FireRed and LeafGreen had a quirk where male characters all speak with blue text, and female characters speak in red text. All the dialogue in the Copycat scene uses red text, so therefore all of the [Trainer Name] lines are actually her impersonation of Red's voice.
Red had a mega Charizard before mega evolution existed and caught 151 out of 150 Pokemon in his first year.when he rides his bike indoors you are the guest . He can command his Pokemon without speaking
@@jettlucashayes8508 the difference between Ash and Red is that while Ash did more over 20 years Red did more impressive things in a much shorter amount of time.
For a guy with a song gotta catch ‘‘em all he doesn’t catch many at all and red is a better trainer as his Pokémon listen unlike charizard for the better part of a season and red knows type match ups and wins battles without using the weak electric Pokémon pickachu to use “electric attack” on ground types face it red is a better trainer
Seeing as Red can command his Pokemon without talking and in the anime, people basically depend on hearing the opposing trainer yell commands to counter, Red would definitely be super strong in the anime and I now understand why he's not in it.
well he is in an anime called pokemon origins and another one pokemon generations both follow game events but red does still talk there i just wish they make an anime were red is in and were he doesnt talk
I miss Pokemon Trainer's Brawl Voice. Sounded more natural then his Ultimate one. On that note I also think it's worth noting that they never refer to Red or Leaf by their names in Smash presumably because they want to have it so they could theoretically be named any name so that players who played FRLG can relate to them more. That or it's a carry over from Brawl which is fair.
If you want to stay as faithful as possible to the games, since you can name the character by the name you want, the character you play is always Pokemon trainer. Red, Leaf, Gold, etc...are all fictional embodiments of either the main character used from a neutral standpoint in other medias or a friend/rival in the case you choose to play the boy or the girl.
That's because Brawl relied on the old tradition of women voicing young boys. Like how Ash is either voiced by Rica Matsumoto or Veronica Taylor. Michele Knotz, the voice of Brawl Red, was originally going to voice Ash after Veronica Taylor left, which is why it somewhat sounds like Ash.
Since i'm spanish, i'm used to see that on HGSS games, i mean, i can clearly remember the pain i felt when in a hard battle i saw the "¡Voy a usar restaurar todo!" or "¡Voy a usar super poción!" Dialogue, but i didn't know english versions of the games didn't use that same thing, i can't understand why that's an exclusive thing in spanish games.
Well they are the same person, just different and less badass(cough cough looking at you Ash *cough cough*) Ash is Red in the Anime, but he's dumb and not a sigma male
I always headcanon'd that the logical reason Red never spoke much ( when he's older ) was the fact he trained in the mountains with no human contact for years. The harsh conditions he put himself under while being removed from society enabled him to have a strong mental bond with not just his own Pokemon, but Pokemon in general so speaking became irrelevant since you can't really have a verbal conversation with Pokemon ( they are animals after all). Once he finally returned to human society, it was apparent he lost his ability to have conversations with human beings, only saying very few words. Luckily, the really good Pokemon Trainers ( and people who are in tune with nature ) who can bond easily with Pokemon can somewhat understand Red's silence because--in a sense--he's a Pokemon himself if you think about what he put himself through. So everything is left to reading his face, body language, looking into his eyes and reading his soul just like a trainer does with their own Pokemon to understand their feelings. That's how I always saw this.
Red Blue and Leaf are so adorable together. Considering Red and Leaf have basically no personality in-game it's remarkable how well they just put the fan personalities on them. Blue fancies himself the leader while Red is like their ace. Leaf on the other hand is just like, "You guys are such dorks."
Even though the male Pokémon trainer in the Smash games is modeled after Red, his voice is supposed to be modeled after Ash from the anime who is his counterpart. The voice is very similar to Ash’s.
I Really love how in Masters despite the fact he can't talk he pushed himself over the limits to say he Accepts green's/Blue's Challenge,And soon after says in his heart I Hope we can win this as a fight...He is a kind hearted trainer..those 3 years he spent on Mt. Silver made people's believe he is a monster or something
@@Theloster it's funny how people said claude fro GTA 2 is the same one in 3. If so the Game has to take place both after San andreas, liberty city story and before GTA advance
@@dalaxdercrisper957 I really don’t like seeing/hearing people swear from Nintendo. Mainly because it’s kid friendly. Did other stuff like this happen in this? Please tell me
my head canon : Red talks in gen 1 and stop talking much in gen 2 onward. And gen 2 take place 3 years after gen 1 so probably Red went through puberty and decided to talk less
My interpretation of red is that he did talk during his adventure in kanto. However sometime after team rocket disbanded and with the adventure of johto games red doesnt talk not because he cant or doesnt anymore but he sees a trainer approach him that reminds him of himself has a battle and afterwards reflects on that battle without saying anything the entire time. Any modern interpretation of the character like in alola or lets go I feel isnt what the originals intended to bring to the character. That's how I see it even if it's not what the mainstream character became. Then again red is supposed to be your character so I think lots of people can interpret his character in all sorts of different ways.
There's now one more instance in Pokémon Masters EX of Red talking.... when Ash showed up and took care of the single Pokémon tournament for new trainers who just arrived on Pasio. Leaf could tell that after the tournament that Red is very interested in facing Ash, to the point that he breaks his silence once more with these words.... "I'll be waiting."
I always saw Red as medically mute. He communicates through signed language. Now that we know he can talk, I look at it as something that’s painful for him to do.
The only reason red doesn't speak most of the time is that he feels like he doesn't need to;like, why would you bother to say words when Everyone can understand you just fine and do everything normally?
2:02 The narration of items could just be him thinking, not speaking. Red is supposed to be “you” in the game so the text is just a description of what he experiences. He’s supposed to be traveling alone, so it’s not likely he’s verbally saying those things to somebody who isn’t actually standing next to him.
@@robertlupa8273 Well Sapphire IS May in the Anime, but she isn't, Sapphire is a fucking tarzan, while May is a crybaby, it's maybe because how they were both swapped, May took brendan's place and brendan took mays, that's why they have different personalities
Anime & Manga: "Loud And Proud!" In Games: "A Man Of Very Few Words." Got It! Also, Even I Was Surprised When He Spoke In Pokemon Masters EX But Not Really In Super Smash Bros Brawl.
Same here. I had a nearly same reaction as Flint "👀", but i didnt cared much for Super smash bros since super smash bros is a non-official world where the events didnt happen in anyone's Lore
Huh, that dialoge with the copycat is really unique, and completly canon! I guess he is not mute, he's just either silent or most likely the typical protagonist that even if they don't seem to talk, people respond them as if they did, like Frisk and Kris from Undertale and Deltarune. And I say most likely, because he actually talks normal when he does, he doesn't seem timid or anything.
I don't know why even if there are many of his events in which he talks, people believe as if he doesn't even say anything. To make things clear, JRPG characters are created in a way that they don't usually express their emotions to let the players feel and express them by themselves.
Except, Red is canonically silent type, from Blue's sarcastically called him chatty gossip from FRLG to a sailor who called him "strong silent type" Not only that, other protagonists who become your rival games like post RSE are showing those player characters could talk and there's semi-canon Pokemon Masters who make every protagonists talkative except Red, even his "female counterpart" aka Leaf to be able to talk.
A part of me likes to imagine that Red is just super awkward and doesn't know how to talk to people. He's just fine in battles, but the cool guy persona is completely wrong. Which also means that the first time he said that "Words are unnecessary." thing was as a joke between him and Blue, and he said it as a panic option Blue roasted him for as soon as he found out.
2:02 It is the first time I realised that the 4 boys walking on the railroads, from the musik video "Gotcha!", refers to that dialogue of Red with the tv. I'm in tears man.
@ me río o que ? Enserio piensas que con colocar ñ eres gracioso , pues valla humor de mierda tienes , y no no soy de habla inglesa, solo quería colocar un comentario normal en inglés
I honestly thought leaf wasnt even a canon character tbh lol Eh pokemon is full of multiverse nonsense anyway so for all i know she's just an alternate universe version of red like ash
@@immasword Green is a pokegirl actually, she just didn't appear in the anime, there are 3 multiverses, Manga(Brutal), Games(Manga's story just child friendly) ,Anime(EVEN MORE CHILD FRIENDLY) Green only exists in 2, in the Anime we don't know anything, honestly if we did, Serena would have been mad and would have taken the shotgun to kill green so she doesn't steal Ash 🤣 maybe she will appear in journeys, and people will make some, *you know what I mean* with Ash, it would be terrifying, So it's best they don't include her in the Anime
@@alochuz1962 do you not know how much stuff doesn't work in this game because of his size already? Pikachu would just have a basic silly advantage of basically being invincible the entire time. Do you get it now?
red is so cool and awesome he makes me grin like an idiot I love characters who don't have to talk to get their point across, especially when nobody comments negatively on the fact that they're mostly non-verbal. it just makes me really happy. red was actually the first human character to ever appear in my old pokemon fanfiction I wrote when I was little... he never spoke once (and his charizard was really clingy!) because I originally found dialogue really difficult in comics and writing. him already being silent was an absolute lifesaver, it meant that even less of the characters spoke so I could show-not-tell my way through the story more easily - alongside half of the cast also being silent... red will always be one of my favourite characters in any video game. the unlimited awesomeness that constantly emanates from him is almost unparalleled. love that guy
He just learned to consentrate more and at this point, his pokémon already know what to do without red having to say anything,so there is really no point in talking since his pokémon are the only Company he has on that mountain
Red: "Words are unnecessary." Copycat: "Words are unnecessary." Red: "Hey, I just said that." Copycat: "Hey, I just said that." Red: "STOP MIMICKING ME!" Copycat: "Stahp mimyahken meh! Here's a TM31, crybaby."
I choose to believe that Red spoke plenty in Gen 1 and stopped talking because his entire original journey was spent travelling with a critical mocking asshole, because if I put up with Blue for more than half an hour I'd probably stop talking too
*Pokemon Masters EX* He also said one line in the 2nd Ash Ketchum event (The Single Touroment) *btw Ash had make his official game debult. Avalable on Pokemon Masters EX (keep in mind he's in the Master Synce Pair section and there are the hardest ones to summon and they are pretty Ultra Rare if you ask me)* He said this Red: ... I'll be waiting (for you,Ash Ketchum)
red talks alot but stopped talking during gen 2 and here's my theory for that red's mouth frozed shut so he couldnt open his lips or his social skills fell bc he was on a mountain alone for 3 years and why does the red/pokemon trainer from smash brothers sound like ash ketchum but then in ultimate smash brothers he sounds normal
