Really? Maybe it’s more popular overseas and stereotypically so. It’s the first thing that springs to mind when I think of Irish. I’m in Australia. My husband calls my Irish friend Aisling because he can’t remember her actual name (which isn’t Irish at all) and calls her that as a “very Irish” alternative
Berna, you did really well with pronouncing them. :) Gearóid is actually pronounced like Gare- roydge. We don't pronounce Ge like a J in Irish. Well done, though!
@@GeneralClankerDroideka my dad is from Inverin which is in the Gaeltacht of county Galway and he says Gaa-road and naturally he’s a fluent Irish speaker but ya every province has its own dialect but I was taught it d way I say it
She is Northern Irish. Represented UK with "Jack in the Box" in 1971. She actually finished 4th..Sorry, l thought she won. I'm okd enough to remember then..
