Not that the others have been bad but this was genuinely one of the funniest pod episodes from the fellas in a min. I was cracking tf up the whole time 😭😭😭
I must say, this is arguably the best episode I’ve ever watched 😂😂😂. I was laughing all throughout this episode, the tangents were jokes 😂😂😂. Of course the pure basketball episodes during the season are also top tier, but these off-season pods are great 👌🏾😂
honestly I don’t understand how you can have Bron as a superstar and not AD cause AD was the best player on the lakers this past year. They were 2-4 without AD and 6-5 without Bron. I love Bron but I feel like people don’t give AD enough credit just cause he plays with bron and that’s highlighted by you guys saying AD isn’t a superstar.
Also if you look at the context of the games that were played without Bron vs AD it’s way different. 4/6 of the games AD missed were against teams that are below .500. While 7/11 games Bron missed were teams that were above .500. My point in saying this is that AD without Bron performed much better than Bron without AD despite AD having to go against better competition. I do believe Bron is a superstar but no way you think Bron is one but AD isn’t, it’s just flawed logic unless you’re going solely on marketability.
They def don’t pay attention to lakers games as much as they should I think we mix being impress with what Bron is still able to do at his age and not is overall impact on the game Ad is by far the most impactful player on the Lakers
It’s like a Mandela effect I see so many people say he came back from injury and won the game but I remember him playing thru injury and them getting wooped and he came out the game early
Who they dressed like segment: Dmills- looking like he going to Arizona Pierre- looking like he bout to stand outside on the corner liquor store Kenny- High school kid happy to wear his Caleb jersey Mike- looking like he sells fire sticks outside Walmart
Anthony Davis led the league in rebounds , Top 2 Defensive player in the world , and gave you 25 ppg there is no other player in the league that is capable
Pels had Jrue and Lonzo creating plenty catch and shoots for BI years ago. The year Zion missed was when BI played his most natural game, if the Pels didn’t start 3-16 he may have had steam to be an all star that year, and he averaged 27 in the playoffs. Zion assisted the 10th most threes last season but it still didn’t translate to BI getting more attempts up, so now with Dejounte if he’s gonna get more up it has to be now
Great show - IMO Ant needs more than one playoff run/all-NBA season to reach superstar status. Cool seeing y'all on the AEW PPV whenever camera was showing that side btw. Please share stories next show.
Ingram showed during the World Cup and the season that he is not a max player. And he always miss a shit ton of games. He’s probably more like 30 mil type guy
I really love the podcast since through the wire but have noticed the volume is really low and I that work driving cannot hear this podcast on my vehicle, could the volume be upped for the next podcast? Love the content guys and keep it going!
"Marcus Smart was giving you 30." @50:38 Bro averaged 15 in high school and 18 at OSU lol nobody questions P when he talks about high school/college hoops
The fact y’all never mention Keldon Johnson when you talk about the spurs is disappointing. He was the biggest victim to the mess they were last season, and could have the biggest bounce back. He’s only 24 and I believe he’s a better player than Sochan, at least right now.
donovan mitchell just got so many playoff moments. 4 50 point games, top 10 in ppg, averaged 30+ in multiple runs. he only has one all nba, but he was most certainly getting 2 if he played 65 games. he’s never gone on a deep run, but bro got injured down 2-1 to the champions. if that series happens in the conference finals instead of finals, he’s a better player? he’s a superstar? we’re talking about a guy that always has homecourt and has never missed the playoffs. i think if peak dame is a superstar, current spida is a superstar as well
Jokic, Giannis, luka, Embiid, LeBron, Curry, Tatum, Shai are the only superstars in the league to me imo. Players who I think can be the best player on a championship level team. Don’t think KD or AD can and are more 1b type of players at this point of their careers. ANTs teetering the line imo then there’s like book and Brunson around there too
Why is D Mills getting called out for basing superstar status mostly on last season but the top 10 player rankings at each position should only be based on last season? lol where is the logic
Love the reminiscing part about all the players especially with Blake because he was going crazy in his prime. However, even though he gave it is his all the Pistons got swept 4-0 by the Bucks in 2019
As someone living in Europe, lowkey think Wemby is a superstar already. He’s commercially there alr, was second in DPOY and all-NBA output second half of the season.
NBA 2k ratings are so crazy compared to FC/FIFA game ratings. I don’t know how the way the game operate but the best players in the world start at around 93 maximum, and about 10 in total over 90 - if that. Gives the players a full season to earn improvements based on form and for a gradual increase in quality over the season.
I think the knicks really gonna do it this year and get top 5 in offense and defense, like probably 4-5 on both, but I could definitely see it! And obviously okc is for sure in top 5 for both, and probably Boston as well!
IMO being a superstar is about your play and most importantly STARDOM. Just because you're a top 10 player consistently doesn't make you a "superstar" if you constantly fly under the radar off the court. Steph and Lebron are the definition of modern superstars. A lot of players most consider superstars just because they're top players just aren't. That title is given way too easily. It's like knowing the names Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar without being invested in Football, same can't be said for majority of "Superstars" in the NBA.
How is Brunson not a superstar? 28 PPG in 2023 playoffs, 32 PPG in 2024 playoffs. And AD is a superstar, so is Bron. The struggles of the Lakers are because of roster construction, lack of a quality center, inconsistent shooting, and lack of defense.
I'm a fan of y'all since 2019, I hope if y'all see this if Y'all read the comments, IMO, it's very disappointing how y'all view Anthony Davis, but when Damian Lillard's name pop up Kenny gave him benefit of the doubt, Im sorry but AD is just flat out better than Dame, no player in the association carries the two way burden AD does. You guys are wondering about his scoring like he's just Bam Adebayo on offense when in fact, he always carry defensively and always a DPOY caliber while dropping 25ppg with a bag on offense as a big man. He's been the Lakers best player, he's flat out better than Bron for the past 2 seasons. I'm sorry but y'all cant dismiss AD just because of the Lakers being ass, AD did everything he could, the team overall just suck. There's only 1 superstar on the lakers and that's AD. Bron is old, he still a star but not a superstar anymore. He only has that title because of overall greatness of his career, so take Bron's superstar status with a grain of salt. Stop saying that "If there's 2 superstar on the lakers why they suck?"... Injuries and incompetent roster that's why, and a 40 years old LeBron. AD is a superstar, no doubt, he's been the 1A of the Lakers. He's pretty healthy for the past 2 seasons aswell. Outside of 2021-2022, hes been a monster and a borderline top 5 player in the league all throughout his career. Y'all cant say hes not a superstar when y'all giving Kyrie, Kawhi and Dame this much benefit of the doubt like wtf are we doing here. He's better than Kyrie and Dame right now, and the last time Kawhi acted like a superstar was 2019. And if we're being honest, this is also the only season where Kyrie dominates since like 2018 season, think about it, he's either injured or having drama. I only consider past performance because it's clear y'all took it into consideration in this conversation.
