You answered all my questions! So it looks like I am buying a TV for my outdoor Pavilion again. I thought about a Projector, but I do not want to spend that kind of Cash.
I got a 4500Lumen Epson projector. I say It is jjst strong enough to be decent during summer with all blinds shut. 2500lumen only works at night during winter in my opinion. Even at these examples you are at half brightness from a TV.
I have a 20 foot wide pvc panels 21:9 250 diagonal screen with flat gray screen paint Optoma Uhd38 (4000 Lumens) projector which projects perfect video. You can go beyond the widths that you mentioned in your video without compromising picture quality.
Hi, good video. I was wondering what type of projectors people are using for those big outdoor shows with the inflatable screens these tend to be screens that are at least 18 to 24 feet wide.
This was really helpful. Been using projector everyday as a main TV for the past 6 years, never knew the things he's said. Thanks a lot. I'm looking for an 'everyday' cinema, netflix and mild gaming projector. Roughly on 6-7 hours everyday on average. We had BenQ W2000+ and we've already changed the lamp once in 5 years. We are not happy, it's not bright, colors are faded and it needs 100% darkness to work. Low day light, nothing is visible, if there's a darker film scene, it's like even projector is not on. Even in full darkness, dark scenes are challenging to watch, we don't see many scenes happen in films. So I'm open for suggestions, budget aside, we really need a sharp strong projector where we can watch with soft day light during the day, see colors vividly and don't have to change light bulb every 2 years.
Hello, I would look into changing the lamp more often with that use. Most don't even realize that the lamp progressively gets worse over time. It just does't go out. You can grab an inexpensive light meter and check it every year.
Normally if we look for projector specification, it will normally mention just lumens / ansi lumens. How do we find detailed information about white/color lumen color?
thanks man, very helpful. So what do you think about those cheap 200 USD projectors with "6000 lumens" on Amazon? They are a scam? How much is that big chunky boy of yours with 6000 lumens? It looks extremely expensive.
Terrific level of detail. I want to show powerpoint presentation in small very well lit room that is 30 ft length with good amount of windows during the day. Screen is 6 ft wide by 4 ' tall. My smart tv has HDMI ports. My laptop does too. Can I connect my laptop directly into my smart tv?
I don't. When I left the industry everyone was using laser projectors from Epson, Panasonic, or Cristie. If you're not projection mapping, everyone has mostly converted to LED wall at this point.
how about using multiple projectors using a computer with multiple monitor support like amd eyefinity? using 2 to 6 projectors, do I just add the lumens up? so if I have 1500 lumens for each projector and I have 4 projectors I have a total of 6000? or 4 projectors at 5000 are added up to 20,000 lumens?
Generally, two is the limit. It is exponentially harder to align more projectors as you stack them. I can’t say I’ve ever seen more than 3 stacked. I would stack 2x10k if you need 20k
Thank you so much sir u gave a best information that I wanted to get ..plz tell me ..I want to run a 20 foot screen in outdoor daylight .. suggest me the best progector ...any cost..
Thank you so much! I would love yours or someones advice on a project I want to do. I have an 18x44 foot mural I want to do projection mapping on at night. This is on a street with various dim business lights but no street lights. I'm going to use Lightforms projection mapping tools, but I'm trying to figure out the best projector to buy or rent. Appreciate your videos!!
what would you recommend for an 8" tall by 10" wide golf sim screen in a room with flourecent lighting in a shop simliar to a department store. I have a 3000 lumen benq but i do not want to have to turn off all the lights every time i use it and i also cant completely break the bank on this project.
Random question: I bought an Optoma eh500 projector. Need to connect a media player but it does not have a USB on the back. It does however have a 12v out. Any idea what cord I could use to get power from there to the media player?
Hi, I watch regular tv programming during the daytime. I watch movies and occasional gaming at night. My budget only permits max 3600 lumens projector (Epson) Screen size haven't exactly know yet but will probably around 90-110 inch
Aye man good video, how much lumens projector do I need to light a room with a lot of ambient lighting(church) and washy lights.... but idk know how big is the screen also our ceiling is very high and we want to mount upside down
Gday, thinking of buying the Anker nebula capsule portable projector but it only has 1000 lumens. I would be using this for bedroom. Do you think it's worth buying?
To be honest, I wouldn't consider anything under 2,500 lumens. The 1000 lumen stuff can be okay in a perfectly black room, but it's underwhelming and I'd rather just watch on my phone.
Question I’m building a movie theater in my backyard out of a metal building. It has no windows just pitch black darkness in the room. No I’m ive a really good Cinema Grey Screen with a pretty good gain. It rejects a lot of ambien light. Not I’m wanting to put a 300 inch screen inside it. Which it like 22 feet long and 22 feet high. Since it will be pure darkness inside. Will 6,000 Lumens be good to project a good image on a 300 inch screen? I know my Epson 6050UB rated at 2,600 Lumens on the same type screen looks fantastic on 150 inches and that’s a 11 foot screen in a very low ambien light room.
If you have zero light in the room, I think a 6k will pop just fine. There are online calculators for this type of thing if you want to triple check though. For comparison, we use our 6k on a 16' wide screen in a ballroom with "dinner" lighting and they are plenty bright.
Awesome I’m like you I like to use the Epson. I’m trying to use the EPSON PRO L1100U rated at 6,000 lumen 2,500,000 contrast ratio. 4K Enhancement. I wanted the ESPON PRO L1405 rated at 8,000 Lumens but it’s over double the price. And Due to the EPSON PRO L1100U being a discontinued item I found it for $3,000 cash out the door New In Box. The 1405 would have been like $7,000. So I thought give it a try. :)
Why u not.say inches for screen size? Most projectors on Amazon says in inches. Just saw Chigz Review, Botak 1080p has 7000 lumens for $199, projects to.300 inches screen
hi, great video especially one talking about outdoor projector image. I was thinking about putting a UST projector (VAVA ou Xiaomi) in a store for publicity purposes. I was getting a ALR screen too. The screen would be about 60cm from the glass and it wouldn t get any direct sunlight but it would be bright as hell so to speak. Viable to do? i just don t like the led video wall quality. And it s not so cheap either! Thank you in advance! Great video!
@@kettnercreative sorry to bother bit you have any reccomendation? I m spending hours and hours...some websites in china don t have full specs or they are wrong or there isn t enough information on youtube..it gets really confusing Thank you!
I just bought a projector with 1500 lumens.. i think its too little. I am going to have a very dark room, no windows, 60" screen, 9ft between. Does this sound all right? Or do i need more lumins?
Depends the screen size, but I would say it's pretty safe. Generally we would rent out a 5k projector for an 8' wide screen in a community hall with some windows and still be safe. That being said, you'll get a lot more colour depth when you're in a room without windows.
Interesting, but TRY and get manufacturers from China to SPECIFY which they are using, white or color, lol! Good luck! No info unless you're buying an upscale projector. For us budget boys and girls it's the wild west in terms of projector specification-anything goes! lol!
