I just got to 8 reps at 315 not long ago. I can do 405 for 2, and my 1rm is 440. One day, I plan on deadlifting 700-750

I'm a hard ass when it comes to deadlifting. I believe you should reset each rep and treat them like singles instead of touch and go. So 1 rep

Reset is easier than touch n go because with reset you get to rest

Dead stopping each rep is significantly harder as breaking the bar off the floor is the hardest part of the lift and bouncing essentially removes it through a mix of momentum and stretch reflex which there is none of when pausing. Don’t be silly man!!

Brutally impressive brother. Love your grimacing 😂. As an aside I asked Jeff Alberts how and why he is virtually expressionless and he makes no noise even in the final reps of a hard set. His reply was that it wastes energy and he wants perfection including lack of grimacing and grunting etc. I tried it this morning in my workout and failed. Face twisted and grunting as usual… but it was an interesting comment from one of the great natty lifters.

Good work but I wouldn’t count them unless you reset each rep. Doing it that way you would probably get 6 or 7 reps. Touch and go makes a huge difference.

Not sure deadlifts those are touch and go deadlifts meaning bouncing on the bottom without resetting . He probably can only truly do 315 lbs with proper legit form

Any tips on bracing for long sets liek this? Rep 1 my brace is good but it just gets worse every rep. I'm like trying to hold my brace while breathing and it just gets worse.

These long AMRAP sets are terrible for breathing and bracing. I just do them occasionally for fun and to test my strength. Normally I never go over 8 reps on any heavy compounds cuz at that point just cardio and oxygen become more of a limiting factor than the actual lift.

If you are really concerned about oblique growth, I do deadlifts a lot and my V-taper is still very good.

Good strength but poor form. Still strong either way, but touch and go definitely makes the beginning of the movement easier. The hardest part of the deadlift is right off the floor. Impressive lift either way, but this is a good way to get injured as well for the average Joe.
