Produce is fairly reasonable here and eggs are cheaper than what they are stateside (about $.25/egg per St. Louis Fed data). Cereal here is quite expensive. Good stuff Scott.

They just Started charging for Bags Here Too. One of my Jobs is Grocery store Overnight stock Only packaging I recognize is the Cereal. Interesting to see how they Package stuff in another Country.

I just looked at Asda (Walmart ) in U.K. and did like for like and Thailand is roughly 500 baht more than U.K. but these are foreign goods so I think that’s a good deal.

I prefer to buy food at makro pro.even though the selection is large, they don't have everything brands. that's just the way it is. the prices are like most others. the prices are not what they used to be earlier because of the currency problems plus otherwise price increases. in that sense Thailand was a dream earlier if I think baht.Everything was so much better in the past.

1) 2000 baht for two people to eat like Americans for--four days? 2) How long does it take for an average Thai to make 2000 baht? 3) It's silly to compare the cost of dining out to the cost of preparing the same food at home.

1) 2000 baht for two people to eat like Americans for--four days? 500 baht a day or 250 x 2. Buying food on the street would be about the same. 2) How long does it take for an average Thai to make 2000 baht? About 2 1/2 days give or take. 3) It's silly to compare the cost of dining out to the cost of preparing the same food at home. Silly? Have you been to Thailand? Many people eat street food. I don't mind eating out but not all the time. I definitely don't want to eat Thai food for ever meal and when we eat at home, we know what is going into our meals.
