How Many Shinies Can I Catch With 100 Pokeballs?

I like that shinies are easier to find in this game because it implies that over time they have become rarer because everyone seeks them out

Pokemon in the water, Tentacruel especially, are the absolute worst

If you're not sure which is the shiny, you can lock onto the pokemon by pressing the left trigger, itll show a little shiny icon! Just wanted to let you know since you weren't sure with the shellos! That way you won't have to get into battle if you dont want to:)

For future reference, if you target the Pokémon it’ll say if it’s shiny, and if a shiny despawns because of time the slot is still shiny so the next mon there will be shiny

My first non-request shiny was a Stantler and it ran away from me the first time. I reset my game and then threw a Poké Ball immediately upon seeing it again (I saved immediately when I saw it because I knew it ran).

Well, rewatching this again...makes me feel glad John doesn't have all perfect research and is still finding all these shinies. Cause I've only found, like, 8 or so shiny mons, and I really didn't want to sit there and grind out perfect research on every single pokemon in the game. But seeing that glimpse of John's dex when he checked on Gardevoir's spawn time and seeing only "complete" dex entries makes me feel better that I don't have to get to perfect.

This is a good reason to add arceus to my list of games I want eventually. I've always wanted to shiny hunt but I literally cannot dedicate hours or days or at worst years to get a damn recolor..seeing them be more reasonable in newer games makes me happy! They're still a bit hard, but not so hard that it'll take you literal ages for something not worth that much time. I struggle to get motivation just for showering, spending days of my time on a recolor really won't be a priority like ever. I have the lets go games, haven't beaten it, but I've heard it's easier to shiny hunt on too once you get postgame..I'll have to give that a go at some point too :) I can never get shiny charms however due to the fact I can't trade evolve..which is such a stuid thing honestly and I'm happy newer games have realized how hard it is for people to get them, like how sword&shield spawns them fully evolved in the wild or arceus let you evolve them without trade (I think with objects?). They really need to take out trade evos..it just locks part of the game to many many people who have no one to trade with, especially as the trading system is built around RANDOM trades..the odds of getting the mon you want AND it evolving are very low, and sending yours out to evolve won't guarantee you'll get it back like ever. Also, if I do end up getting legends arceus at some point, I'll 100% shiny hunt psyduck! I got a random full odds one in pokemon Y during my journey..but I no longer have the specific version I caught it on, I have no idea where it went and I'm still a bit crushed about that. So I'd like to catch another to sort of make up for it

For a possible part 2 grab Mikey and Jack and have a competition to see who can find the most shiny pokemon with 30 pokeballs

I once got 7 shinies in one day, including two parasect in one outbreak, but my luck was gone after that John having such consistent luck is just so insane

I think it would be cool if you did this as a challenge with purplecliffe and mandjtv to see who catches the most shinies with a limited amount of pokeballs

fun tip, if the pokeball does those 3 bounces its a 50/50 if it catches. If it does that small bounce, just treat it like a critical catch, if it barely comes up, then you can safely assume you caught it.

A shiny I really love that wont shine for me is the Zubat line. I love Crobat's shiny so much and since i caught a shiny Gligar, its the last shiny I REALLY want.

The first shiny I saw was a Eevee, but it ran and I didn’t save! So today I found another and got a shiny Umbreon!

Love how both John and Mikey failed to catch a shiny Chansey, but John handled it so much better than Mikey did.

I just caught my VERY FIRST shiny in any of the Pokémon games I've played! And yeah, it was in PLA where it's easier, and yeah, it was just a Kricketot, but still! It wasn't an outbreak, I was just standing outside a space time distortion waiting for it to form, and there it was! Full odds too! No shiny charm! ETA: More shinies! Machop x2, Lickilicky x2, Golbat x1!

So with the shiny Alpha Gardevoir….you could’ve just gone back to camp, slept until morning, go back to the Gardevoir and it would respawn and still be shiny.

This game is great for shinyhunting. Im currently grinding for shinycharm. Already 174 of 240 entrys completely.

I'm a new Pokémon player, and I was getting really stressed about my shiny alpha Sliggoo hunt (I was getting worried I was doing things wrong), but you have motivated me with this video! Thanks! I'll update this when I finally catch my precious bean (who I'm gonna name Dreamy because. Idk?) and officially get my second ever shiny! Edit: Haven't caught it yet. Turns out I really WAS doing it wrong, and basically wasted 57 encounters. For hardcore shiny hunters? Not that much. For me (keep in mind I get bored while grinding easily), it was a lot. I'd probably be at around 160 encounters if not for that. Plus, I realized I had completely forgotten that I didn't have research level 10 for Sliggoo, which put my odds somewhere around 1/4000 (forgot the actual odds). No, I have not beaten the game, so I don't have the shiny charm. And I don't have the perfect dex entry for Sliggoo. But hey, my chances are at around 1/2000 now, so that's better! I'm not gonna name it Dreamy. I've decided I'd name it depending on when it was caught and how many encounters it took. Let's say I catch it on my 143rd encounter at sunset. I would call it "Fanta the 143rd" due to the color of the sky and, of course, the encounters. To give a full scope of possible names, day=Pepsi, night=Coke, sunrise/sunset=Fanta, and fog/rain=Sprite.

QQTD: I have gotten over 50 shinies in my 200 hours of legends arceus but the ONLY shiny I have failed was a white striped basculin. those guys notice you from 50 feet away and then run away. i tried saving the game but since I fought a roselia autosave activated and it was gone forever. I did get 2 more shiny white striped basculin that I caught (one of them is now a basculiegion) but I'm always gonna remember that basculin...

I got 2 shiny dusclops from the same group. I heard the first sparkle and got excited and then the 2nd set started.... I was thinking I was in a pre Legends game and had to choose the shiny. But I quickly remembered what game I was playing and managed to catch both. This game is amazing to shiny hunt and congrats on all the shines you found in this game and sorry to those you missed. I am not brave enough to do this challenge

Omg I got my first shiny Geodude the exact same way as you during my playthrough! My team was about level 30 when I found it grinding to get up to level 35. My golem is a proud member of my team now at level 70.

If a daytime shiny Pokémon goes away at night, the new Pokémon that spawns in that slot will be shiny. Or you could rest at the camp to set the time to day, and have the shiny be a daytime Pokémon.

Arceus tip: if you see a poke ball jump 1 time its an garrenteed catch

I really want to use a shiny hisuian zoroark on my team. And I haven’t been able to play the main story for a week and a half, and 23.5 hours of gameplay, because I’ve been looking for a zorua mass outbreak. And I haven’t even started the real hunt yet, I’m just looking for the outbreak. Arceus take me now. Great job on the video John! Thank you for making our days a little bit shinier!

Me and my friends had a forever search for a female shiny Basculin. My friend wanted both forms of shiny Basculegion, but during our searching, we found a total of 5 shiny Males. He finally got a Female, but we have a headcanon that they only come from the near-the-Volcano outbreak where the warm water is, due to all of the males coming from the icy region. XD

Some of my favorite shinies I’ve caught have been- Magneton from SPTD, Rufflet from outbreak, Sligoo from massive outbreaks, random “?” Unknown. My 3 different shiny zoruas. And as weird as it sound a shiny Mime Jr. That I reclaimed after I lost the first one I found

Idk I've had a pretty difficult time finding them. I've only had one random shiny and then I caught two from outbreaks but I've been playing for over 50 hours

I've learned real fast that when the ball bounces with only one smoke puff it's a guaranteed catch.

I have caught a shiny Luxio in Legends Arceus. But once, I ran into a space time distortion at the Coronet Highlands and encountered a shiny Luxray but as I threw my Pokeball, the space time distortion ended and didn’t get to catch it.

A little help with chansey shinies: if you take damage near them they run *up* to you instead of *away* from you, as long as the damage stays that is!

This video seems like the universe's way of tormenting me for finding a shiny drifblim, but accidentally throwing a ball at a mantyke because it was closer than the shiny and was what my camera focused on. I caught the mantyke, turned around, and the shiny was nowhere to be seen. It despawned...
