Bonnie, years ago when I was camping I came back for the night to get in my sleeping bag & there was a mouse in my sleeping bag giving birth!!!! You talking about finding mice & babies in your kitchen just triggered that memory 😂😂

We have dealt with some serious mice issues and YES they totally learn to avoid traps. It’s so irritating. Our cats were the ticket!!

Don’t know if it’s the same over in America but in Australia (Qld) I have been told by quite a few pest control specialists that mice are definitely getting smarter and can avoid getting caught.

Consider setting up a camera in your closet to see if you can detect any movements of mice. I’d be petrified they’d be hiding in my shoes! 😱

I had to put a cam in my garage, I had one tiny mouse eating off a trap until I added cheese with pb & finally caught it! It’s so annoying…

You have to use tootsie rolls so when they bite their teeth get stuck! Works every time!

Hi Bonnie I’ve been having mice trouble too and the mice can run and jump so fast I’m permanently on edge of sofa check in side shoes they nest any wear try putting mint plants around they hate mint smell hopefully a little tip of the mint might help xx

Bon-Bon!! That’s how everyone in my family knows you. Everytime I’m on YT my kids say, “mama, is that Bon-Bon?” lol. It makes me heart sing. This may not mean a lot to you, but even with the mice, I’d still eat from your kitchen. lol. I’m so weird that I NEVER eat from people’s kitchen because I don’t know if they are clean. We didn't have luck with peanut butter, but using a tootsie roll rolled up between your fingers and stuck to the trap worked like a charm.

Bonnie, My pantry is on the 1sr floor of my house and inside my closet upstairs of my house....the friggin mice carried rice into my closet (funny thing my rice is in a tight seal container and not touch. They must of made a hundred trips.... I HATE mice!!!

Mice are sneaky 😭😭😳we live in an apartment and they were coming from a hole from the back of our oven. Welllll we set traps and we caught 2, did a DEEP clean and left traps back there and haven’t seen any for while. Welll guess what😅 I recently pulled oven forward and poops were RIGHT NEXT TO THE TRAPPPSSS! I was livid so we had to set a crap ton of traps out to make sure that the floor was covered with them so they can’t even touch the floor🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️😅

If the mice were around your shoes it's a possibility that they crawl in and out of your shoes so disinfect your shoes before you put your foot in them

I need you and Joel to come to my house and set it up with traps. You make it look so easy. We have a few set up but the mice take all the food and run. It's so annoying. This is our first one for the year. Winter has just begun.

We had that same jerking with our newer GMC truck. It definitely has to do with the towing. They never could pin point and fix it even though they said they did. We ended up buying a new truck! That is a horrible feeling to have the breaks lock up when pulling so much weight. Especially with your babies in the truck.

As you pulled the foil out of the box, I remembered many years ago pulling wax paper out of the box. Lo and behold!! Mouse “pills” (as we call it)! That stinkin’ mouse had pooed in my wax paper!! 💩💩

We use green Irish Spring soap cut into pieces around the house to get rid of them. Cats do help! Don’t call me, I am terrified of those varmints! Good Luck!

So we have mice on occasion and we found that if you put peanut butter on all the traps but don’t set them all it tricks the mice. Change the location of the traps that are set and they get used to eating off of them and nothing happening so they fully trust it and then BAM caught one

Ohh my goodness! I remember mouse hunting, ugh! We have an outdoor kitchen. One day I was looking in one of the drawers out there, and thought I saw a strange looking string, and when I reached in to pick it up it jumped and scurried to the back of the drawer! My husband said he got it however….I don’t open those drawers anymore!!😱😳

After our small mouse infestation, for months I would periodically see what I thought were mouse droppings here and there. It turned out that it was just lint from my hubby’s dark socks or from his sweatpants. By the way, I love your dress!

When my car did that jerking and barely running- it was because a rat/mouse or squirrel made its way inside and chewed the wires - we moved a few weeks later because it was a known problem in the area we moved to and it was a new neighbourhood so I didn’t realize😭🥴

He's probably having trouble with his truck because you all is trying to pull that big massive VR trailer with that small truck when you go on your family traveling adventures so it's probably wearing out some of the parts in the truck, he probably needs a bigger truck that can handle something that big to pull especially up hills

We we lived in the country we would get mice from time to time and the mice would lick the penut butter off and never set the trap off. So someone told us to use a wet tootsie roll and it worked everytime. They have to put their teeth in it instead of just licking the penut butter and we didnt have any trouble catching them. You dont even have to use the whole tootsie roll. Just a little bit will do the trick. I know how you feel. I was always terrified one would run over my feet or something so i am so glad we tried the tootsie roll. Hopefully you want get anymore but being in the country you may have to deal with them from time to time.

You've probably heard it a million times, but get an indoor only cat and a couple of outdoor cats. For the indoor cat, there are awesome self-cleaning litterboxes (Tannerites), and they will keep the mice out! The outdoor cats will have a good time keeping the mice away from the yard. The mice will quickly avoid the danger and the smell of the cats.

Check dressers that don’t have a lot of traffic take the drawers out and check behind them also. Set up a camera in rooms u find the most poop.

Change the food you leave, cause they get smarter with the traps also try not to leave clothes in the floor they love to sleep in there.

Better than peanutbutter on traps is you chew a tootsie roll and put some on the trap they can't lick it off like the peanutbutter always worked for us.

PLEASE trust me when I tell you that you NEED to hot glue a popcorn kernel onto the trap. They can easily get a little peanut butter off of the trap without setting it off.

I'm sure this has probably been suggested before, but have you thought about getting a couple of barn cats? They would thrive there! Just ask the adoption agency for more feral cats, you won't have to worry about a mouse again.

My mouse story.. We have a trap in the alcove above our bedroom. One night heard a snap, then bang bang bang for several minutes. It finally stopped. Next morning, hubster checked it. Empty, but all that was left was a.....leg. ugh. Set another. Next night...snap! Hubster checked the trap. A mouse, with 3 legs. Ugh Ugh Ugh. We keep traps in our garage where we think they enter and catch them all the time.I'm obsessed with looking at them when I walk through the door. I don't fear spiders, snakes . But mice?🤪😝😬😖
