandal in Bohelimia", Ect.... But I will reccommend one thing that is that read the Reichanbach Fall AFTER a couple books. Like when you feel like you have a connection with the charecters. Some trigger warning I can give about the whole series would be death, drugs, maybe mild language. ALSO if you do fall in the rabit hole like me there is alot content of Sherlock :D. I better stop now this comment is too long and I can write an entire book on why I reccommend and LOVE this series :D
