I am confused. According to my COD knowledge, riot shield can withstand nuclear blast. BUT according to my crysis knowledge, predator bow can one shot killer alien robot.
@@meatloafisgood2374 haha yeah definitely maim. As much as I love season 1-2 I don't think the message that vibe sends with this video is a good one. I was just saying it because I thought it was funny. 😁👍
This just shows the power of modern compounds compared to traditional archery. The difference is just as stark as a black powder musket vs a 30.06 hunting rifle.
If the weight on both bows were comparable the results at those ranges would not be so drastic. The recurve was under 50# and the compound was probably 60-70. The recurve was not tuned (the brace height was so low the fletchings were on the shelf at rest that bow would need 7-8.5 inches brace height he had it at like 5.5) now mind you if the bows were comparable in weight and both were tuned with similar arrows you would still see a difference but it would not be as dramatic until you got father away and then the differences would be more pronounced.
Traditional Turkish style horn and sinew bows still hold the record for long distance, I think it’s about 800m but not many people have the strength to draw them lol
Real life: 1 Crossbow arrow goes through 2 shields and can still be lethal. Call of Duty MW2: "Watch me block this Predator Missle and an RPG with a riot shield!"
For anyone watching, if you are using a bow the arrow actually bends a bit in mid flight from the energy transfer it get from being launched from the bow. This means you won't get the full foot pound transfer until after a certain amount of in flight time. I'd give it about 20 meters. Crossbow bolts don't tend to have this problem because of the more rigid bolts they use and shorter pull length.
@@Runejitsu In my country like 6 years ago there was a revolt of indians from bagua making riots because they didn t want minning near their towns. So there was a huge melee between them and the police. And yeah arrows were used to defend frm the police. It was pretty bloody.
The arrows are breaking due to the shields trying you spring back into shape after being deformed by the hit. The snap back effect is fighting the arrow's flight force and causing the arrow to have competing waves of force rippling along the shaft that breaks the arrow where the waves collide.
Remember to inspect your carbon arrows before reusing them: sometimes they crack after doing stuff like this, and they can shatter as you are shooting the bow next time. If they shatter while shooting, it is possible that the back half of the arrow shaft would hit your bow hand as the arrow leaves the bow.
As a specialized tactical security and defense agent this is a disturbing eye opener. Good to be alert to these types of threats we may encounter in the field. Thank you for posting

These seem more like the ones that are more for containing crowds. For stuff like active shooters and hostage rescues, they have actual ballistic shields. You should see if you can get your hands on some!
It was surprising the field points had that effect, broad heads most likely would have no problem passing thru, like a hot knife thur butter. I guess the shields lack the ancient roman grit.
You defeat shields by firing in mass at an upward inclination from a protected position farther away. Or in closer proximity from various higher elevation positions down on the target. Shields do not protect the top, lower part and backside of the target. 😁
it really depends on the poundage of your bow and the weight of the arrow. I recognized the arrow you use is a cheap carbon fiber arrow sold on amazon, which is very light and have low penetration ability
This is exactly it. He wasn't using the right equipment. I have to order specialized heavy arrows for my recurve bow and the impact is a lot higher than a light one from a crumby shop. My bow can literally kill an elephant if I have the correct broadhead, as well.
exactly, there are a huge number in variables in archery equipment. l bet l could take my 45lbs recurve with heavy arrows and they would punch through, not because of speed, but because of kinetic energy resulting of the heavy mass multiplied by the speed.
Meowrushart Meow Lol non of them could reasonably use a bow.... also the riot shields used in this video seem different than ones used by actual swat and riot police
i need a homie like that cameraman dude. whenever I'm down and it feels like the world is taking a piss on me and the bro behind me holding my shoulder and say "ey bro... AMMMMMMMMM READDYYYYYY!"
