Fun fact 69 kids is the real world record. *I just uploaded a NEW long form video! Check it out by clicking the link above this video's title, and let me know what you think*
the Vietnam government only used to encourage parents to have 2 kids, there's actually no rules or laws that's against you having more than 2 kids (except for people who are working for the government).
I’m a Vietnamese, and about 2 kids policy, it’s just an encouragement for families to keep their own life in control. Because in the past we were poor and didnt have good enough financial & public ultilities condition. But 1 sad truth is, poor families more likely to have more children, then become poorer. i cannot explain but this problem would lead to poverty. So the 2-children program educated us to be more responsible for not only inviduals but also community. In the beginning, government started with some limit policies applied to its staff, just about slowing the salary raise and lower the max possible rank. Now the economy is better, and people generally have better awareness. So the 2-children now is just a reminder in our mind hhhh.
Curious how a "bad" country like vietnam worries enough about their people to do those programs. There have to be limits in terms of "liberty", as in the U.S there are parents who have more than 4 children, and they don't even worry enough for taking care of them properly.
@@XY_BERSERKI don't know about Vietnam, but that's the main issue for Brazil. There are programs that go to schools to teach about condoms, risk of pregnancy, all that and also government issued safety products at hospitals and stuff like that. But yeah, being poor and ignorant (not talking in an offending way, just matter-of-factly) can lead to people to really not understand protection and it's importance. Or, worse yet, what sex even is, which can lead to the consequences being realized too late.
Good luck paying the bill for delivery of that 69 kids, the same ammount of money could be used for delivery for 10-15 babies in developed countries in Europe
I do remember a story of a man who was forced to stop donating sperm due to the likelihood that his kids would unknowingly commit incest. Though that’s probably only because the kids didn’t know eachother, unlike in this case.
Valentina Vassilyeva, is said to have lived to be 76, and between 1725 and 1765, had 69 children (16 pairs of twins, 7 sets of triplets, and 4 sets of quadruplets); 67 of them survived infancy with the loss of one set of twins: the record for the most children born to a single woman.
Hello, Vietnamese here. There's really no laws preventing you from having more than 2 children. You're encouraged to have 2 children but there's really no laws that prevent you from having more than 2. My grandparents have 5 kids and all my uncles and aunts have 3-4 kids
@@msdhaliwal bruh, we have France, china, japan, and the USA try to invade our small country, and guess what, they always lose thank god our leader Ho Chi Minh doesn't want to fight you guys
Well in Vietnam we don't actually do that. The government just encourage families to have 2 children, but it's still up to the parents on how many kids they want. In fact, some still have 4-5 kids and they're still fine P/s: Thanks a lot for nearly 500 likes guys! Wish you all a nice day 🎉🎉
In 1991, when my brother was born, this was still enforced and my parents had to write apology letters along with not getting a raise for several years. They worked for the government though. Times are different now. I don’t believe this is enforced currently on government employees. People in the private sector have never been restricted.
Đó còn tuỳ bạn giống như những ai làm việc cho nhà nước như công an thì bắt buộc phải 2 con trở xuống trừ khi có bằng chứng là đã dùng biện pháp bảo vệ😊
@@Rescuedcatss well actually if you joined the government party then yes, you mustn't have more than 2 kids. I think this legislation was made to help the parents to have less stress and of course to make them focus more on their work. I don't understand much about the work in the government, so please tell me if I was wrong
It’s not really right or wrong, you know. We can only guess the reason. What I remember they said was we were heading toward over population and natural resources are scarce so it’s better if the population is replaced at the exact same rate. My dad said it’s because we like to follow what chína does. So since china says 1 child, we’ll do something similar but make it 2 children.
Fun fact:She would have the best time at Poland. The Polish Goverment doesn't have a limit to having a baby. If something,They pay you 800zł 200$ for every baby you have by month. In one month she can get 55200zł (13800$) It can make your family survive for long time. And its all IN 1 MONTH. She would have got 662400zł 165600$ every year.
@@kaiserknight1217reminds me of the joke in Futurama where bender adopted 10 orphans because each one they gave him 100 dollars a week, and he pretty quickly realized that he was an idiot for thinking he could profit off that.
Vietnamse here, In Vietnam has 2 child policy but if u have more baby then 2, u actually pay for 3rd baby. But the tube tied is not true Edit 1: bonus: if you don't pay the fine, the child after 2nd child may harder to be in the national database(ty for 1k likes btw)
@@May-yp4weIn the video it was not said that the mother has to get their tubes tied if she has more than 2 children, it was said that there is *compensation* for doing so. Our vietnamese comrade however says that its not true so I dont know.
There was an indian guy who was legally declared dead because relatives paid authorities to do so in order to get his money, and he ended up killing people so authorities would pay attention to him. He went to jail despite not being legally alive. Authorities don't care
Yeah, but unfortunately for her Men have the advantage over women in terms of maximum children possible. Unfortunately for the average man women have the advantage of having more kids on average then men do. Reason for the second point is there will always be more men in this world that die childless than there will be women dying childless. The differences between these averages, of course, are very small, but women do have a slightly more average than men do. Obviously this is the collective of men and women's average of children and isn't the average of individuals. I know someone is going to make that point so I have to state the obvious.
@Patar15 Every baby always has 1 genetic father and 1 genetic mother. So women averaging more childs than men is due to women living longer on average, so there are more mothers still alive than there are fathers still alive
@@poryzonegames942 you are forgetting that a man can have multiple wives which would make the average man have less children. 0 can be very brutal for averages.

Indian govt takes away many social benefits and govt job or ends your political career if 3rd kid is born after 2005. And there are some other state level rules as well. On the other side, couples with single kids get some extra monetary benefits and even more if child is a girl.
@@kwmccabeActually, not really. In developing countries, there is a high rate of female infanticide, due to women not being valued in society, not viewed as strong enough to work and all that. So, in order to deter that, the government gives money to people who have a baby girl. It’s to balance it out.
This is a misconception. China has pregnancy licences. The One Child Policy prevented couples who already had one child from being granted another licence. However, if twins were born the first time around that was fine. Additionally, there were numerous exemptions for rural areas and ethnic minorities.
Well, there was SOMETHING! NOBODY ever notices this, but if it was "one child" all the way, the population would have DECLINED noticeably, and it in fact seems to have about DOUBLED in that time! All they did in practice was tap the brakes it seems, and that's with a strenuous long-term effort! Just think if they HADN'T made that effort!
@@leonardpearlman4017This policy started from 80s, and recently birth rate dropped significantly in china so it’s no longer in effect. Not bringing it back tho
The 2 child policy in Viet Nam is more likely a recommend than a law, it isn’t strict like China Edit: I think the limit is 4 or 5 (to not get a fine, but the baby would still registered in the national database, though)
I’m Chinese. My grandmother had two daughters, and my mother told me that when she was pregnant with her third, the government came and dragged her out to get an abortion. Brutal stuff
@@Casey21. I’m pretty sure exceptions were okay Adoption centres were absolutely rampant with kids, my best friend is actually a Chinese baby adopted by Canadian parents
@Casey21. if I'm correct at the time they only allowed a second child if the first was a girl and boys were still the goal of most families. I'm not sure what happened to triplets but sometimes people would hide the existence of a child if it was girl twins so they can give birth to a second baby. Neglecting and killing babies are no joke- there was a time span where there was only girls to adopt HEALTHY GIRLS bring many foreigners to come to adopt
According to the official explanation, she had a lot of sets of multiplets (so many that it's statistically improbable, even if she had some disorder causing multiple ovulation). Overall the validity of the whole story is pretty questionable
Let me tell you a story about Vietnam child policy. Many women have 5, 7, and even 13 children, they are so poor to properly go to school or have a good meal. But when the government find a way to help them (tube tying and (surprise) suggested they wear condom, but the husband say it not comfortable)) they refuse all of the help, and the government just kinda giveup. So they live on the kindness of good people online.
@@epsilumeas far as I'm concern it really only applies to government officials or people holding some form of bureaucratic jobs at some short point in the past, it was never really an official law back then or now, only ever loosely enforcable in some more conservative regions
In the USA people can not afford to have their children in a hospital as delivering one baby costs $18.865 on average. That is including all the care and IF you have insurance that will cover it.
That's only if you're a responsible adult. People who decide they don't wanna work and just sponge off the government don't pay a dime...and more kids means more cash from daddy gubmint. 😂
THE WAY MY SMILE FADED AS SOON AS I SAW THIS UNORIGINAL COMMENT AND COMMITED ARSON IN 8 DIFFERENT HOSPITALS, RAN OVER 5 KIDS AND GAVE 11 ELDERLY WOMEN STDS BECAUSE U TYPED THAT COMMENT 😂😭😂
In the 1990’s my family owned a shop and next door there was a Chinese couple that had two boys, one was a toddler and one was basically an infant. The toddler would often come running into my parent’s shop and would be carrying his younger brother. His mother would come rushing apologizing but my parents never did mind. One day the toddler came in to my parents shop without his brother crying, and both parents ran into the shop to grab the boy and left all depressed. We don’t know what happened but we never saw the baby again. We can only imagine what happened but it was pretty clear.
I was born in china with a brother in 2011, my brother is 12 years old at the time and my mom lost her very low paying job as a nurse for having me. My parents ended up paying a fine of 64k yuan which is about 16k USD whenever I went outside with my family the others would make fun of us and laugh at us. Till this day I still don't really know why my parents decided to have me but yeah.
I recently heard China is now regretting that decision. China currently has a very low birth rate and this will cause a serious threat. Which is already happening in Japan.
They have a skewed demographic with too many old people for the few young people they have. Their preference for boys led to a huge gender imbalance as well.
What is causing low birthrate in China are social conflicts between men and women though, this would've happened regardless. China has a really nasty incel epidemic going on, only south korea can be worse in that regard. Misogyny and online harrassment is rampant. The root for all this is confucianism, an old asian ideology through which asians founded states. This is why you find the same problems in all the countries that were founded through confucianist principles. It organized society to be more collectivist, which has positive and negative unravelings. It's the kind of society where standing out is seen poorly. Because of that, communication and expression can be hard, and they are the crux of social developments. It was Society who arranged the who bangs who , arranged marriages and setups and all that. This helped with mitigating conflicts and disputes but caused the underdevelopment of social skills, not much more than how it currently is in the west but enough to generate visible effects in a dense population. Confucianist ideology is really rooted in how they interact socially and it is a millenia old ideology, it is not fit for the modern needs, paradigms and societal organization. Everything works against the upkeeping of said ideology, industrial structure, population density, technology... The same can be said about Patriarchy in the west btw.
The 1 child policy was implemented in the 80 due to very real fears of overpopulation, ethnic groups under 10 million were given exceptions. The limit was removed in 2021 and families are given financial incentives to have more kids.
I’m from Vietnam with a family of 3 and though there was a law about having a limit on 2 babies it is now longer applied. Only if you work in the government like being a police you would get fined.
lol in China tho the law said you’d only be fined, but oftentimes there will be forced abortion etc.. and the way they caused you an abortion isn’t usually… pleasant. There was even an extreme case in Shandong province known as 百日无孩运动 (Childless Hundred Days), where they aborted all fetuses in the province, whether they were the first child in the family or not. These abortions caused deaths of both mothers and their children
@@lbarnxit's pretty pathetic to think that this only happens when the woman doesn't want it and just does it because the man says so huh? So must definitely ALWAYS be forced by the man, to you guys?
