Eh' up Matt, (Relatively) cheap Olivettes !! - A tin of .22 (non toxic) Air Gun Pellets - Drilled thru' with a very fine drill, about 1/32" diameter. Two, threaded on skirt to skirt, & held together with a float rubber/rig tubing, (optional) & stopped below with a No 6 shot. A tin of 200 or 500 will last you till retirement. You can make a few of these up at home & add another set of 2 if required. (Proper ones, ain't cheap - like 3 or £4 for 5)
A few minutes after you started to explain this feeder, i was thinking "Nope.....it'll be a Flatbed method for me". Agreed, these feeders just seem to be a load of faff!
Used to do this, 10 points for harder to catch fish, 5 points for easier fish and - 1 point per lb if you catch something already, obviously highest score wins.
brilliant days fishing fellas....they deffo followed that warm wind...and 8 species cuaght ..well done both of ya and great fun !! tight lines u2..until next time....
Unusually I fished in last Saturdays heat at Wold View, Lincolnshire and had a fish a cast, 29 carp and a few bream. Fished it the week before and caught 2 carp lol. Ain't a clue why there was such a difference lol
A great days fishing for you both. I went today shallow swim no more than 2ft 6inches. Same problem as you long rod and trees. Result 25 roach some over a 1lb each, 12 Rudd, 2Bream and a Common of 9 lb. All on waggler and 8mm cubes of luncheon meat. Lovely stuff. Stay safe and thanks
Great film yet again and a cracking days fishing too boot pal. You both got a right mixed bag under your belts 👌👍 got to say though Matt, your dads tench looked just so slightly bigger than yours 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 got to stick up for papa West 😉 😅 keep up the great work pal 👍 👏
Cracking video Westy. You must have filmed that a few weeks ago it's not been that dry for weeks!! I fished Wrightington today on the canal and had a great day's fishing. Keep up the good work. 👍
A good days fishing for you and dad eh mate. I reckon them tench are all out the same spawning eh. Hehe.you know what it's like westy when you don't want a bream you will get them every cast eh.
Awesome challenge! Great results. Fishing in the USA doesn't seem to get the results that you do in the UK, but your video has spurred me on to try my own multi-species challenge here in New Jersey. Who knows I might catch the elusive Bream😂
I would love to go fishing in America! I know you guy’s probably won’t catch quite so many fish but you certainly have better fish to target and nicer places to go fishing! More natural and wild. Over here we just pay to fish these man made lakes for a day 😂 and they are heavily stocked with the same fish !
@@WestysAngling maybe it's just me, but I’de love to have dedicated carp fisheries here is the US, but I guess I see what you're saying. Still takes a lot of skill to bring in those big carp in the UK although I do agree there's a bit of a difference between river carp vs man made lake bound carp. Carp from a strong river put up quite the battle!!!
Great days fishing that mate ,you both did really well ,got to admit the sun would have done me in as well ,when was this as we’ve had nothing but rain lately 👍
Cracking video as normal looks like you and your dad had a good day. Like the look of them tench some belting fish shame the slimy bream weren’t playing . Can I ask where you got your pellet prep bag from and what make it is. Cheers
I fished peg 14 a couple of weeks ago, horrendous weather, had to put the tarpaulin over all my gear, had a great day tho 57 fish, lovely mixed bag, f1s, skimmer bream, commons, barbel, tench, bream, ide, gudgeon and roach.....also a fella landed a 26lb 2oz carp off the point peg ur dad normally fishes
Do you think it was 26lb Ste ? I trust your judgment, that’s an absolutely massive fish. I have seen some incredibly big carp cruising so I don’t doubt it !
I can’t believe that there is a monster like that cruising around in high heyes. It’s actually amazing. Like I said though a few weeks back I saw a big big mirror cruising right towards me and it was very wide. Until you see it it’s really hard to believe. Would you have thought they got to those sizes in there ?
@@WestysAngling i remember catching an 18lb mirror in the original lake on a club match in 2006ish, easily gave me the win on the day, back then the other lakes were still being dug/stocked. Spose all you need is 1 greedy fish n it will bang weight on much faster than others.
Interesting and instructive video and looks to be a nice venue but I'm really not keen on the idea of Barbel being stocked in commercial fisheries. I know they've never seen a river but genetically, they're equipped for living in running, oxygen-rich water with a gravel bottom, not a muddy pond. Each to their own, but it's not a place I'll be visiting. As for F1s.....again, not for me.
