I have some bad news about Sloth IF. The author kind of confirmed through Aganau IF that when Subaru died in Sloth IF, he is going to Return by Death in front of the Appa man.
@@MonkeySaiyans Subaru's save point is set in front of the Appa seller from Arc 3 and has not changed. Therefore, after his peaceful life ends and his eyes close for the last time, his real nightmare will begin because he will Return by Death to the save point in front of the Appa seller.
Subaru is simply the unluckiest guy ever. Imagine just getting isekaid only to find yourself in a world that is cruel as fuck and with the ability to "Return by death". Basically you are in endless hell with no escape and you just gotta suffer thru it.
It not really that cruel if Subaru didn’t stick with Emilia. Toss in any other protagonist and they would ditch her and basically be living in a stein gate-like show.
@heavenseeker2320 well, in the sloth route he gave Emilia up and took rem and lived happily with her till his death. Bad thing is in that route he resets back to the apal shop and looses the 70+ years that he lived happily with rem
@@heavenseeker2320you gotta understand that Subaru was a hikimori . This new setting was a restart for him. He didn’t want to go back into his life of abstinence and being someone that makes no contributions to the world
The fact that Subaru ONLY has around 10K deaths with Reinhardt as his main enemy, BLOWS my mind. The pride route Subaru is a different kind of beast entirely.
@@flixytip4571the only way Subaru could possibly win against Reinhardt is psychologically, which one could argue pride if Subaru did, along with whichever if it was where he became the purge king
The only way he ever won against Reinhardt was to break his image of being a "Hero." Basically the classic "If I can't destroy you, I'll destroy those around you."
Tappei confirmed that when Rem:If Subaru dies of old age he will be reset to arc 3. Which makes me wonder how they will survive Kararagi great disaster, the "Night Weeping".
@@blackfaith351it was honestly a good ending, he gets the chance to relive his life again from zero. He gets the chance to save all the people he loves after all the suffering he went through.
I feel like the Lust If would be funnier if it was more akin to Camilla's outlook on the world everyone loves and desires Subaru but he doesn't have any feelings of love or desire for anyone not even Emilia. And I can only imagine how he would quickly go mad under the attention as well as his loss of his own feelings. Instead of what it is where he becomes a playboy.
Ooh, that's perfect, cause it's Sloth IF - not peaceful life IF. It'd be perfect way to show that, after all this time, subaru has been coping with survival guilt and couldn't forgive himself for running away.
I mean in pride he accepts it because he sort of finishes his mission? At least according to him, he destroyed all Emilia's enemies and made Reinhart look incompetent so surviving people have only Emilia to look up to as saviour. Or something, Pride is written a bit vague and confusing.
I will say that lust if is impressive: he managed to rizz up Priscilla. That is crazy feat in of in its self. And if Petra didn’t exist in the lust if route than maybe it would be an okay route.
@@jestapath7373 in the lust if route it’s unknown because it was written as a joke. The author doesn’t state where it diverges so we can’t say how he managed to get a harem.
There has to be atleast one verse where subaru has memories from ALL these verses, either mentally breaking him for good or making him the strongest man alive.
Theory: We know one of the conditions for him to truly die is satisfaction in a goal. (Emila becoming the ruler in one of the route then he dies and goes to the realm where Stella is) In the sloth route, if he were to die of old age (with the satisfaction of being with his wife and children), wouldn't he truly die
i love how RBD is written nowadays. We can tell Subaru has died because he knows things that he shouldn't know yet, but its not explicitly stated. It also parallels Al as his RBD thing is treated the same way throughout the story. I doubt it will stay like this unless the story is as/more hectic than arc 7/8.
@@iamanidiotthisacounteratta3002at the end of pride if satela took back subaru's return to death ability because he looked satisfied with his life i guess the same will happen at the end of sloth if
So according to that logic in pride if suburo was satisfied with his death? Or that unknown being at the end just ended it for him? Maybe that being thought what kinda monster he has released on the world as in pride if story suboru destroyed whole kingdom and took everything away from the hero who was every gods favourite.
I feel like a serious lust route would be like a Lust for power or something as in most route's the sin itself is not taken at face value, so a serious lust route where subaru just does whatever to get more and more power would be pretty cool
@@BrightChidawa go to "Archive of our own" then search for "Obey the king". Wait no that is another, the real one is "True nikuyoku if" But recommend reading both
Can someone explains what's going on??? I thought it was an anime??? Is it a book series or a game. I enjoy the anime so i wnat to understand the story fully
The anime is A light novel adaptation. And these routes are written by the author of Re:Zero every year on his birthday(It explains what will happen if subaru made a different choice) If you want to read web Novel you can find it on "Witch Cult translation "(Re :Zero s2 covered upto arc 4 and web novel has completed arc 8 so start from arc 5....)
The world resets, leaving no room for timeline divergence. Because, everytime subaru dies, his soul passes through the od Laguna and sends him back to the world with memories intact. Meanwhile, when normal people die, they get their soul fully cleansed from their memories and sends them either to he reincarnated or just turn into lesser mana energy
In re:zero, the author does a sort of "alternate reality" story from time to time. These are stories where subaru makes different choices and where they led him.
It's super dumb with the numbers. You could achieve a better story telling estimate of 100,000. People can comprehend thousands, not millions. It creates a disconnect with readers if it's in the millions.
Ohohoho, its the worst by far (in terms of anime, a lot worse happens later on) lets just say, its the first time a short interval death loop has happened
Its a joke created by the author on April Fools where Subaru basically becomes a harem king and fcks everyone, and i mean EVERYONE (just not the males) and yes.... That includes Petra too But its already stated by the author that its just a joke and its not canon or part of the If routes
Yea, Tappei said that if Subaru ran away with Rem, his save point would never update so he would actually go back to arc three as soon as he died. Kinda wild tbh, but an interesting thought fr
Subaru died up to 50 times in Arc 6? Didn’t he have like a hellish 10 second loop. I was spoiled on it but haven’t gotten there yet. Something about a shinobi village?
I think Sloth/Rem If Subaru gets different checkpoints, meaning he would likely not be reset back to arc 3. If he did, that would still be interesting though. I’m not fully caught up, so there may be some facts about Return from Death and it’s checkpoints I don’t know about.
You think that sloth path is sad, yet it is infinite arc of him living normal life if he wants, and also A LOT of time to make normal strategy against whale and cult
These routes are alternate versions of Re:Zero which are written by the author of Re:Zero every year on Subaru's birthday(It explains what will happen if subaru made a different choice at any point in The story)...You can either read them on "Witch Cult translations" or can see explanation video of the routes in "Echidnut" yt channel

Unlike pride, sloth has a LOT of regrets. Where the biggest being about leaving everyone to die in his absence. Pride was happy with his life and embraced death with pleasure. Meanwhile sloth might just be grieving about how guilty he feels about leaving his friends to die. So, sloth would reset back to arc 3
Ok should i just take the lust route at face value? And what happened in the one that he said is considered the worst? Hes playing with hand puppets of everyone and that actually worries me
Basically in Arc 6 (or 7 i forgot) Subaru lost his memories, and the new Subaru heard from everyone else that the original Subaru was a great person, which made the new Subaru worship him like a god So he wanted to get his memories back to let the old Subaru take over cause they are in a predicament, but the only way he knows how is to read the other's memories of who Subaru is, and they were in a library where he could read the memories of dead people So the new Subaru went on a killing spree, killing everyone and reading their memories about the old Subaru and he justified that if old Subaru comes back, he will fix everything as he's basically a god in new Subaru's eyes Bro becomes insane and started imagining the people he killed, coming to his side and hang out with him and adviced him on what to do
Yes, but if you compare it with the rest of the broken monsters and characters in the Re Zero world, it doesn't matter, he's still a speck of dust PHYSICALLY for them, But he makes it up with his strategic mind
I wanna get into Rezero. And discover all the parts too. I dont know how the entire story is atructured so I have no idea where to start and where to go from there for the full experience someone please help it would be greatly appreciated thx.
Well you can go in 3 directions. You could watch the anime, read the web novel, or read the light novel. The main story is pretty simple to follow. What he was mentioning by "routes" are alternate timelines written by the author as just fun side projects. The actual main story is one timeline. There are good translations of the webnovel (original release by creator) on a website called witch cult translations.
@@CheezeOfWheel Aight nice. So I guess I'll check out the anime and then the webnovel for the authentic experience? What are the differences bw the web and light novels?
@@antagonisticalex401 The webnovel and light novel are very similar, but with slight changes. The web novel is the one they create by themselves and the light novel is a sort of edited version that is actually published. The web novel is free and you have to pay for the light novel. On top of that, the web novel is fan translated while the light novel has an actual translation team.
@@antagonisticalex401 I recommend watching the anime first. Start from s1, to s2, then wait for s3 to be released this October. After that, you can continue reading starting from Arc 7, which is volume 26 of the light novel. If you caught up with the latest volume of the light novel, then you can continue with the web novel, you can start at a chapter after the corresponding chapter on the lastest volume you read. Re Zero novels are still ongoing at the moment, so you can expect it to be updated every few months or so. The difference between LN (light novel) and WN (web novel) is that the WN is the draft, more advanced, version of the LN, while LN is the official one. WN serves as a basis, or the blueprint of what the author will write on the LN, meaning it is much further down the story than LN. It is essentially the unfinal, scratch, draft version of the story. Due to being a draft, it can be found online and read for free. But don't get me wrong, despite being a draft, it is still a very good read with it sometimes being better than the LN. LN on the other hand, is the official, final, and refined version of the WN. It is the one that is sold through books and officially published via volumes. Because it is licensed, it is for sale and you need real money to buy a physical or e-book version of it. You can still read it through pirated websites though. If you have time, you can read both LN and WN because there are some details found on WN that is cut on LN or vice versa. You can also start reading the LN from volume 1, as the anime cuts parts of the original text. Additionally, you can also read extra side stories such as Re Zero EX LN volumes to immerse yourself in the re zero world building and lore, and explore IF stories WN discussed in this video. Overall, I highly recommend you search the internet for more guides on this series. Re Zero is still one of my top favorite anime/novel throughout my years of watching and reading different series wow. The novel right now is peak fiction and I hope you enjoy this!
@@Shidozu-cu2em BRO COOKED WITH THIS REPLY ✍️✍️✍️🔥🔥🔥. But anywho thanks for the guide boss. This will really help. I think i'll do the following order. Firstly I'll finish the anime seasons that are there. Then I'll read WN and LN in parallel. Sure it will be slower but it will bring way more clarity imo. Then after I'm up to date (gonna take a few months), I'll MAYBE read the parts of ln and wn that the anime adapted just for fun. Maybe. But after that I'll definitely read the extra lore.
It's "if stories " basically what would have happened if subaru made a different choice then original. Like what would have happened if subaru accepted ekidona's contract or what would have happened if he didn’t ask for help in ally in season 1 or subaru run away with rem. These if stories or Routes don’t have any connection to main story.
@@abigalebrawl9956 tappei (author) said that he want to adapt all rezero novels in anime so,there is a chance. I personally think if stories will get adaptation when the main story is fully complete. Tappei said that if he get to choice to adapt one of if stories he would choose greed if(ekidona contract). But i can see sloth if(rem) getting adaptation first to boost the sales.
If I remember how his ability works correctly, him getting reset doesn’t actually change anything as he’s not so much “going back in time”, as he’s “going sideways in time”. Basically when he dies his memories are given to another version of himself in another timeline slightly earlier in their own personal timeline/series of events than the version that died, so anything that happens doesn’t get changed or “reset” by his death and the world continues on without him. It’s just that from his perspective it seems like he’s going back in time.
This is only speculation ad Echidna herself says there’s no way to truly tell if that’s the case or not, and as a result, she insists it’s more productive to assume that he’s reverting time properly. But TL;DR we don’t know for sure and I hope that’s not the case overall
Its confirmed that the world just resets each time Subaru dies as we get confirmation from Arc 7 (The watchtower arc) I won't get into details as to why or how, but the other replies said it better than i can
Basically the Lust route was an actual joke by the author turning Re:Zero into a harem anime where all the royal candidates were in love with Subaru and basically every female character too. I think it's the only unserious "If" story
