Video idea: "What your wheel wear pattern says about your skating" I wonder this every wheel rotation. I don't think anybody has done it yet. You would need a bucket of used wheels to pick visual examples from, would be the only hard part.

That could be interesting!! I agree with that quote for sure :)

Agreed this would be an excellent topic to cover. Many skaters question why they have a flat wear pattern on their wheels. Generally, it's because they are not using their outer edge enough during their double push...rather, they are over using the edge slightly beyond the center portion which results in a flat, over worn area. I have this issue as well and it's because of improper frame fitment. Specifically, I'm unable to get the boot far enough off center on the frame to permit my weight to fall to the outside. As a result, I can only use the outer edge through brute force. Custom skates are in my future, but as I have found, it can be very difficult to obtain custom skates absent flying to Germany for fitment and molding (at least for Powerslide boots). Unfortunately, because RB does not have the navicular bone cutout in their boots, I have found them to be too painful for weekly marathon outings. The latter is the main reason why I use Powerslide boots exclusively. Good luck.

in my opinion a 3x110-1x100 Hi-Low setup is the best compromise for the average skater. Stable, comfortable and fast.

I have a 3x100 1x84mm. They are incredibly stable and you can make tight turns. Great for urban scating

A few weeks ago I bought an e2 inline. Three wheel 110 mm. First day riding I slipped backwards and stiff arm causing my shoulder to dislocate. I wish I watched something like this B4 there were other videos was telling me that the three-wheel would be easier to learn on

Thanks for clarifying. I was on 5 wheels when I hung up my skates and was curious in the sport’s evolution to 4 and 3 wheels. Could you do something regarding boots? We had either long track or short track ice boots back in those days. Thanks.

so 5 wheels I assume is just dead? Keeping the wheels close gives a caterpillar-tread effect so the wheels would ride very well for their size. and the longer frame might give a frontseat/backseat, as they say in skiing.

Hi Victor, love your content. If you have a marathon in the rain and you have rain wheels, what would you choose 3 x 125’s or 4 x 110? Any chance you can do a technical video on arm movements for sprinting?

Interesting that you said you use a 4x110 set up to mimic ice, but I feel like when I see videos of most ice speed skaters cross-training on inlines they are usually on a 3x125 set-up

Can you report on the market/manufacturers and builders for custom boots? Include the differences between the US, EU etc.

This video is just in time. I`m really interested in whch setup to ride: 4x110 or long 3x110 (based on 3x125 frame). Both setups have same height. 3x110 is a bit shorter (12,6 inch) and one wheel lighter. Curious about double push maneuverability on each setup.

The 3x125 will by higher by around 7mm.

I do not have data but I am convinced there must be a relation between frame size and ones length. Someone 1m60 and someone 2m wearing the same frame size must have a different experience. However I have never seen an chart

In my opinion is not about the size because maybe a little guy have more flexibility than a taller one. For me the main reason is the specific strength and technique let me explain if you can’t beat your personal 4x110 time using 3x125 keep using 4x110

My son is 7 years old and doing online skate . For indoor cross over , higher mount or lower mount is best ? Please advise
@lankhof3137
@lankhof3137 3 месяца назад
Kids always lower mount, they need stability for self-confidence. If it doesn't feel stable, they stop inline skating.

Before watching it just from the title, Im gonna say less wheels, means less friction so Faster.
