As a Tennistrainer, what helps a lot against overthinking or anything serounding loosing concentration and confidence is focusing on the moment. Only what happen now is impotant so that is what you can force yourself to concentrate on. Take the game one step at a time. What happened 10 seconds ago doesn't matter. It matters what you are doing now. Sry for my bad english

Hey CBell, Im a gc2 that has had the same problem as you where I ended up throwing the match due to thinking too much. In my experience, what has helped is reminding myself that I can rely on my instincts and experience in the game (like muscle memory) and not just be in my head all the time. When you end up thinking about what to do for each play and how you are going to do it, you waste thinking space on what should be automatic. Your mechanics are there and you just need to trust them. If you do this, you will free your mind and not only will this help your decision making as you will have more space to think of different options, but you will also have more fun playing the game! I think that a good way of getting confidence whenever you’re down is practicing the fundamentals with workshop maps. If you grind through it (say like dribble overhaul 2) it will make you better no matter what.

Cbell, I really recommend you to play casual since it doesn’t cost any points and it can help you improve while also getting points. I’ve been playing casual 1v1 since I’m scared to lose my actual rank and I can’t tell it really helps! Try it out for yourself.

I always think of enemies as perfect, funnily enough they usually are, that why you can't commit too hard and challenge carelessly. If you do that, your opponents have almost always free space to easily score. But when they miss, I instantly go for the ball, if my teammates do not (depends on my position, because it would be stupid to go for the ball across the map or when another opponent is already flying to it, and he will get there first). Only in rare situations, you need to challenge immediately, but if you do, make sure your teammates will cover it, so try to slow down the play or fifty-fifty to the side.

Honestly I gave myself a rule for trying to climb ranks where if I lose more than one or two games in a row I just stop playing because that’s when you start tilting and going on really bad losing streaks and making hella mistakes. Just switch to casual or play other playlists
