If you have an existing bed with a head board and end board attached using single side rails that just slide into to both ends can you buy a conversion kit to make it a platform bed but still use and connect the existing head & end boards to it.
Hello Paul. Sometimes you can get away with using a bunkie board (slats) but you need to make sure the side rails have a lip to accept this kind of support.
The frame a t .24 seconds; what is the cheapest center support beam to buy in the market (let's say Home Depot)? The center support that runs from head to foot of the bed is always made to weak from most manufacturers. Pain in the butt
How many slats are needed to properly support a bunkie board? Also, how does one choose a bunkie board...are they all pretty much the same or are some better than others?
A bunkie board has slats. the slats on the bunkie board have to be 2" apart or less to uphold any warranty. The bunkie board (slats) can fit on any basic frame. There are some heavier duty bunkie boards that will withstand more weight.
Reseller here. For full and queen size, assuming the bunkie board will rest on the bed frame sides you'd ideally want at least 3 slats WITH CENTER SUPPORT LEGS. For twin size you dont need any slats.
Hi Alex. A sheet of plywood by itself isn't recommended, but you can put plywood over the slats if your slats have more than 2 inches of space in between them to offer more support for the mattress.
Will this help with shaking? Just bought a platform bed frame for our new mattress and every time my fiancé moves, the bed shakes. The slats are 3 inches apart
@@keeganwhite203 you should of saw how i dealt with mine. 2x4's underneat and i screwed plywoods with floreing screws. The base i had was very cheap but now its no longer shaking
