How METAL is METALIZM | BABYMETAL - METALIZM | Reaction 

It may well be my favorite off the album, it hit me hard the first time I heard it and that hasn't really changed since. One of the things I like most about it is actually what Su-metal does with her vocals in the verses, which Grington300 referenced in his comment as well. That's worth paying attention to, which is true for other songs on the album (and on The First Take) as well, she's stepped up her game again.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 Metalizm was premiered in the two-day shows on April 1/2 and I witnessed the both at the venue in Yokohama😍. This MV is from Day-2 when Momoko appeared as the 3rd official member, Momometal, for the first time. Western (American) Kami Band did a great job in those shows and their actual plays were much better and heavier than the studio sound in this MV. In an interview, Su referred to this song with Arabic flavor as "a new drawer of BABYMETAL" [source : magazine PMC vol. 27, page 41]. I viewed this choreo on stage by Su, Moa and Momometal as mixture of seriousness, playfulness, comicalness, therefore amazingness on top of Su's fantastic vocals and intricate guitar phrases and hefty drumming by West Kamis. The new drawer is a tribute to New BABYMETAL. [FYI: You may have noticed the repetitive phrase "Zumu Zumu". It is interesting, because it reminds me of another phrase with tonal similarity "Muzu Muzu". When you feel itchy or tickling or a kind of slight frustration, Japanese people express it using this phrase "Muzu Muzu".]

I saw this performance live at Clear Night and they absolutely crushed it. Such a spectacular performance. While I was watching, I thought "This is going to look amazing in a music video", and it sure does.

Nice reaction. Fun tune. It stands out on the album because of how different it is from the rest of the album. Listening to the album as a whole the mind and ear needed the song the breaks up the rest of the songs. As such it works very well. With that in mind I think during a concert is will work as well doing the same thing. All in all, increasing the depth of the foxhole and all the surprises in it. See You.

"METALIZMIZUMIZUMU" - great song - Middle Eastern/Egyptian/Arabian (or similar) trance metal at its best.🤘🦊🤘 When they were releasing short snippets of the songs in advance of the album it was this song that intrigued me most - and it is definitely one of my own favourites from the album (but I like the whole album, only one song, maybe two, had to grow on me or I needed the live version to get it ... 'METALIZM' I liked immediately). They haven't really done middle eastern before that I can think of - Shanti x3 was Indian, maybe that was what you meant. There is more to this song vocally than you noticed I think (but you are not the first the say what you said, maybe its an aural illusion if there is such a thing) ... and in the live performances CJ Masciantonio has been adding some nice embellishments to that first guitar solo. Its nice the US has fireworks to celebrate Moa's birthday. 🎆🧨🎇

Queen SuMetal is narrating us a King's tale of the Metal Kingdom with this psytrance mixed with middle eastern, maybe Arabian or whatever sound that looks so cool with the unique blend of BM. This was at BabyMetal Begins - The Other One - Clear Night live at PIA Arena MM, Yokohama, last April 2nd with the already new official member MomoMetal, she was one of the avengers since 2019 and coming from the same roots in Sakura Gakuin just like the girls. The Western Kami Band was performing there but this MV got album studio sound so there's no particular credits for the instruments only the composer and lyrics. Some fans at Sabaton's Europe Tour and later at Asian and Australian Tour were enjoying this song live, but everyone were having a blast with the new singles and classic BM songs. Next suggestion: - Doki Doki Morning live at Makuhari Messe 2023, a new special version you can find at NLMetal, this is a perfect clip to introduce you Metalverse project is on next month. Arabian psytrance metal! 🤘 You hear "metarizumuzumuzumu" repeated a lot in two sections of the song where in the official lyrics the lines are represented each time by a single "METALIZM." The katakana pronunciation of METALIZM is メタリズム/Metarizumu. Metarizumuzumuzumu = メタリズム/Metarizumu (metal rhythm) + ズムズム/zumuzumu (thrumming (e.g., with excitement)).

This is my fave from the new album. The Arabian/Egyptian vibe is so cool. 🤘🦊🤘

After Metal Galaxy, Babymetal ventures out to Metal Universe. Similar structure of style to "Shanti Shanti Shanti" from their Metal Galaxy album which have Indian and Sankrit elements but with Metalizm it fuses elements in the Middle Eastern Arabia and Egyptian vibes. Very heavy instrumental and with EDM vibes. Nice reaction, thanks! I was very curious about this song since they start to release snippets last year. And I have to say that the song didn't disappoint, being different from everything else. Very unique use of that minor harmonic scale to provide a Middle Eastern flavor. I was lucky enough to experience it live last May in Berlin and I have to say that the song kicks ass and the guitar solos are freaking amazing, with CJ even adding from his own in the end of the first solo. For me, it was the peak moment of the whole concert and note that they played one of my top favorite all time songs, "Megitsune". So you are going to enjoy this one so much if you get to see it live (not sure they are going to play it because they are rotating newer songs).

Kitsune,,,,,,,, Recently, I found kitsune-devil (fox-devil). We can see it in a song named “Hawararinioku centi” (chainsaw man ending 3) by Maximum the hormone (popular j-metal band).

nice reaction again! may i suggest (maybe a reaction to two versions of one song in a row? very very different versions) "BabyMetal Legend of 1997 Headbanger" (not sure if you already saw that) and the other version of this song is "'BabyMetal Legend of 1997 'Headbanger' Night of 15 Mix ヘドバンギャー!! Night of 15 mix". i hope you'll like this a lot :) the song is from their first album and the "Night of 15" version was played at some Legend 1997 concerts in japan as an opening i guess. if you search for "Night of 15" there is a 9:xx and a 4:xx long version (that's the copied titel above). the long one is with a classical part (Ave Maria) before the headbanger version. the short one starts immediately with headbanger. i really would enjoy watching your reaction to that, since i was blown away after watching BM for years now, this mix-version never crossed my way until recently. man was i surprised :)

Babymetal album The Other One being a concept album if you check out the lyrics for this song and Metal Kingdom you see that they are tied together within the story lyrically The songs on this album were actually done about 5 years ago along with the songs from Metal Galaxy and they don't count this as a full album They only count this as a half album and a new album Will be forthcoming with all new material probably sometime early next year Su also had input on what she wanted this album to be it being not so cutesy

From the third album onwards, recent BABYMETAL has embraced world music. In the beginning, I think BM had incorporated old and modern, easily recognisable Japanese elements / culture into their songs , and I believe that was one of the reasons why BM became popular abroad. Conversely, in domestic Japan, we have been very few bands in the past that have explicitly incorporated Japanese elements (perhaps a little outlandishly theory of mine), and some people in Japan criticised BM as being mocking. I'm not a music expert and not a metalhead, so I'm somewhat embarrassed to say this to you Septa & SOARE, so please take this as my ramblings (this kind of thing is called modesty in Japanese culture, excuse me, haha..), but the latest album might a distance itself a bit from metal. The producer Koba is known as a metalhead, but it's actually a well-known fact among the fans in Japan that he is a fan of EDM, or house music something. That's why I think there were already some EDM elements in the early songs like Megitsune. And this album might be bringing those elements to the forefront. In fact, in some recent interviews, the ladies has said that their latest work challenged the new things to do something they had not done before. Well, I love this song anyway, haha. Su- has told a story about Arabic metal lore in that song, I guess (of course, joking). The wise Kit Kat spotted the lyrics as a form of folklore as a parody. I learnt it so I could sing it, but the lyrics are like fast Japanese words, they're quite difficult. I admire Su- can sing it well without making mistakes. And she sings like Enka song, haha. So I would agree with you guys 100% on this one. It isn't my favorite Babymetal song either. It isn't bad, just it isn't "great" in my mind. It's a good song. I find it too repetitive and I feel like they do the "metarizumuzumuzumu" too much and Su doesn't really get to sing very much in this song. I also don't like it when they auto-tune and play with her voice post production. I'll probably like the live version much more, but for now this is all I have to go by lol You mentioned that you feel like this album so far is them "playing around" and see what they like. That is pretty accurate as their calling this album a concept album. So it is an experiment to see what works for them. While you were mentioning about them trying some fun new stuff or whatever, one thing you might be interested to know, is that the song Monochrome was already being worked on years ago. In fact Yui was still part of Babymetal when they were working on Monochrome. They may have been working on other songs back then too, but they haven't said anything other than Monochrome. Secondly, and I'm sure somebody (probably Grington300 or JakeMuller) said this already, but the song Divine Attack is a song that Su wrote, or at least played a major role in writing. It was her first attempt at songwriting. Something she had really wanted to do for a long time. So this album is full of experiments.

This is one of their more experimental songs and, to be honest, it's not that metal at all except for the guitar solo. It's pretty interesting to have the guitar solo serve as the chorus though. I dig the song a lot. Good gym track!

I had the pleasure to see it live in Berlin this year and man, the girls and the western Kamis crushed it. It sits in my top three of the new album and my only complaint is that it is too short lol. 🤘🔥🦊
