Mark Lee's rap is like calm before a storm...that much power he holds.

Its like 'make way, this guy's gonna spite fire'

they honestly give us a split second warning to prepare ourselves and i thank them for that

it's like a pause for him to get some breath and get nctzens ready for what is about to come LOL

sm can remove all their instrumentals and let just mark rap and it will still have impact. That's how much power mark holds

MARK LEE IS AN ACE AND IS ONE OF THE BEST RAPPERS IN THE INDUSTRY!

I think a big reason for them to put the pause in music is to give Mark a place to breathe. It also helps to stop and start the music while he is rapping as a subtle indicator to the listener that a change of flow occurred in his rap flow (ie: "chewing gum" where the first part of his rap is really simple and upbeat, break in music, then when the music starts again the rap flow changes and he starts spitting rhymes). They also add a break in music in the beginning of some of his raps because he does a sort of repetitive sound rap that sounds like beats. Like taking the first syllable of a word and repeating it 3 times before finishing the word, but when he starts off raps like this he typically does it in a lower tone of voice which might conflict with the bass notes of the song and make it hard to hear. Same as the above when he changes tone in the middle of his rap I've noticed, but the change in tone in the middle of a rap typically also comes with a change of flow. Idk this is just what I'm noticing as a pattern from this compilation. Definitely helps to bring out his rapping though.
