Happy new years everyone! Last upload of 2022, well... in my timezone that is. Let me know what warframe you want to see me cover next, the most request frame will get a video
@@NeuralSensei like the other guy said, it's more like the animations of her shooting two people on her left and right or putting one arm under the other to shoot behind her, or over her head to shoot at the other side and some other interesting ones that each have more of a casual trick shot kind of feel, where not we lost that casualness in favor of a highly lethal focus, which is still cool, just a very different vibe from the mesa a lot of people lived
they should make an augment that gives you the complete aimbot with a dmg reduction so people don't cry about her being op but looking at the game now mesa could get away with having the aimbot again, there's a lot of warframes that got reworked since the nerf and they're all up to speed
I kinda miss those cheese setups. I can remember going into community chat to assemble a banshee built around her sonic ground thing, a trinity built around her energy siphon, a fast nova with negative power strength to speed up enemies, and a frosty snow globe. Once assembled, we could run a T3 Defense mission for over an hour, just collecting tons of prime parts. You’d never even see an enemy if banshees range was just right.
That was the time I played the most with all hilarious, broken builds. Mirage with simular when it was op was easiest afk farm. Banshee atrax with that crazy melee slide damage mod that got nerfed into oblivion, god those were the days.
@@ember_falls replaced by Molt Augmented, Blind Rage, 🏳️⚧️isent Fortitude, Maderai sling str. But yeah you still can have a buffing set up, what’s stopping you~?
She also gets a counter-buff to her no melee passive. Instead just run any Furax (fist weapon) with the Amalgum furax mod and her regulators benefit from the +45% firerate passive to secondary weapons. Goes great with Mesa's normal secondary weapons passives too.
I ran her a long time ago...I'd do this just to see how powerful I can be with her now. When I started I wanted her but with the Alad V thing...I just made her my first prime.
@@beaawsome2211 its easier o get her prime than normal version of it tbh, one of this types of frames when its easier to get the prime one (perhaps same thing will happen with wisp gauss and grendel prime cuz its kinda horrible to farm them)
Ihavent got the prime as its vaulted by the time of writing this. But I get lucky with the normal version, only need to beat alad v 3 times for each parts.
Mesa prime was the first prime warframe i ever grinded for, and she forever holds a spot in my heart with all the time ive put into her. Still my most used frame after 4 years. No frame could replace what mesa was for me
I lucked out when I started playing, the moment I wanted to have Mesa her prime was just released. So I farmed the prime first and last year farmed normal mesa for subsuming her.
10:27 a change that I would made is turning her 1 into an ability that you can togle on and off were every time that the power stored reached 100%, it would spend energy and automatically shoot the empowered shot and start storing power for another one, making her gameplay more fluid, even synergising with Peacemaker
My favourite tibit about Mesa is that her Regulators have an infinite magazine meaning unlike basically every gun, fire rate boosts aren't counter balanced with more reloading
I ended up getting her in just 3 runs after i lied to the 3 other people in the squad that i had a key, luckily i was the last person to use the key so i was like "well we got all her parts haha, we dont need to use mine, bye" After that i used her to wipe the floor with the star chart and she remained my most used frame for 3 years, only to now be blown out of the water with my new main, Mirage Prime, being used more than 3x as much as her, who will likely never be dethrowned as my most used frame.
as and U8 player, I love this "series" showing up the history of warframes , Mesa will always have a place in me no because she was OP, but having good times with the boys that no longer play warframe. Would be cool if you do this video format with Trinity, Chroma, Ember (DE'd frames that got nerfed to almost death)
She isn't overpowered anymore though. She certainly isn't the highest damage or best area clear late game. I have a build that is really strong dont get me wrong, but it took me A LOT of effort to get it equivalent to lets say khora's whipclaw, excals exalted blade, or valkyrs talons. I'd say mesa is a great frame for those going through star chart and shifting into sp. Great video!
Might I add to the blindfold thing, Regulator Prime has no built in hammer like a normal revolver, instead Mesa prime strikes the gun with her thumb, meaning her fingers can go THAT FAST
So wait If Mesa blindfold herself just to flex and to have some sort of fun for herself Does that mean players that remove her 4 have the same mindset as her?
Well, her first ability with the augment and the Cedo, you can nuke and entire room with two shots... While being able to move and kill ennemies faster than with her regulators ;) You can do the same with the trumna, charging the secondary "shot".
I thing DE just gave up on the 1 as it has no complexity whatsoever, the rest of her kit is very plain but also really effective. Maxing out the cc and DR abilities is dead easy and a single button cast. She falls into the so OP she is boring category. Alongside octavia and pre nerf wukong. And if you value tanking maybe Revenant.
Mesa, the frame that with the rework to armor stripping is probably the best solo dps… ever. Hyldrin’s Pillage or Nekros’ Terrify means with only one or two casts the enemies defense is completely neutered for her regulators to slaughter.
I'd be interested in seeing something on Zephyr. I was told that she used to be bad when I initially played years ago, but when I came back, I was told that she was extremely strong. What changed exactly?
Old Zephyr was clunky to control, had 2 abilities that basically did nothing, a CC ability that cost too much and actively made enemies harder to hit (especially with melee if we're talking about the era where only melee scaled hard enough for high-end killing), and a survival ability so she could at least stay alive while bumping into walls and doing nothing of value. She got some buffs, but it's mostly the state of the game that changed. Gun power creep got to the point that they can be your main source of damage without any frame buffs for 90% of what you'll spend your time doing. Mostly relevant for AoE guns, which largely used to suck but are now the default way to play the game. This makes DPS frames less relevant unless they bring something really special to the table and completely kicked CC out of the meta. Hard CC spam became a much less reliable means of survival for various reasons I won't get into here. The health and energy economy sort of stopped existing, so traditional support frames are a lot less relevant. New tilesets are bigger and the open areas exist, which makes her a lot less clunky. Her buffs were pretty good. She got a passive damage buff, an enemy-grouping CC ability that's dirt cheap and her chaotic CC now helps transfer damage to affected enemies, but this is a lot less important than her ability to carry your silly boom gun of choice and not die. Being immune to ranged attacks and in the air is some of the most reliable survival, doesn't matter what level the mission is. She's also pretty fast, which is nice.
Honestly my only real problem with Mesa is the fact that if your host is lagging AT ALL then Peacemaker is nearly impossible to use. And that's mostly a Warframe problem instead of a Mesa problem.
To that start that 'having a gunslinger class is weird'... Well... She's a Cowboy, essentially. (Or I guess a Cowgirl, though that word has other connotations). Meanwhile, we have a Samurai, a Ninja, a Dragon, a Berserker, a Monk, a British Gentleman Thief, a Pirate, a Hooded Archer, and a Roman Centurion as some "weirdly specific archetypes filled by frames"
Man, mesa is allowed to be consistently op and broken, while us dragon boi mains are left in the gutter.. all I want is for my four to allow me to fly around and rain elemental hellfire…
You say this in the presence of us Caliban mains... Lol. (Fr tho Sevagoth was my first main long before he got op, with Chroma being my second, of course only getting into him literally like 2 months after he was apparently "ruined".)
call me crazy, but Mesa and Saryn are THE prime reasons for why CC has been nerfed into the ground. Mesa has ALL OF THIS, requiring DE to add shit like overguard. All of this get absolutely abused to hell and back even more with CC powers. So obviously instead of DE making it so you need CC to effectively take down these tanky mfs, they just nerf CC so that tanks are no longer affected by it AT ALL >_>
Fam most people get a lot of frame primes before getting the normal ones. In fact if they don't care that much about mastery rank or don't care about their helminith ability most people don't even bother going for the normal frames at all as long as their primes are out. Numerous frames their primes are waaaay easier to get than the normal ones...and Mesa is espcially one of them. Normal Mesa is notoriously hard to farm.
The reason Mesa is busted is cause the community manager mains her. Its a trend you see through out the game. When the devs main a frame that frame gets special treatment. This was seen back in the day with things. Like their augments fitting in the exilus slot or an entire rebuilt relay. Being ember themed cause a dev mains her.
This is controversial, but I kinda... hate her for all the things stated in this video. We complain about Wukong AoE spam now, but she's even easier to play and more effective than him. The only thing that saves her from being as problematic as him is that she's a lot harder to get for a new player. And even then, this redeeming factor dissappears when you start matchmaking with high mastery players (yes, mastery-based matchmaking is a thing, it was added back in U9). And I feel like she was the reason why the game went in this "hundreds of enemies on screen, AoE is a requirement" direction that we are now dealing with the consequences of. I think the only reason DE hasn't nerfed her is that it would cause an outrage and mass exodus among the long-term playerbase, which would in turn make DE lose revenue. Also, this is more of a personal aesthetic preference, but I think she just doesn't look like a warframe. She looks like a person in futuristic clothing roleplaying as a cowboy, instead of a human transformed into a mindless killing drone by bioengineering. Seriously, blindfold? On something that doesn't even have eyes? Because it got bored? Since when do warframes (excluding Umbra) are capable of getting bored and making conscious decisions? I know that back in the day the consensus was that warframes were exoskeletons, but even then this doesn't really make sense.
All the bullshit relating to Mesa's 4 reminds me of the Wrangler in tf2... If I had a nickel for every game I play where a character has an option to gain multiple buffs and be incredibly overpowered just by pressing a number key on their keyboard I'd have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot but its weird that it happened twice.
I've been meaning Mesa for years. I don't understand Mesa down players, shes biggity busted. If I don't get top damage numbers in the lobby, I take that as a personal insult.
How long is it going to take DE to nerf S-Penta Mag bomb slaps, meanwhile they’re too focused on nerfing or slightly buffing literally everything else.
One thing I think you forget to mention is, the "3 damage bonuses" she gets from her 4, and the one she gets from her 2, are all additive base damage mods, which means they're pretty garbage in total, because neither of those buffs are multiplicative, and you're basically just getting like 4 hornet strikes, meaning diminishing returns
The main bonus from her 4 is multiplicative with strength so you drop hornet strike as you probably know , the other two are in fact multiplicative with the main bonus and any other mod her 2 though yeah is piss poor dmg wise but the cc is worth it , her 1 though is spicy on right DoT / niche setups old one was busted with old gas
Mesa ever since her release has been my main girl. Still remember when she first came out and you could look at the floor obliterating everything around you 😂😂. However the aiming mechanic for Mesa was actually a buff since before you’d hit someone half way across the room and not the level 100 butcher about to one shot you cause it’s melee damage which her 3 doesn’t protect against so aiming in PM fixed that 😁❤️
Ah, Mesa. The first frame I ever obtained after my starting one (friend of mine at the time just told me to look at the warframes in the shop, tell me what I liked the look of, and I chose her on a whim, and he gave me the extra plat I needed to buy her), she's always had a special place in my heart - and you know I grinded for the prime version day 1 and got most of the cosmetics for her specifically. I haven't played Warframe at all for... god knows how many years, when was that update that added a new Excal skin that had a unique animation involving him smoking a pipe? But it makes me happy (in a kind of twisted way) to see that my gunslinging gal is still hella powerful.
Just forged Mesa, and I have Mesa Prime on foundry till tomorrow, and stumbled upon this sweet piece of art people call video. Now I'm motivated as hell to build her ❤
I started playing warframe again around the time her Prime dropped, so I was able to get her as my first prime lol, I didn't even like her and just stuck with my Mag
Been my most used ever since a friend gifted me her years before her prime was a thing. Used her so much it took like a year or two of me using her prime for that version to be my most used. Always had a love for Gunslingers as a whole, I'm a simple man so she was destined to be my favorite.
Mesa is BY FAR one of my most desired Frames, she's so cool and I love the Gunslinger type characters. Unfortunately, I have horrible luck with drops, and only getting to hunt down Mutie Alad once every Blue Moon when an Coordinate is available sucks. Either way though, she's a really cool Frame and I cannot wait to get her Prime.
will there be wideo about octavia incident where one warframe is so versitale and strong but basicly is mostly forgoten becaus its for some players consider her "broken/boring" ?
It sounds like Mesa was made specifically to shake up the meta and pave the way for a much faster game. No more squads, now solo players can be one man armies
Mesa's Waltz isn't even required for a mobile playstyle, you can jump, hit regulators in the air and blast the room, rinse and repeat until everything dies. She's such a dirty, dirty frame in all my favorite ways.
Ash and Mesa were the definitive 4 to win. Funny you didnt mention Ash, thankfully that Tactical Potato clip solved that. Ash was notorious for his 4 killing things in other rooms lol.
Mesa was the frame I saw before I started playing and she became my end goal. I’m super into the western/mercenary aesthetic and she fit that perfectly. 5 years later and she’s still my favorite and the only prime access I’ve ever fully bought. She got my first umbral forma, she was my lich hunter (pre damage attenuation) she has the most playtime. Idk if anything will surpass the feeling when I fully farmed her base frame.
You mentioned her regulators only had one downside, there's actually two more. They don't headshot and they can't hit weakpoints, so enemies that have weakspot requirements cause her some issues. She can also roll during her Peacemaker, if my memory serves correctly. It's been a bit since last time I've played.
They CAN headshot, and are insane when they do, but you have to be in a position where the ray cast from your position to the center of the enemy passes through their head, which means at a significantly higher vantage point.
@@excaliburner9413 Does that also mean they can hit weakpoints as well? Sounds pretty impractical to rely on for any consistency, but I bet it's extremely satisfying when it does happen.
They need to bring back Mesa's 4th ability's 360° shooting for the sheer flavor. The fact that Brennan said that Mesa's helmet is actually blindfolded because Mesa enjoys a challenge is just *_too cool to pass up._*
To this day Mesa is the only prime access I ever purchased, Before the prime, base Mesa was my fav frame so i was unbelievably hyped seeing her prime access pop up years ago. No regrets, was 100% the $150 i spent just so i can declare my love for this frame with the glyph. Still rocking the Mesa Prime profile icon in game to this day too.
Use nourish, prime glaive with mark of the beast, combat dicipline (with arcane avenger) an adarza kavat with reinforced bond, build your regulators with corrosive and bam, nothing survives. She is THIS good~
Things only appear as a rule until the devs smash everything with a new update. There once was a time I thought they has a plan how to balance weapons when they aligned the mastery rank requirements and weapon dps many years ago. But then voidrig and incarnon T5 happened. Also all the aoe released since tonkor and only now they fixed the infinite ammo forever situation.
Liked the video but its also worth mentioning there are other builds mesa can utilize that far outscale regulators. As you mentioned regulators don't have the best end game scaling. What does have good scaling however is staggering shield + xata subsume making mesa able to do millions of damage with slash procs that scales to lvl 9999 mobs in endurance. This takes the cake imo. Yeah regulators are cool but nowadays many frames can nuke tiles. Most frames dont have good endless scaling options like mesa does.
would be interesting to see a doco style video about nova, considering she was put into the game with design input from players iirc? and also her very abnormal prime release timing
Mesa was one of the first frames I ever got and I really like playing her but I’ve realized recently that her first abilities are just honestly really boring and her design feels unfinished her first three abilities. Just press the button and do something it’s the most boring design ever she’s really only fun because of her fourth ability and that’s it.
Uhmm.. That's just flat out wrong..! Mirage, Zephyr, Mag, Saryn and many frames were already out, when Mesa came. All of these are higher damage frames, than her. Mesa's regulators are mediocre at best, and they cant scale even to level cap without other sources buffing them more.. Like Helminth, or Vigilante set. Mesa has NEVER been the strongest Warframe in the game.. Surely not today, and not when she was released.. In fact her Regulators are so bad, most of my Mesa builds have Helminthed them away for example for whatever Marked for Death Ballistic Bullseye builds etc... Her own Helminth ability is top tier tho.
Man this is just a hate video xD For some reason you hate mesa and you bring up all these reasons but in reality you are demonstrating vs enemy lvl 30 and 110. Mesa is the most solid and perfectly balanced warframe until you reach higher lvl in SP, then she becomes literally useless. If anything, DE should buff her 4 or increase her surviving ability in 200+ lvl missions. Trust me, go to simulacrum or a long SP mission then use her 4th ability with any buffs and build you like and you will take around 20-30 seconds to kill a single enemy. Obviously you will be killed in 3 seconds standing still so you wont kill anything, and thats my point...
