How many nest boxes per chicken? 

You frequently read that you should have 1 nest box for up to 4 chickens. That may work out if all of your chickens lay at a different time. I have 8 hens and they all lay nearly at the same time. This presents a problem like eggs on the floor of the coop, or worse, eggs outside in the dirt on the run. What's the solution? Here's what I'm recommending.
