Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be remembered with great affection and respect by all who lived through her reign and understood her devotion to her duty. She was a kind and wise woman. King Charles III may not be as popular but he is also a kind man and those who know him well have respect and affection for him too. @Dollie Did you ever read the Court Circular or look up just how many patronages HM The King had before his accession? How many events he attended? He was constantly on the go. All that prepared him for being king. He was very close to his "dear Mama" and I am sure he sought her advice over the years. PS I think you'll find that he was hugely popular wherever he went. Not that his aim was to be popular.

One of our family friends is from Ukraine, and apparently they celebrate Christmas on New Year’s Day. So, Santa delivers the presents on New Year’s Eve, and they receive gifts, have the dinner and do all the celebrations on New Year’s Day. Just to clarify as well, this friend is not a refugee from the war. She has been living in England with her husband and family for about 20 years now.

My husband and I always taught all four of our boys exactly WHO Christmas is about and we celebrate HIS(Jesus Christ) birth😊. When any of our boys would start showing signs of “me, me” during Christmas time, we(my husband and I) would immediately shut their self-centered attitudes down by asking them, “WHO’S birthday are we celebrating?”, and they would tell us “Not mine, mama and daddy, it is Jesus birthday”. The boys would also help me with making a birthday cake and then frost and decorate the cake for Jesus with one candle, then on Christmas afternoon my husband would light the candle and the boys would sing “Happy Birthday Dear Jesus” then they would clap and together and blow out the candle, after they each said their own prayers to HIM. P.S. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE😊!!

The tradition of Christmas Eve' family dinner and gift opening upon the apearance of the first star in the dark sky is a tradition in several European countries. In Poland it is traditionally a vegetarian meal (fish allowed!) at a table where there is one extra setting ready for a unexpected guest/wonderer🌲 Best wishes for a joyful and merry Christmas. We also celebrate on Christmas eve, my Husbands Mother is Norwegian so we open presents Christmas eve, it works out very well as we do it all again with my Family on Christmas Day, The Queen will be sadly missed at 3pm on Christmas day, but am looking forward to King Charles 111 speech, I'm sure we will all be very reflective!

Every family celebrates differently. Some see Christmas as it was meant to be - a celebration of the birth of Jesus, others are only interested in what presents they will get, while others only use it as an excuse for excess food and alcohol. It's a short holiday for the working Royal Family so they go to their privately owned Sandringham Estate in rural Norfolk to celebrate together. Presents on Christmas Eve as a nod to Queen Victoria's husband Prince Albert of Germany; church on Christmas morning; then games and fun like any other family. How wonderful.

I’ve always looked forward to listening to the Queen’s Christmas message. I’m American but she was part of my Christmas tradition. Nothing against the King, but I just prefer her. There was something about her dignity and grace that just made Christmas seem more special.
