Re: the barn - my daughter is a brand new (private) pilot. She learned to fly in coastal NC where there were plenty of flat, but distinctive, areas. Rivers, ponds, fields, wooded areas that could be used as waypoints. She found flying in a city kind of confusing at first - when you’re used to eyeballing “the green field” for an emergency landing backup or following the river to the coast it can be disorienting to see endless houses, along with all the obstacles you have to avoid. A big red barn would be really useful in the suburbs of Orlando. All we have is the power plant. 😂

I met those guys from the jump team at the Chino air museum last month. They are serious about their reenactments. All of their gear is legit. I even put on a shute rig they wear..

If I could buy a warbird, I'd look for either a Dauntless (my grandpa was the radio man/gunner of one in WWII) or if I REALLY could buy ANY warbird I'd get a P-61 Black Widow.

I would go with the P-61 as well, they're so cool to look at. I'm just happy to be ably to look to my left and see a model of one though, but they are really cool, especially being designed as the first aircraft to use radar

You should get the demo of I Am An Air Traffic Controller 4 from Steam. It puts you in the tower/approach/departure/ground at Tokyo Haneda. It is all point and click with no voice commands but it is still an fun demo to play.
