Beagles have a reputation for being noisy dogs, but is that really accurate? Watch as we try to capture on video every bark that Oliver makes in a single day!
What a dream life Oliver has. This is what people work all their lives to do in retirement. Stop and sniff the flowers (among other things), relish in a snooze, and looking forward to a good meal.
Aww, this is such a sweet comment. Thank you, Anna! I feel lucky to be Oliver's Dad--he is cuddly and affectionate and easy to get along with, and he helps me to get out of the house and go get some exercise!
@@dottiegoldstein4745 Thank you, Dottie! Could you explain what you mean by Oliver's comments disappearing? I'm a bit confused. Or does someone else know what Dottie is referring to?
@@OlivertheBeagle I suspect he did that at first out of concern they not be there in the morning. But now, after a few years of them always being there, he is no longer concerned.
@@OlivertheBeagle Editing time must have been longer, but hopefully the longer runtime gets more views/$ so you do similar in future. More Oliver = better world 🌎
I like what Oliver said at the end: “Human is much noisier than Beagle.” !! Oliver is actually pretty quiet, isn’t he? Seems to have a thoughtful personality. Has he been back at all to the place where the cat attacked him? Here is a 💙 for Oliver.
Thank you! I'm glad you appreciated that ending! And yes, he has been back to the park where the cat attacked him, and he doesn't seem to be afraid at all. I guess he thinks that if there's a cat around, he will smell it!
Yes, you can really feel that first bark coming! First, he gives a little growl as he works up into making his first bark of the day. Then, he stiffens and really launches into that first bark!
Sometimes I forget Sir Oliver is a Beagle. He has such an adorable "person"ality, all the characteristics of a perfect friend. Hugs to you, Oliver! Wishing you an endless supply of love, warm beds, and roast chicken. 💕
I recently lost my Beagle Bella to cancer, and have cried for months. She was God’s precious gift to me, And seeing Oliver has really helped to heal my heart. Thank you for the videos
You know what? I am a retired L E O here in Germany. For month I think about to get me a four paw buddy. Truely, if it comes to this decision, it will gonna be a Beagle and he will be namend Oliver. Looking your Videos make me more and more convinced to go this way.
I allways forget you speak German, sorry! My next comments will be in German. Danke für deine Videos, sie werden mir ganz sicher meine Entscheidung einfacher machen. Es macht Spaß euch beiden zusehen zu dürfen. Danke dafür!
My beagle stops throws her head back and howls with excitement on the way to her food dish, and she’s 11. Howls more the older she gets but she’s so loveable you just deal with it!
Oliver, your so handsome and adorable.Nothing like a beagles nose to sniff out treats. He has reasons for his 20 barks,he is expressing himself. What a good boy. Love watching you🐕💙
Our beagle wasn't a barker either. I think if they are brought up as house dogs, there's not much of a need to bark. In contrast, when they are brought up as hunting dogs they bark all the time. But Oliver is such a good boy to live with. He's a cutie pie for sure. ❤❤❤❤🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️
Plot Twist: Oliver knows u r filming this.. so he is keeping barks for only absolute need 😊 Oliver is such a joy to have... Thanks again for sharing e joys he brings to u.
I never had a Beagle myself but have known many owned by family. When I think of them I remember them barking, eating or sleeping. Btw, I think of all the dog breeds that Beagle pups are the very cutest.
Wow! What a treat to spend a full day with Oliver! Thank you so much for the amazing video. So great to see all of Oliver's habits, meal times, outings & games! Loved it 🤗 Oliver, you are the best!
Love how Oliver barks to be chased and then as soon as the other dogs get closer he loses interest and starts finding things to sniff. Very on brand for a hound dog!
Sometimes a Beagle has a lot to say; sometimes he doesn't. Beagles are social dogs but not noisy dogs. Rufus always talked to his favorite people....when the mailman, the meter reader, the milk man (yes we had one) and the grocery delivery dude came on the same day WOW he had a lot to say. Just want to add that we enjoy seeing both of Oliver's dads in the videos.
Oliver doesn't look like an ordinary beagle. No barking, no high activity, not going nuts, doesn't pull the leash, is on his own , doesn't look like having any separation anxiety from you. I wonder if he is just well tempered dog or a well educated one?
Mine is just like that. Except for the separation anxiety. But he doesn’t bark, no high activity, well tempered. He behaves so good im situations where other dogs don’t, Just wish the separation anxiety wasnt a thing.
Oliver is given an enormous amount of attention, and both children and pets respond primarily to attention. Attention is security, attention is calmness, attention makes personality and intelligence.
He is so so adorable! I had my sweet boy for 14 years and sadly he passed away 6 months ago. I was totally devastated and miss those velvet ears and sweet face of his. I found this on you tube and have been watching them. He reminds me so much of my boy. Beagles are the sweetest and best companion. I want to get another at some point when I think its the best time. Oliver your much loved from you hoomens and viewers😁
This is the best way to start an early morning. Oliver has such a soothing effect on me. He is the King of sleep-lol. This Beagle has the best life a dog could ask for! Dad, you are a wonderful caring fur baby parent. God bless you all--hugs to Oliver Nancy
We adopted a beagle that didn't bark. He made a woof, every once and a while. My 10-year-old son taught him the beagle bark and howl. He had a big voice after that. But may I say, what a lovely view you have on your walks.
oliver you're a lovely kid...your bark is so nice to ears... you're a superb buddy...and your dad is a real lucky person to get a gift like you...god bless you always oliver and your loving & caring dad...
I have just discovered your channel and it was so relaxing & entertaining to watch. I am looking forward to watching more of your videos. You and Oliver are a delightful pair. 💓
What a great idea for a video!! Oliver is certainly more active late in the day/evening-not a morning/afternoon beagle. He is so cute always and has such great dads!😇💕from Jean
He never seems to want to be cuddled. Happy to have his humans serve him his food and play a bit and that's it. The most cat-like dog I've ever seen...
My Zaika will bark maybe once a month. I like to joke that if it wasn't for the dog hair I haveto vacuum from her shedding, no one would ever know she exists. She won't bark at anything, not even the mail-man. She has zero separation anxiety so she couldn't care less if I'm not around all the time. Its "Fill by bowl with kibble then lets go the park where I will poop and make you clean it up". Whenever she does bark she always gives me this look like: "Did I just do that??"
The "Peanuts" famous beagle, Snoopy, imagines himself to speak, but acts out his feelings, or uses monosyllabic 🗨 ''bleah', laughter, moans, growls, yelps, sobs, short woofs... Snoopy's very articulate thoughts are in cartoon "thought balloons"💬 ... Maybe Oliver is a Snoopy fan? Maybe Oliver will give us a "thought bubble" 💭🗯 about it some day? Hehehe
Greetings from finland! I like this long video 🐕 I think Oliver barks thirteen times during the day 🐶 !! It's always nice to see and hear from you Oliver 🍀
I lost my dog Charly last Tuesday and I’m having a hard time grieving him. Watching your videos of Oliver reminds me of him so much behavior wise. So, thank you for your videos. He was a tricolored beagle with a personality. 🥺🤣 Thanks for sharing your world with us.
My grandma's last dog was a rescue Shih Tzu who almost never barked. Even when he probably should have, like when we accidentally left him outside for several minutes in winter, or when my grandma accidentally left him in a basement storage area in pitch dark 😅 I can only think of a handful of times that he ever barked, when he was going senile.
I sometimes use that beautiful opening scene, Oliver crawling out of his bed, making a big melodious yawn, just to improve my mood. Btw thank you for not kissing him in his nose - that's a terrible thing for dogs, they hate it, even though they would not let it show...
I've had a full sized stuffed beagle plushie since I was 7 years old, it has been through a lot with me and ever since then I've loved dogs. So seeing Oliver gives me a lot of comfort and joy. 💛 Here once again to watch the bestest boy! 🥺
Have you tried to change his schedule a little. It might take a few weeks to get used to it but normally that works just not to fast and that's the trick.
You know my bullmastiffs, especially (from what my dad told me) the first bullmastiff we ever had, used to move their mouths as if attempting to form words. And according to a book on bullmastiffs the original breeders added bloodhound into the lineage to improve the nose so maybe it’s also a hound thing. I never thought I would hear of another dog who looked like he was attempting to talk.
The cutest and most adorable Beagle always listens carefully and visibly 'thinks' a lot, understanding basically everything. Oliver has at least 2 ways 'talking' to you. Most of what he wants, you can 'read' in his eyes. ... If you don't react, je can still use his 'voice' - more or less to remind you of something. ... But his beautiful way of barking is always friendly and joyful, because he never has a reason to be upset or mad, having the best and incredibly caring daddy. ... I had almost the same experiences with 'my' 2 Beagles in Florida - and with my own Cocker Spaniels in the past - what matters the most, is the relationship between each other. You are a great team, really caring for each other, why barking is 'not necessary' that often, except for 'talking' to each other in a friendly way. I wish you a great weekend together - beautiful video, great 'job', greetings from Germany. 😉🙋♀️
What a wonderful comment! You are right that Oliver thinks carefully about how to communicate with us best, and he uses barks only sparingly. He never just barks for no reason at all, he's always making a point about how happy he is or asking us for something. He's a smart boy!
